Volks USA Tea Party Los Angeles March 15/16 2014

    1. The things I want are not available so, I'll keep my wallet closed XP It's a great sale regardless!
       
    2. I bought the SD Ryo that I've been coveting for yonks, as well as some wigs and clothes and a nice pair of boots.

      But the main event was entering for Pearl. Deep and serious Pearl love in this here bosom. I don't know if I will last till April 5th.
       
    3. Though I went to the closing store sale, I didn't see any of the DD/SD/MSD wig lucky bags there. I luckily grabbed one along with some other little stuff after the all the web trouble. :D I kind of wish that they just deleted stuff off the site that they don't have instead of getting the "not available" message. Wonder what will happen next.
       
    4. I ordered a few items too. An outfit, wig mist, and some magazines because they seemed interesting! I was very bummed at the "not available" thing as well, it was really annoying. First it was trying to find something that was available just to have it suddenly become unavailable as soon as I clicked the "Pay" button. It isn't that it suddenly got sold out, I'm sure it's just some type of error..

      Volks sent me an email saying that my card couldn't be verified because it's international, and I'd need to scan a front/back copy of it as well as my ID and fax them. I do not have a fax machine nor do I have time to do all that for practically one outfit ._. I proposed paying through PayPal, but if they don't agree, I will cancel my purchase. :(
       
    5. It is very possible that the items that you tried to buy were suddenly sold out because that is what their cart does when something is bought before you hit the pay button, and they are having a lot of traffic right now with the sale.

      If you don't live in North America you won't be able to purchase anything and Volks USA doesn't take Paypal.
       
    6. Volks put on a wonderful sale, but right now I am really disappointed. I know that frequently, items in your shopping cart can sell out while you are buying other items or trying to check out, so I was super excited when I made it completely through checkout with a bunch of the 90% off merchandise, only having a couple of items sell out on me during the process. However, this evening I received an email from volks stating that most of the items I had purchased were actually sold out. Apparently items were over sold, so even though I had received an order confirmation listing everything I bought, most of those items weren't mine to buy.:( I am really bummed right now. I don't understand how this large of an error was made.

    8. @Chehime I hope you're right about Volks' planning to do more events. I'd love for US Dolpas or something haha..

      I was surprised there were any orphans left at the showroom, since they were priced so well.
       
    9. I made an attempt to get some doll stands. I've wanted them for a while, and at the reduced price it seemed like a good idea. I keep waiting for an email saying that items I checked out with are no longer available, as I've definitely gotten those from Volks before... XD

I made my purchase within the first few minutes the site was up because I have had merchandise taken from my cart before :( They had to make price adjustments to my order though because the prices for the grab bags were wrong. Now I keep looking at the orphan dolls I want to bring home!
       
    11. Yep. I did my shopping in small batches. First I zoomed in and did the Ryo purchase. Then I put in for Pearl and finally I made a third order for the wigs, clothes, shoes and eye glasses I wanted. A lot of the clothing was sold out by then, but I did get some lovely things with no retractions as of this morning.

      I was done shopping entirely an hour after the site opened. And I've got to say, it was a fantastic hour for me. I wish it had been as much fun for everyone. I'm sorry so many people had problems.
       
    12. I did my online shopping in a couple of batches too. One thing was sold out in the first batch, but I was able to get it in the second.
      So I don't know what happened with that. I haven't gotten any emails from Volks, so I will guess I'm okay.
       
    13. I ended up buying the body and head for a DD custom girl that I plan to start, a wig, a set of underwear for my MDD and about a half dozen pairs of DD hands.
      Haven't gotten any emails about cancellations and actually shows with a tracking number scheduled for Wednesday, so should all be on all the way. I didn't wait for the special items and even the prices had just shown up on the site (I was adding stuff when the prices were only in the cart), so I think that paid off.

      Technically, I have a P.O. Box in New York, and almost every item I buy that can't be shipped internationally is processed through that address with no problem. My card is prepaid anyway, and the payment was confirmed and received. They just somehow want to make sure the card is really mine(?) or that it is in my possession :S

      Things like that confuse me, so I'm not going to be surprised if what I just said has nothing to do with the actual problem xD
       
    15. Welp, I successfully survived the sale unscathed. I was very tempted to enter for the MSD F18 and all weekend kept filling my cart with eyes and wigs then removing them, then adding them, and removing them but ultimately decided to wait because I've got a contract job in the works and in case I don't land it, it would probably be better if I hadn't spent a bunch of $ on doll stuff :sweat
      Now the long wait until Volks re-open shop and we get to see what kinds of changes occurred! :shudder

      I'm excited to see if any of you win any of the orphanage dolls!
       
    16. I did the same thing. But in the end, I opted not to try for the F-18. Although she is just so cute.
       
    17. Well, I got my email about things being sold out. Totally saw that coming. I'm still happy for what they were able to fill for my order. n_n
       
    18. I had to do my shopping in 3 batches the ones I really wanted were yanked out of my cart right before checkout. Mainly got supplies and some 27 cm bags which accessorize nicely with the yos. Now I'm waiting to see what part of my order was not sold out.

