Dialogue Watching Anime With Daddy (Iplehouse JID Tania)

Sep 16, 2022

    1. I was going to share a photostory of Tania with her Luminary Tears plushies for All BJDs Welcome Here's Iplehouse Friday tonight, but it turns out I never made a photostory like that! I just had one photo. So, I put together a quick little photostory of Tania watching anime with her Daddy :) She's a little girl navigating the world, but she takes time to watch anime with her Daddy. She has one of her Luminary Tears plushies with her while she's watching the anime because I wanted to work it in somehow.

Samurai Troopers is the current licensed name for Ronin Warriors. I got this blu ray set recently. It has the English dub which is pure nostalgia for me. It's been more than 20 years since I've watched this show, and it holds up so well.
A Little Snow Fairy Sugar is such a cute series that I couldn't believe it! It was perfect for Tania. If you look up the opening of the show on Youtube, you'll never get it out of your head!

Kashimashi is an old manga favorite of mine. It was one of my first manga books, and it was one of my first shoujo-ai/yuri manga/anime. Shoujo-ai being deep relationships between girls, oftentimes romantic relationships. Most of the manga I read is shoujo-ai. I just love it so much <3 I've seen the anime of Kashimashi, but it's been a long time. I also recently picked up this blu ray set. I plan on watching it soon. I'm hooked on Ronin Warriors, though! Anyway, Kashimashi is about Hazumu, an effeminate boy who gets turned into a girl as the result of an intergalactic accident. He takes to being turned into a girl very well, but he still needs to adjust. Hence, the bra shopping episode :D He gets caught in a love triangle with a childhood friend of his and the girl he had a crush on before he himself became a girl. It's a really funny and touching series.

Tenchi In Tokyo is my favorite of the year 2000 run of Tenchi on Cartoon Network's Toonami. It's just a whole boatload of fun. It's a riot through and through. This series is about Tenchi, the son of a Shinto priest who begrudgingly has a harem of alien girls who fawn over him at home, going to Tokyo for school and meeting a new girl. Imagine the jealousy and drama :D

The Cardcaptors DVD is an old favorite. I know, the Cardcaptor Sakura version of the show is better, and I have that, too, but I still remember the reedited Cardcaptors version fondly. I have this and the Cardcaptors movie on DVD, and I'm glad I do. Watching it on TV in 2000, it was one of my earliest anime shows and my first time experiencing a CLAMP project. I went on to become a big CLAMP manga fan a few years later when I was old enough to get a job, drive myself to Borders, and get a manga every now and then :) I still have all of my old Tokyopop books even though updated editions have been released in recent years that supersede the Tokyopop books in quality.
