Thais is my second BJD. (Well, the first one is still in progress...for several months but all I've got is just a rough head) He's an anthro fox with dog-like buckled legs. Here's the rough sketch which takes me all night correcting it again and again. He is just 20cm tall (ears length included) Really big task making joints and small details TwT;; In Thailand, there's no Super Sculpy or fantastic LaDoll clay available in store. So I have to use Japanese paperclay to sculp my dolls sitting A week later. I must confess that he can't stand so well. I gotta adjust his balancing. Would you guys help me please =w= Well, I really need some critique to improve my doll. Or just some tips for a rookie doll-maker Thanks for stopping by
Cute! Love the guitar. Can't wait to see it finished are you going to add more definition to the face?
kawaii! There's so much vivacity in the facial expression already and he doesnt even have eyes yet. Looks like a wee perky baby peeking at something that is too high up for him. My only advice so early on? Sand til you cant sand no more.
I love that one photo of him sitting on his butt looking up, it's very cute!! His face is so adorable! And I like his hands a lot! My advice on that he can't stand, it looks like it could be caused by that the stringing goes form his thighs to his body at an angle (the string doesn't have a straight shot from toes - head) The straighter you can make that length of elastic when the legs are straightened for standing the better they will stand. Also, locking knees can help, especially on angleed animal legs like you have on him. It also may not help that his legs are so small compared to his large torso, he may be top heavy and not want to balance. Also to me proportionately, his arms seem a just a tiny bit too long. Maybe if you shorten his wrists, they seem to be the part that is long to me, then again it looks like you were going for a very fox-paw look, and that is where the joint on them IS. Humm….
So cuteeee *V*) I love him! As for standing, I'm no expert at this but because of the joints in his legs, compared to the size of his feet and head it might be difficult...but I wouldn't worry about it too much~ My Baha needs balancing to stand too because it has such a big head and little feet xD
Wow I like the design, and the tail is just cute!! (It remember's me Tails from Sonic xD) I like you project!!! A lot >w< The face is... lovely ^^ I can't help you with the standing problem =_=U sorry
Just a quick update After adjust the balancing and sanding all of his joints now he can stand on his little feet really well \(^w^)/ Here's some pics Let's zoom in and take a closer look. Thanks everyone, I'll reply your comments later
I love his legs!!! They are so original ^^ I think he stands quite well ^^ The ears are so sweet >//<
I usually dont like anthto's much but yours is sooo cute! I love his legs and hands... he's really cool!
Too adorable!!! I love the body! ^_^ My only suggestion (and I'm the LAST to give it, since I've never had the courage to actually make one myself..) is the facial features, I'd like to see more defined features as well. But it may just be me, without the eyes and stuff, it's always hard to tell for me. ^_^; I can't wait to see it finished! ^_^
I love his thighs! they are adorable! it beats the daylights out of any other fox doll ive seen! (sorry bao) lol
THose have got to be the best anthro legs I have seen on a doll so far (ehm, that sounded a bit weird, but well...) His face is very cute - I think you've managed to nail the fox look very well.
oh wow! love the way he is standing. he is going to be adorable.... i've been wanting to do anthro legs and yours are awesome!
god! he's really fantastic !! I hope you 'll cast him in resin , because I want your little Kitsune , now !!!
Thank you sooo much for every useful comments. And I'm also really glad to see that you guys like him. Sure! I just added eyelids and I may show you some photos in a few days. I'm trying to learn how to make the moulds but I afraid that I may not have enough time (or money TAT) to cast him. University life is sucks!!!
Oh, he's precious! I love his face and little body, his proportions are great. I agree- if you ever do cast him in resin, let us know. I'd love to have one of those little guys.
Oh my god, I love this. Fantastic job. I love the style and the size. Only your second doll? Incredible! Please keep going!
Ahh so cute! X3 I'm glad you fixed his standing problem, great to hear! Best wishes finishing him up!
Oh yes it's true, this boy is soooo cute !! I really like him ! I wish you will be able to cast him too, because he would be a perfect friend for other dolls
He's marvelously cute! That pic of him standing on one foot is amazing. His little paws are wonderfully sculpted too. I can't wait to see more.
Tiny Nanao got eyes and face definition! I put on a pair of beautiful 14mm acrylic eyes. After 2-3 times of sanding, I guess he gonna ready to be sprayed with surfacer^^ I plan to sand and coat him next week. "See ya!"
After sanding him almost a million times, I started to put 'Mr.SURFACER' on Nanao's skin He looks quite well, doesn't he? Size comparison with Surfacer can. I want to cast him in resin if possible, and also want to sell some...if possible =w=;; I wanna know about the selling price and market, where can I find them??
Ah I love him! He's really cute! I hope you'll cast some of him and sell some, I'd be so wanting one if you did. . .he's awesome! Reminds me a bit of a corgi!
Thanks everyone XD After coated with surfacer, the surface looks shiny, harder and smoother as plastic or resin^^
I really love him !!! First, fox is one of my favorit animal, and yours is really cute !! I wish you will sell some !
Amazing! I love how well balanced he is...can't wait to see him after being painted and everything! I want one too. oWo
He's so very adorable! Can I have him? I love him, he stands so well and is just...awesome My only issue is now that you have sprayed him, his little nose looks a little too, little. It could just be the angle mind you, but it does seem a little narrower. Anyways, he's still adorable and I wish you luck in future endeavours concerning this little guy.
Ahhh he's so adorable! ^_^!!!! I know I would be one that would love to own one of these little cuties! ^_^!
Finally a cute kitsune with BIG eyes...slanty eyes are good for some but not adorable in my own opinon...I LOVE this!! *squees with enthusiasm*
I'd buy one. I really, really would. I'm totally in love with his digitigrade legs. So, you know, you have at least one potential buyer in me.
You're so observant!! I shaved his nose a little bit before the coating. Is it looks ok? Or I shouldn't do it hahaha Thank you so much for your comment
Thanks. It looks fine, I personally prefer it a little bigger, but I have a thing for little button noses. He's going to be amazing. And you're welcome.
He is so cute! I love seeing your progress. Kitsune are my favourite, sign me up for one of those cuties!
I WANT ONE!!! *grabby hands* Seriously, If you were to sell him I'd want one. He's just too cute! I'm not sure what price you should put him for, but probably the average tiny size? I dunno, but he is adorable. Awsome job!
he's SO CUTE ! the most adorable anthro doll ever! I hope you'll find the time to cast him and you'll be selling him in the future (i'd like to got one too ; ). Good luck in casting
Hi! guys I'm back with some more updates Nanao was coated with Mr.SURFACER over all of his parts ,,>w<,, good news: Nanao the prototype doll is finished and ready to be casted in resin XDDDD bad news: I gotta go back to the university next week. Moreover, I have no enough money to buy a resin kit ... nor silicone for making molds TT____TT;;; I took a lot of pics yesterday and I wanna show you some I just modified the arm joints and they look better than before I may come back with more photos this evening (Bangkok time =_=) Bye everyone!
He's perfect! Wonderful work. I'm sorry to hear (from a purely selfish standpoint, you understand...) that you can't cast him right now. Best of luck for the future, though!
