What are you buying during the Black Friday sales?

A good doll pal of many years is actually buying me a 16" girl doll for Yule. I, myself am trying to behave though this one doll head is just really tempting me to blow my budget.

Still debating on that one. I have to make up my mind one way or the other by Friday. I mean I want it but if I go there I'm going to be living really tight all month and it is December so that's going to be hard...

He's so gorgeous though...

Thing is I just bought a very old SD sized Domuya girl last month, and okay I got her pretty cheap, way cheaper than most of them are listed on eBay anyway, but it seems a bit indulgent for me to be buying the head on top of that even if it is almost Yule...

Last month I spent a lot (for me anyway) thinking that doll would be my Yule present to myself. If I go there again then it's two months in a row I'm going there. I could just swing it but that means REALLY behaving otherwise...

 

I'd had my eye on Ringdoll's Pang Tong for months, and was hoping he'd go on sale again for the holidays so I could justify getting him for myself as a Christmas gift. Well, they had an in-stock one they put on sale for 50% off o_o He should be arriving next week. I'm so excited. His face is gorgeous~

 

I definitely keep eyeing the sales. But I'm still holding out, hoping for more sales to come on the things I really want. But those 50-70% off Ringdoll sales are very tempting!

Where is everyone finding sales? The only sale i’m aware of is ringdoll. With that said, I’m just curious to plan for next year—I have too many layaways to do anything with sales!

Dolls? Not really any plans here, but dang 50-70% off with Ringdoll is a sweet deal!

I usually buy some of Rrabit's clothing blind bags around this time of year, it's like my own little dolly Christmas tradition. I haven't seen any announcement on here for them like I have in years past, though... All their MSD stuff is more traditional MSD size anyhow, so it doesn't quite fit my slim MSDs. I can share some pieces with the SDs though, which is nice! But still, don't see anything from them yet.

Maybe I'll watch out for other clothing sales. The gang always needs more pants!

 

I want to buy a doll as my early Xmas gift to me (he's in-stock) and I have the money for him but... Canada Post is currently on strike and isn't accepting any mail/packages. Anything coming into the system once the strike started will sit somewhere piling up until the strike is resolved. I'm not keen on a doll sitting in a random warehouse (it would be a secure site but still) for gods only knows how long risking potential damage and extended delivery times (I'm guessing they'll have a fair sized backlog to get through once the strike ends). I've emailed the company to see if there's another shipping option they'd be willing to do (UPS or FedEx) as here in Canada, EMS and DHL are both handed off to Canada Post for delivery once the item clears Customs. Hopefully I don't need to wait too long to get a response and they're willing to use a different carrier even if the shipping will probably be more expensive for me *sigh.

 

The body I just bought for my new head wasn't on sale, but it was a Resinsoul custom, so it feels like a deal for what I'm getting. What I've actually bought on sale is Joann's Pop! brand printed knits. I got chunks of four different prints for about the cost of what one full yard would be normally, and I'm planning to use them to make shirts and pajama pants/shorts for both my and my friend's dolls.

 

I'm subscribed via RSS to BJD Collectasy. It's not every sale but between that and the News section here on DOA it's quite a lot.

The Ringdoll sale would be tempting if they had one of the dolls I want in stock, but thankfully I'm safe (for now).
So to answer the question, this year it's nothing...

 

Pang Tong arrived over the weekend! Shipping was .... a lot, but he got here quickly and safely from Hong Kong in like a week and a half!

 

Sadly no sales for dolls I'm planning to buy, won't buy something because it's cheap

 

I got some outfits for my bigger dolls on etsy for more than half off
Although I realized now that the shop is located in Canada so we will see how that goes

Edit: I also bit the bullet and got a few pairs of eyes that I wanted in various sizes for a pretty good deal!

 

It wasn't specifically a Black Friday sale, but I took advantage of SartoriaJ's Holiday Sale that started on November 15 and ordered a doll.

And Iplehouse just put up their Holiday Sale, and it runs through January 05. There's a basic-ish doll on my wishlist that I was considering purchasing in early 2025, but maybe I'll order her a bit earlier? I was considering getting her soon because she's my all-time favorite doll size and I want to do a body swap with one of my other dolls (bust size doesn't work for character). This other doll I own is my #1 OC, so... when it comes to something I want for her, it takes priority.

I'll see how things pan out over the next few weeks. I just bought that SartoriaJ doll and some other doll items, and I'm also in the middle of acquiring components to build a new computer.

 

RD was able to ship via FedEx so I bought Ksitigarbha-The Virgo! I've loved him since his initial release in 2019 so I'm pretty excited. As I assumed the shipping was painful especially with the terrible US/Canada exchange rate but I've been assured that FedEx will deliver him directly to my door and NOT hand him off to Canada Post after Customs clearance. For the amount I've paid in shipping, they better darn well do that. He's already shipped, too, (he was in stock) so hopefully I'll see him within the next 10 days-2 weeks.

 

I bought an OOAK dress I've been eyeing for several months from Minidesign_ayuana on Instagram.

Other than that, there wasn't much doll-related sales and promotions going on that I'm super interested in, since I'm currently focusing on refining my collection and getting more accessories, which unfortunately I didn't see many sales of.

 

I just ordered a doll today from a Sartoria J. I Have eyed their dolls for a long time.. There was free shipping on the doll I wanted and 5 % discount.. it was the free shipping got me..

 

Absolutely agree. Shipping fees for large dolls could go up to 70€, not mentioning the tax you should pay while shipping abroad. I love SartoriaJ and their excellent outfits. Can't wait to see yours

 

Thank you. Yes shipping is a awful lot to my country (i'm in europe), so yes that was a lot to save.. I love their outfit as well. I didn't get one because the one they have right now, didn't fit my ideas for the doll, so just the doll and eyes (now to use the waiting time to find outfit and a wig). that's so kind of you . if I remember, I will do a box openning.

 

First and foremost for Black Friday I spent way too much money. I ended up purchasing 5 bjds all at one time with only two of them being preorders. The others I should be getting by the third week in December at the latest. I also took advantage and ordered some wigs and shoes for my bjds because they were on the cheap and Lord knows I am still eyeing a few more. I also randomly ordered me another eyeshadow palette and foundation that I don’t need but wanted and a Charlie Bear.