      I was looking forward to trying out for the msd orphans but both were molds I already had via FCS so left the chance for others. I really was hoping they had the msd f12 I had seen at the store 2 years ago.

    20. My order shipped, which I a very happy about because I feared I might loose some items. I entered for the MSD f18. She was the next girl I was going to do a FCS order for. The odds are never in my favor, but you never know! I really hope all the dolls find a home, especially the less popular ones.
       
    21. My stuff shipped today too! Should arrive by the 28th apparently! Granted, that's arriving at my sister's place so it'll be another 4 days before it reaches ME but...you know, getting close! xD
       
    22. Yes one of the things that I purchased was the Volks Binder. I am going to use it as a Profile Book for my Volks dolls and a scrap book of the Volks Events that I have been too. I hope I get to go to a face up class in the future.
       
    23. I did two orders and one of them came in today (2 27cm total bags and a $10 SD/DD/MSD lucky wig bag) :). I'm surprised and a little disappointed in the lucky wig bag. I was thinking that I would get at least 3 wigs for each doll type mentioned but I got two MSD short haired wigs. I'm happy that the wigs are short because I have two MSD boys and I don't know what I'd do if it were pigtails or long curly locks. Still I'm surprised that there's only two, but for the price...I really shouldn't complain. (The wigs were listed $53 each)
       
    24. I had two orders which shipped at the same time by Priority Mail Express. Both tracked well until today with an arrival day set at Friday, but my Ryo no longer tracks. The number is "not found" by USPS. I wonder if he fell off the truck.

      Sigh.
       
    25. Oh no, Merangel! Hope he arrives soon >__< My UPS tracking number hasn't updated all even though it says the estimated delivery date is tomorrow...makes me wonder if they even picked it up yet...

    28. I received my order. My doll is pretty and I love my supplies. I must say the lucky wig bag...well I wasn't very lucky lol. I got two MSD boy wigs as well. Alas I have no boys and the style leaves a little bit to be desired. But, you can't beat the price!
       
    29. All of my loot arrived today. Luckily, I am home today with a bad cold so I can play dolls as long as my strength holds out! I'll get some photos of my wonderful vintage Ryo when I feel a little better. I was holding my breath that they'd send the one in the cinnamon colored box rather than the newer makeup version. He looks amazing with my Ria twins...or he will as soon as I get those plastic eyes out of his head and stick in some nice blue Zouks ;)

    30. LOL sorry you have a bad cold but glad you were able to enjoy your Volks haul!

      I received my shipping notice the other day but barely looked at it again and saw that they combined my two orders in to one shipment and I was able to get my Fukubukuro. Yaay!

      My UPS tracking still hasn't updated from "Billing information received" and today is the estimated delivery date >__>; I just emailed Volks to find out if they've still got it or if UPS did take it and they just never updated their tracking.
       
    32. My first loot order arrived today. The 27 cm clothing bags were chock full of random items clothing and non-clothing. I was able to get 2 clothing bags. I got lots of button bags in both, one had a small doll stand and 3 wigs. The wigs tinies

    34. My tracking hasn't updated either. I've been staring it all week, and it's still at "billing information received" too. If it gets to Monday I'm going to email them to see what's going on. It shouldn't take this long for UPS to pick up the package, right?
       
    35. Considering that everyone is already receiving theirs, Minerva, I don't think so. When I last talked to volks about my billing address mix-up they told me my package would be shipping out the 25th. I would just go ahead and email them if I were you.
       
    36. Although...I did request Priority Mail Express, which might have made it into a speedier order pile. I don't know. But I agree that ringing them is a good idea. Best of Luck <3
       
    37. I had made 2 orders on the same day and one order shipped out on the 25th and the other the next day on the 26th. I would definitely email them to double check.
       
    38. My whole second order got cancelled because it was out of stock. Sigh. At least my first order arrived safely.

      My order practically doesn't exist, because I'm still stuck in the "We are Volks and we need to verify your card" stage. I paid and everything too, but they requested I send them pictures of my card by email. I'm sorry but that sounds hella fishy to me and I'm not doing that. I sent them a picture of it (to prove it's in my possession) and blurred the number, and the last email I sent was on the 25th. It's been almost five days now and they haven't said a word. Ugh, it's irritating.

      They said they would keep my order on hold, but I have a strong feeling they'll tell me it's sold out =) If that happens, I don't know what I'll do. After all that waiting, only a doll can make up for it, heheheh

    40. Chamillia, I'd maybe resend the pic but leave at least the last 4 digits and the expiration date unblurred. Otherwise, how do they know its the same card?? You're suspicious of them, but at this point I bet they're just as suspicious of you XD
       
    41. Chamillia, you don't live in the United States, and you said that your credit card was international. No offense or anything, but Volks USA pretty explicitly says they serve only North America. Even if your shipping address is in the US, they may choose not to complete your order because it is going against their terms of service.
       
