My Hinata arrived last weekend. She is such a cutie!! I posted more photos in the Box Opening forum.



BTW Do Yo-SDs come with authenticity certificates? It seems like my girl didn't come with one but I'm not sure.

I do not think they do "certificates", but there is generally a packet of papers featuring the sculpt included, and the doll has a numbered metal plate on the back of her head. It's what I look for as far as authenticity goes.

Hi guys, I have a question. My Yo has the origin body and came with fist hands (H-03 according to the inscription in the hand), but the fist hands look too big for the wrist joint. Is this a common issue? Is it something with the origin body perhaps being slightly smaller? These aren't the default hands that she would've come with (she's the Disney themed Nono).

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

 

Can you post a photo? I know there are a pair of YoMidi hands that are fists (my Devilman came with them).

Agreed the hands look normal. That gap is common in the Yo hands.

 

So I need a bit of help. I just bought a second hand yosd ayumu with no box or manual... Well I can't find the proper measurement for the restring. Can anyone help me?

The special Tokyo Boys hands that come with Yo-Shiro and Yo-Tsukasa are also bigger at the base than normal-- I wonder if they're gradually increasing hand size on purpose, or if it's just something that happened over the years. ^^ Yo-Shiro's hands looked so big & clunky that I wrote in a panic to this thread, thinking he'd come with the wrong hands or something!

(I wonder if Yo-Jun's special hands are bigger too?)

Also, I am a terrible terrible doll owner-- I got my Yo-Tsukasa 2 days ago, and I still haven't gotten around to arrival pics yet! : Pre-Halloween madness doncha know. But he is eleventy-six shades of adorable, and I hope to introduce him to DOA sometime this weekend.

@JennyNemesis, please "treat" us with pics of Yo-Tsukasa! (And Yo-Jun's special hand isn't larger, that I can tell; I've used it on my other Yo girls, and it looks fine.)

 

Are they just starting to use the Midi hands more often, I wonder? Hinata's hands seem the same scale as my other Yos, and she's just a month or so old.

 

I love Julie's outfit! I want it for myself. Do they make that in a Ladies' 9-Long?

I think his eyes may be too 'distant' for my liking, so I may have to resign myself to the grim meathook reality of removing the pile of hot-glue from inside a Yo head. ;; I've been refusing to change Nava & Taki's eyes because I didn't want to face the task of glue removal in such a small head, because I always make such a mess of it. But I'd like Tsuka-pyon here to look a little livelier. (Too bad, because the Ash Green eyes are one of my fave colors.)

 

@Eiko82, Julie looks super cute in that dress, I got the same one for my girl along with the boy one so that Lilly and Aidan could match

My Tsukasa finally picked the name Jiro. Actually, I had a short-list and he wasn't picking anything at all (I think he was too busy discovering the candy jars), so his fairy godmother Kellyhime named him.

Interesting! They have other nicelooking solid hand options, too... I'm wondering if the resin would be close to Volks. It looks like it has the right ivory tone in these pics, but it's hard to tell.

I don't know what jointed hands would be like at 1/6 size; they're so tricky to operate even at larger sizes, I wonder if they'd drive me crazy at this size. ^^

 

Yes indeed ! I always wanted some jointed hands but I don't have SD at home and all my MSD are tan or to big or small.
Here, I'm not so sure about the diameter of the wrist (About the color, can be blushed so I'm not really worried).

Well, he doesn't need the kilt or the stockings or the purse or the lacy top or the hat, but then, I think most of my DollHeart sets in the past 10 years were purchased just because I wanted only 1 item from it (usually, 1 item + belt ^^). I wish one of the Dark Rock sets came in Yo-Boy sizes, but that girl set is the only one that comes with a vest. Maybe I need to hassle Tata's Paradise and ask them to start making a biker vest in Yo sizes.

 

The gigantor hat is par for the course.... I have never gotten a DollHeart hat that wasn't Alice-Cooper-oversized! I have a 70cm outfit with a top hat that absolutely swallows my poor Genji's head, and the SD13s only get by with their hats if they wear thick fur wigs. ;;^^ (My theory is that DollHeart never got over their old habit of using LUTS El for a fit-model, like they're just used to making hats for that big pumpkin head...)

Once in a blue moon Volks makes rocker clothes for Yos, but I've never seen any leather, besides Isao's pants & those hilarious old Cavity Creep outfits with the halter-tops. The 'Panther Punk' sets have the great classic-punk red plaid & buckles, but alas, no leather jackets. (Nava was lucky enough to have a collar with his default set, but he would reeeally like one with pyramid studs!)

 

I have the Panther sets, but Eleniel's Yumi appropriated them for her own use (big surprise).

I haven't posted my littles for a while.

I have a question, I just purchased a Volks YoSD from someone on eBay and I don't know which sculpt it is. Inside the headcap is #37, I think it might be Papi. The sticker on the back of the headcap says SD 07, 03 HDP made in Japan. If anyone can help that would be great.

Do you have a picture (maybe from the auction, if she hasn't arrived)? I'm sure someone can identify the sculpt with a picture.

 

@Calphedoll, I just checked my Puff and he has "37" marked inside his head, as well as the same plate on back. Papi and Puff share the same sculpt, so...I'd say it's pretty likely you have a Papi/Puff head coming to you. Congrats!

 

Oh, she's a naughty one, that Kanga. She is very jealous of the dolls. So no wings for her! (lol)

Hi guys ! I have some doubts.

I bought a 6/7 Monique wig for my Nana (The paper say it). This is ok. I have another wig from Monique et with the same size and this one is too small.
The first wig can be 7/8 ? What do you think ?

Someone has some wigs from Monique who could confirm me what size I must buy ?

 

I have many wigs from Monique, and they all fit a little differently...even the same style. Your first one may have a little more stretch in it, or the second one may have less stretch, or be cut slightly smaller. It happens. I would think that a 7/8 would be huge on most Yo sized heads, so likely the first one is a 6/7 as it says. Just a little looser.
My Yos use 6/7 wigs, not 7/8 (or an extremely stretchy 5/6, but that's really rare).

 

Mylene are both wigs "Monique Gold"? I have found that the Gold wigs are made with a bit more stretch. I would also agree with clochette that 6-7 is the correct size
