Special Event Welcome to the Den of Angels 13th Anniversary Celebration!

Wow, I remember last year when I was a total noob and the celebration was going on. Now it is a year later I am slightly less of a noob and I actually have a doll. How time flies.

 

Man I love these celebrations August also marks my anniversary with my first bjd- 7 years this year. I hope that means I'm lucky!

 

Yay, this look exciting! First year here for a celebration. :>

 

This is the first year I'll get to take part in the festivities - lack of time and no dolls in previous years prevented me...that combined with the fact that 13 is my favorite number, I'd consider it good luck. ^o^

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with during the celebration. The people here are so creative!

August is my DoA anniversary, too! This site has been invaluable for helping me learn and share about this hobby over the past two years. I'm also in the "was too busy to participate last year" camp, so here's to Lucky 13!

 

How exciting~ Thirteen years is a long time! Congratulations! This is also my first time here for the anniversary. I hope I'll be able to participate in whatever events take place.

Even though I have been a member of DoA for so long, I think this might be the first to be "active" in the hobby during one of the anniversaries. For me, coming here not only expanded my knowledge of the BJD world, but it also allowed me to meet some of the most amazing souls I've ever had the fortune of coming across.

Happy Thirteenth DOA!! Can thirteen be a lucky number? I guess some of us will see! I remember being here since 2010, and I've never regretted it! Thank you for always being a place to come and dream about all the dolls I want and a wonderful resource to the community! Happy Birthday!

 

Nooo I hate 13! I've failt with my exam when I had the "lucky number". I know this is all nonsense but well..

 

My 8th year... time sure flies! 13 has been pretty neutral to me, not lucky or unlucky!

 

This must be a sign. 13 is my lucky number. I'm still collecting money to buy my very first doll. So I'll be joining in on the best year. Must be my lucky year.

My goodness, been here almost a year and I have seen many phenomenal creations from many members here. It's a place to come for some relaxing browsing of beautiful dolls and interact with some wonderful people with a common interest. It's also the best place on the net for all the technical stuff and is a fantastic point of research for anyone interested in the hobby.
What a great place, thanks to all the staff here, you do a great job.

 

Been here myself for almost 12 years. So DOA both grew together in the hobby.

As for the number thirteen, I typically don't assign any numbers as having good or bad luck. But the number thirteen is usually associated with black cats, and I love cats, soo....

 

Wow, 13 years? I've been in the hobby since 2008 and it still does not feel like it's been that long. Though sometimes it feels longer. I'm looking forward to the events!

I've been signed up with DoA since 2008, but I've only really been active here in the past year or so. This would be my first year even acknowledging the anniversary, and the festivities attached to it. I'm not sure what exactly goes on completely with the activities tied into the anniversary celebration, but I guess I should keep my eye on here to see what they'll be

As for whether the number 13 is lucky or unlucky....couldn't really tell you. I just know that the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA was built on the concept of incorporating thirteen into its construction wherever possible because the woman in charge of it's creation loved the number a lot

Happy 13th anniversary!
I was very young when I first got into BJDs and lurked on Den of Angels. After that, I tried to avoid the BJD hobby for years, thinking I'd probably never get one. I thought getting my first doll was still a long way away in 2016 but I couldn't stay away and finally got my first that September! I never imagined that one year later, she'd already have a new body like I planned. I'm very glad I came back to this community, and am here to participate this time and share the experience with everyone else. I absolutely love these forums and the interesting stories everyone has to tell. Here is to 13 more years!

P.S. Forgot to mention - thirteen feels very lucky indeed! Congrats

August is also my DoA anniversary!! Only 3 years for me, though!

 

I'm on time for once!!! LOL 13, 7 and 3 are my luckiest numbers. I believe in number codes and patterns, like the Fibonacci sequence of things. I don't see it as superstition at all. I've always had a fascination with "odd" numbers. But how I learned math was through patterns and sequences.

I don't know if that makes sense to anyone, but seeing those numbers make me feel like it's going to be a great day. Since that's my favourite number.
