Volks YoSD and YoTenshi Discussion part 7

I got out my fancy camera yesterday and was able to take some shots of Yuuya today! He's been so neglected because I've been trying to discover my BF Olive's character.

I really adore this little guy and I really want to get him a friend this year, if I can.

 

@spindlewood Yuuya is suuuuch a cute little imp. :3 If he'd like a friend, my three would absolutely groove on getting to hang out with somebody with horns.

@JennyNemesis Yuuya could do with more friends. In his story, he actually doesn't have any until his adventure to the Great Kaibutsu Kingdom. But he'll have a new friend in the house soon (e.g., tomorrow). I'm super excited!

@Sakuri What a great box opening! The bit about "peace. Tranquility. I'm mature." made me giggle. Congrats on your new little guy!

 

Hehe, I only used Tarot cards because we don't have a Yo-SD sized poker deck. Well, other people's toys being too big has never stopped them before. I also just liked the notion of playing a regular card games with a tarot. Like, you'd have to be pretty out-there for it to make sense (and these three guys are pretty out-there) (too much sugar ).

Many congratulations on your newest little sprout!! : Chibi Tsukasa is every bit as precious as Big Tsukasa.... and having the two of them together is extra-wonderful. Besides, every boy needs a nemesis. =D

Oh yay! I was about to be very sad because Yuuya has no friends.... ;; I know, I'm a sucker. Yuuya is just so cute and deserves a partner-in-crime. So I'm happy to hear that he's got a friend on the way! Is he there yet and when can we see him? :

 

@JennyNemesis she should be arriving today. I'm planning on doing a box opening video for her.

 

@spindlewood - Yay thank you! If I can help it, I love making people giggle. Yuuya's so cute, and his eyebrows give him so much character Hope we get to see a box opening for your little boy's new friend!

@JennyNemesis - Thanks! It is fun having a Tokyo Boys pair, although the one who's having a blast is certainly Nozomi. I've never seen Thackery so harassed before. I almost feel bad for him, but tinies are quickly becoming my favorite size. But so true, they all need some kind of nemesis, a challenge, to keep them in line. Your boys look so chummy there, but what's it look like when they fight?

 

Heh, they haven't had occasion to fight so far-- I don't even think they're the fighting type. Their purpose on this planet is to eat candy and make noise and have a good time: and these guys are serious about their job.

 

OK, everyone - here she is! Meet Maru (tentatively named)! She is a maneki-neko and the one who brings Yuuya to the Queen of Cats in the Great Kaibutsu Kingdom. She's relatively new to the Cat Kingdom and bringing Yuuya is her first big task. After bringing him to the Queen, she'll be able to choose her new name.

Although technically her mission is complete after bringing Yuuya to the Queen, she accompanies him on his journey through the Kingdom, aiding him in his quest to restore the Oni King's soul.

Congratulations! She's so cute too. :3 They definitely make great travel-companions for a magic kingdom.

@JennyNemesis - It's good they don't fight. Their jobs do make them sound too busy to waste time arguing with each other! I wish my three tinies would get along, but Aysel's older twin Rowan can be so mean to her, especially when she wants to play with his cat...

Decided to upgrade Maru's name to Maruka. Maruka is Maru's new name, the one she chose (with the help of Yuuya) to be known by after completing her task of bringing Yuuya to the Queen. Most Cats would consider her name rather plain, as they tend to prefer extravagant names, but Maruka is quite happy with her new name.

 

@spindlewood - I agree! Having a shorter name among even the longest and grandest would stand out far more. Maruka is a great name!

@JennyNemesis - It totally can... Can't tell whether if it's just a disarming sort of charm, or if they're secretly plotting to take over the world. Or at the very least, the living room.

Oh-- is that "Love and Punk Pants Set" actually Neon's default? I thought it looked like something I'd seen before! I bought it as the set from Volks after they re-released it separate from Neon. (It also looks a fair amount like SDC Ryu's default outfit. Volks has such a great grasp on the cute-punk thing, when they feel like doing it.)

It DOES have amazing red-and-black boots. Taki is monopolizing them right now.



Tata's does still have the pullover.... I was just over there looking for SD17 pants, and was about to look for more Yo-SD pants when I got sidetracked by at least eleven hundred dollars of whips & stands & accessories. That site is SO deadly.

 

It's so graffiti-cute! If only it had a little less pink in it, it'd be suitable for little boy sprites too. ;;^^ I have tried to avoid that site because I never come away from it unscathed. Gawd, they just have everything. (They have a freakin' ball-gag now. xD)

That's right, I'd forgot that Neon & Kanon didn't actually come with clothes, which I always thought was a bit stingy. But those two outfits! So tuff. I didn't have any Yo-SDs at all at the time, so I was really glad to see that the outfit was still around once I had to start shopping for Yo-clothes.

 

Hi all, I just lashed out recently and bought a YOSD Rinon and received her last week and I am so in love with her, I named her Natalie

 

Yikes! What happened to Volks USA? I thought they were talking about all these new improvements and a great future for the USA site yada yada yada, and-- deleted?

 

Jeeeezus wept! What a mess!! That is grimness.

I don't regularly go to Facebook, so I'd've totally missed that.... that's the kind of thing I think a business would want to send out an email blast for, right?..... But y'know, that's just me. What do I know.

 

I would've found it a lot less 'charming' if I were one of those customers who had an order in the past 2 months that just got obliterated. : (Lucky for me, I procrastinate for long long periods of time between Volks-runs....)

Yo-tenshi owners, I'm wondering how strong the wing magnets are. Do you have any issues putting the wings on over clothing? Do they affix firmly or are they prone to falling off at the lightest touch?

 

Good question about the magnets. I know that my Soom guy's horns have magnets so strong you have to really yank to get them off, but I also know there's nothing worse than weak magnets when something is meant to stay on. (Did we notice whether Potnia the Seitenshi's wings were weak or strong?)

I still haven't finished editing all my photos from our trip to Japan, but I can't resist sharing just one! @MacaronTea 's brand-new Neon, Ren, cute as a box of buttons, and Nava-- hanging out in front of a paper Eiffel Tower in our posh Airbnb apartment in Tokyo.



Nava also took over the bullet-train, the Tokyo SkyTree, Tenshi-no-Mado, the inside AND outside of Tenshi-no-Sato, and Kiyomizudera Temple in Kyoto.... but I'm still editing pics, and will get to posting a million travelogue gallery threads later. :3 Welcome to Ren, BTW! He was such an awesome addition to our traveling party.

 

I have several Yo Tenshi and haven't had any problems with the wings falling off when the kids are wearing clothes.

 

I've not had a problem with wings falling off. In the case of my dolls wearing really thick clothing, I will stick an extra magnet inside the clothing (only because I am paranoid). But I only had to do that once.

 

I'm just finished up with my ton of vacation photos, and now I've got to get to composing some adventure-time photostories... But to start off, here's a Happy Cherry Blossom Season greeting from Nava at Tenshi-no-Sato.

I have a yo Elena but I haven't taken any recent pics of her but I have an older pic if you want to see her.

 

I finally started serializing Nava's adventures in Japan with me. Having to write it all down really helped me remember what days everything happened on. ^^ Even a Yo-SD in a backpack feels pretty heavy by the end of a long day of walking, so he didn't come along with me absolutely every day! But Yo-SDs are great for travelling, really. Great travel gnomes. Portable size, sturdy resin, low center of gravity.