    42. Chamillia- I wouldn't be surprised if they did cancel your order. They already have your credit card number, plus the other info that's on your card, whats the big deal sending a picture of your credit card. They are just making sure that card is yours, a lot of companies are like that now.
       
    43. Chamillia- Unfortunately, Volks uses UPS in the US, and they can't deliver to a PO Box (which is part of USPS). This will also be an issue.
       
    44. Hey guys, were there any special announcements at the Tea Party? Any news about Volks USA and how they will be changing their service?
       
    45. Not really, they said they where going to be fixing a lot of things. And that they will be listening to what the customers have to say.
       
    46. All in all it was all very positive information. They didn't give any hints on the new website or the restructuring of Volks USA under Shigeta san Jr but I think Volks supporters have a lot of fun and good things to look forward too!

    48. I have never heard of companies requesting pictures of anyone's credit card by email. I don't know, it's still suspicious :( I did send them a picture of the back side with the digits, but I dunno, they might not accept it or they will..

      I understand, it is a possibility that they cancel my order, but why would they ask for my card again if they know it's international already? :S

      Ahh! They haven't mentioned anything about my shipping address, so I don't know if it'll be a problem later on. We'll see. At this point, I just want a reply from them about my order. Anything will do, even if they reply cancelling it :/ Even though I really wanted that outfit for my girl :')
       
    49. Actually I think Dream of Doll used to ask for a copy of your credit card to be fax to them too but I haven't ordered from them in a long time so I do not know if they still do that. I do not think they will process your order if you email them a photo of it with the numbers blurred because that would defeat the purpose of them asking for it.

    51. Aw man, I just got the doom email from Volks. My order didn't ship because it turned out that everything but a couple of pairs of hands I ordered is completely sold out *sighs* Oh well, I found a cute DD06 girl on a DDII body for sale, so I'll adopt her in the mean time. With my refund I can buy her AND some clothes! Gotta look on the bright side, haha.
       
    52. I ordered tons of stuff many days ago as part of their sale. I got an email confirming the combining of my orders and a more reasonable shipping cost (vs $100 I was originally charged).

      Now just today I get an email stating most of these items are now out of stock. I do not understand where all these items disappeared to. Very sketchy. I am sorely disappointed and feeling very jaded against Volks.
       
    53. what happened is that volks sold more then they had. so as they are putting together orders in the order that they came in, if they run out before they get to the last order, then those orders are SOL. I just thing they got too many orders to fast to keep up with.
       
    54. I am just having a hard time wrapping my mind around how THAT many items could suddenly be out of stock at this point. Unless maybe the stuff sold out or got snagged in the physical store? Or they put those things in the fukuburo bags? It seemed like they only had stock of 1 on the website so things were selling out while floating in your online cart. I am fine with them taking awhile to sort out communications as I am sure it was extremely hectic, but can't help but be very disappointed that I can't get all those dream deals that I thought was in the bag. I wish I lived close to the Socal store.
       

    55. Just wanted to say that happened to me too. They wanted me to email them the photo of the card and my ID. I used my drivers license but I think a passport works too. I live in US tho, just have an international CC so... I blurred the first eight digits just to be safe. Once they put your info in the system, they don't keep asking you for proof. I've placed several orders with the same CC later on and never had any problems. Hope it all works out for ya! :)
       
    56. I emailed them over the weekend to see what's going on with my order but still haven't heard anything. I'm making an educated guess that nothing I bought was actually in stock, but it would be nice if they could take a minute to let me know this.

      It's a week later; that's way too long to simply not say anything about an order for which there is a tracking number. They really dropped the ball if they managed to oversell so much stuff. I think I'm going to give them an actual phone call after lunch to light a fire under whoever is packing these orders. I see a phone number on their web site.
       
    57. I'm guessing that those of us who had orders put on hold will lose out most of our order. I placed mine within the first ten minutes of the sale opening, so I'm pretty sure that they had what I wanted at that point. However, they didn't bother actually putting the items together to ship until the hold was off, which was a day or two later for me. It's a crappy way to run a sale, I placed the order in a timely manner, so my stuff should have been put aside, information delay or no. If I wasn't able to pay, THEN it should have gone back out for sale. I didn't even keep them waiting! I responded within the hour of getting their email!
       
    58. Finally got through on the phone with them. They were short one wig, so I had to approve the new total for my order and it supposedly will be shipped today.

      If you don't have your order, call them and get it straightened out. The number on their site is current, but they don't have voice mail or anything so the line may be busy for a while:

    59. That is very interesting! Maybe the final weekend and Tea Party was suppose to be in May and for whatever reason got bumped up to March? Or they accidentally wrote May instead of March?

      FunnyLori, I suspect that your Rei Tenshi isn't going anywhere so I don't think you have to worry too much about providence. ;)
