Materials What are the best magnets for magnetic parts?

Personally I have been using these! They have worked great for me so far, securing faceplates and fantasy parts. I cannot attest to staining though, as I have never removed one of them.

 

I use neodymium magnets (i think most are). Probably most common are the flat round ones but they come in almost all shapes and sizes (be carefull with the bigger ones). Never seen stains from the magnets, i think staining could be from the glue or paint was involved?

Will do! If you run into trouble she might beam over (i still haven't 3d printed her spaceship). Oh and she told me to pass along another tip. Mark one side of your magnets with a marker or something. So you know if the positive or negative side of the magnet is showing or on the glued-in side of your doll part. If say you use both a magnet in the wrist and in the hand you don't want to find out its glued in the wrong side... Learned that one the hard way myself
