annnd my wait is over! Kanata has just arrived and he is even more adorable in person! i had some buyers regret just because i really didnt have the funds.. but i couldnt help it! and i'm glad i went for it he is extremely adorable and i think i would have regretted not buying him later sorry for the bad phone photo @@;

Oh gosh, did you guys see how many YoTenshi are up for voting in the new Best Selection round? :O I'm trying not to get my hopes up that this could be my chance to get a Konomi...

I received my Rinon today! I had been tracking her, and the way that the tracking updated seemed like the mail carrier had just left her on my porch without a notice. Which scared the crap out of me, because I wasn't going to be home for another six hours or so. So I drove all the way home on my lunch break to check. xD

A notice had been left. :/ So I grabbed it and decided that I would drop by the Post Office after work today and see if I could get her then rather than waiting until tomorrow after work.

I was not very fond of the eyes or wig that she came with, so I changed those pretty quick. I thought that she may work as a child version of one of my other dolls, so I put on a wig in the same color and said doll's old eyes in her. I can see it, but I think she'll need a new faceup as this one is a bit soft for the character.

She's my first Volks doll, and now I'm really enjoying her. I was initially put off when I discovered that she was single-jointed and didn't have a torso joint, but after playing with her a bit, we're okay. Now I'm looking even more forward to my Elena from VolksUSA.

Thank you! ^^ The eyes are Enchanted Doll ED #30 in 14mm, although they're a bit mellowed out as they're a few years old. Your Kanata is adorable -- he looks much cuter than the stock photos! *now wants ALL​ the Yos*

 

thank you! and yeah they are adorable! its strange that some dont look as cute in stock photos then you see owner photos and fall in love @_@; then its onward to the hunt on the marketplace and websites to get your hands on one xD and to think i went from not wanting to own a yo, to owning two..

I missed out on the Volks USA event to get Rinon, but I was able to find her anyway to bring home. It seemed like she was really, really popular... or they just didn't produce as many of her as Kanata and Elena. She'll hopefully be home in a few weeks

Crossing my fingers that all the voting means that Volks will re-release the popular cuties... I would do crazy things to bring home any size of Una.

Nava's new outfit also came with a leopard cat-eared hat, but it didn't quite fit into this photoshoot, what with all the bodies dancing on the couch at the same time. It's also incredibly silly. xD I'll take some pics of the full Panther Punk Set later, hat and all....

 

Mezu would be utter perfection in this outfit. Even if you leave off the animal-cosplay items, it's still the perfect classic-style punk set! Hard to go wrong with an asymmetrical black longsleever + red-plaid bondage pants. But I have to admit the tail-chain-belt is a coup de grace.

Nava also has one pair of plain black combat-boots that go great with this set, but they're standard-26cm-doll sized, not Volks... so they seem ridiculously tiny, next to his ginormous default boots... and he can't stand up in them while holding his guitar. xD So he kept his flame boots on. I didn't realize how dependent I've become on those oversized platforms to hold him up!

 

JennyNemesis, that set fits Nava so well!!
It seems like his life calling to be the life of the party!
(And yes, the leopard hat is adorably silly :laugh)

 

Hee hee hee-- and here is the hat! Nava continued his dance-assault rock-out party on his own, when there was room for that giant hat. It's amazing how it sucks up all the attention in a photograph.

Hello~ Just swinging by with some Yuuya (VOLKS YoSD Ayumu) spam! He's just so adorable! I wish I had more opportunities/time to take proper photos of him.

 

The silly hat & tail are for a leopard, but we'll forgive the name Panther Punk because Leopard Punk doesn't have alliteration. ^^ Nava has kept the tail on.

What an adorable sunshiny shot of Naoto! (I'm always a big fan of using venetian blinds for a light-effect. ) Where did his cute plain black t-shirt come from?

Actually I made his shirt. It was the first thing I'd sewn in quite a while and I had to do it by hand, but it turned out pretty good

Now that I have this girl I am chomping at the bit to sew more for her! I'm shocked at how much I love the origin body since usually one piece bodies aren't for me but it's just so cute! Her little belly button makes me giggle every time.

Yes- I'm curious about the origin body as well! I wasn't happy that that's the one Elena comes with. But I love her face SO MUCH!

 

Motiko and Chehime: the body is not of my personal posing preferences when it comes to dolls in this size range, since I've been spoiled by Littlefee. ^^; The one piece torso and single jointed limbs aren't doing it for me. I find that I like to pose my smaller dolls, but my larger dolls I'm content with them just sitting/standing and looking pretty. Aesthetically, it's very adorable though! I'm on the hunt for bodies to hybrid with for mine. My Rinon is turning out to be a rambunctious little boy and I'd like some posing ability to go with that!

The origin body isn't terrible as long as posing isn't a top priority. I thought I would hate it because I didn't like my SD 10 on the origin but then I realized I rarely use the middle joint on yos anyways when I did own an ayumu. She sits well and stands like a rock though? I wish she could touch her face but I'l just keep dreaming~ Overall the body is beautiful and that completely makes up for all of it to me. >_>

 

Not even the newest body has doublejointed elbows, though. Elbows would be great.

But I love the new body-- doublejointed knees, back-locks, shoulder-locks, bendy waist, this bod can rock out! Well, you've all seen Nava's rockin'-out moves before.

 

The girl origin body poses better than some of the old jointed torso ones. It has the same shoulder and ankle locks as the new body. It does eliminate the wobbly body issue that sometimes happens if the doll is loosely strung in the old body. If one really wants super posing ability the sqlab body is a good hybrid alternative though their resin is just a bit pinky and may be an issue for those wanting an exact resin match.

I do wish though that they offered the girls on the newer jointed torso as the back locks are nice. The single joint torso would make more sense if they offered cute kid bikinis for them.

I got two new arrivals this week both of them need better wigs though. My rinon who I'm naming Versailles and a seitensihi named Dublin.
I have to take a better picture of the new arrivals.

orangediscord, Yo's are so cute! Owning a VOLKS YoSD was one of my dreams after seeing a YoSD Piccolo in person. I'm so happy to have my YoSD Ayumu! I really do recommend getting one.
