    1. While saving up for Elsa and the Frozen crews, I’m taking my Cinderella out of her box for a photoshoot. Winter please come quick :eusa_pray

    2. I took Caroline out to prep her for sale, but she has assured me that she is going nowhere, and is now back in the cabinet.

      Oh well.

    3. So many beautiful dolls here it's hard to keep up! It also reminds me I need to take pics of my boy soon!

While I was lamenting about desperately seeking an F62, one popped up on the MP just like that! I snagged him and I'm so excited to have the sculpt again!

Congrats to everyone being Lorina or Alice and I love the photos of everyone's dolls!

      • x 3
    4. @Black Pearl, I actually recognized your Suigintou also! I saw her for sale a long time ago, she was so pretty that I saved the sale photos :blush At that time she was on a SD13 body and she looked perfect! Congrats on getting her! Please do share some photos once you've styled her... I'll be waiting!!! :chibi

Um, doll tax? My beloved Williams, Belial! :aheartbea

    5. @overlordu - Gahhhhh Belial, my fave Williams.

My Rose is back from being repainted and now is horribly cute. Finally decided I am going to call her Ducky.

    6. I sure well do share more photoa :D and thank you a lot as I feel lucky already :XD::XD:

    7. Curious - has anyone tried putting SD17 Williams head on SDGr body? Will it look weird?

    8. I've done it before, and it looks no more weird than the SD13 Williams head on the SDGr body

      • x 1
    9. Hehe thanks @Kim :aheartbea Ducky is super cute! I love that bright yellow wig with the blue outfit.

    10. @overlordu Ahh I've always loved your Williams! He's so beautiful!

@demi.yu What a beautiful and enchanting photo! I hope you're able to get the Frozen girls you want too!

    11. @yin801122 Here's some pictures of my Williams head on the SDGrB body. Of course everything comes down to personal preference, for me the heads to big for this body and looks a little bobble headed. But for others it may work especially with loose fitting clothes that make the shoulders look wider. Also, there is some gaping, but most of it is at the front of the head right under the chin.

    12. Wow! So many gorgeous dolls!! I love checking in here. :D

I was curious if anyone had profile photos of their dolls. By that I mean a photo from the side. I rarely see that angle but it can be so powerful and lovely. Volks usually pays attention when sculpting faces to make sure they look interesting from the side, too. Care to share? Also, what makes the side view of your particular doll so interesting to you?

I’ll post one of Ducky, my f-22, because her nose is one of my favourites (as are her ducky lips).

    13. Thank you!! Very helpful to see the pictures :)

    14. Gorgeous boy!!!)) Can I ask which wig he have? Which Company? Looks great on him:)
P.s. Gays plz, anyone know how to remove very old hot glue from head? I heard about thinner? Which one? About freezer I am afraid and tools afraid to scratch also((( one-off head..(((

    15. @AnnoDomini, thank you so much!! :aheartbea
@Kykycik, it's a Monique wig! I don't remember the style or color... I have a lot of Monique wigs so I get them confused :sweat I used markers to make the dark roots though, the wig did not come like that.

Here's another picture of that wig, and it's in profile like @Aiko-chan requested! I personally think Williams has the cutest nose... :chibi
      [IMG]

    16. @overlordu He’s gorgeous! That nose is so pretty, as is his whole profile! I really love how the wig frames his face so perfectly, thank you for sharing!

    17. @overlordu Monique has gone out of business. Hold onto your favorites and take good care of 'em! Also, Good to see you around, it's been a while! :)

    18. @Aiko-chan, thank you so much! Many Volks sculpts have great noses, I think it's one of their strengths!
@idrisfynn, aww thank you. :aheartbea Yeah I kinda wandered off in 2018 but I've been getting back into dolls this year! And oh yes, I heard about Monique... now that you mention it, maybe I should figure out what wig this is and try to buy a backup if possible :eek:

    19. I love Link's beak. Here's my Akiva:

Ah, gotta love that classic Volks overbite, too. :XD:

      • x 11
    20. Thanks)) never see such model/style before from Monique, looks very realistic

    21. My doll tax of the day. Amabie looks pretty haunted here :abambi:

I’m addicted to SDGR girls now, thus I used to dislike its body for years.

    22. @nikittin I love the old Volks sculpts! They are so charming, and your Link is no exception. I love him!

@demi.yu Amabie is beautiful! She looks lovingly styled, excellent colour choices for her.

    23. Woohoo!

I just got an email from Volks USA yesterday that my Coco (F-60) from the FCS a couple months ago is in the states, and should be shipped in a couple weeks!!

I'm reeeeeeeally excited for her. Aaaaah.

    24. @AnnoDomini Thanks dear, I’m absolutely patient to wait for Elsa and perhaps Anna as well.

@Aiko-chan I appreciate the compliment for Amabie. She’s a bit difficult in different styles because of her make up but I will try my best to give her a suitable look!!!

    25. Guys, plzany help, who know older dolls..I purchase one-off Lucas from Japan auction, has certificate which said he is from 2006. I was expecting the head will b magnet type, cuz 2006 it is released after with black cat Lucas. But, surprise. None-magnet head, old type, I never see such type with Lucas/Chris. Only f-16. And that sd13 body, pure normal skin. Looks everything like black cat only none-magnet.. Any opinion? How it is can be? :) just wondering. Head plate very usually which said one-off.

    26. The Lucas sculpt is older than 2006 and older than Black Cat Lucas, which is probably its 4th incarnation.

See here: Where Angels Lie - A Super Dollfie Database - SD13

Volks probably used the older non-pureskin sculpt to make your Lucas oneoff. Maybe you can compare which month of 2006 your oneoff was welcomed versus the month Black Cat Lucas was released.

      • x 1
    27. Thanks for answer. You think Volks use older headmold to create one off, then right after that they make new type of head with magnet and released Black cat?.. If I understand right way what you mean:) here is his certificate.. Can't understand clearly everything, only that 2006 release date:(
      [IMG]

    28. Black Cat Lucas was released 5th May, 2006, this one-off is from 13th Feb, 2006.
Hence, your one-off is earlier than the Black Cat Lucas.
I too, concur with @Daniel Falls that Volks used the previous Lucas (2002, first release) to make your one-off.
It will follow the head cap despite it being in PS normal ^_^

    29. Thanks, guys. That helped:D I am personally first time meet such head, was surprised. I thought that there was old skin Lucas then Black cat release. I was really wrong :XD:
P.s XiaoCream, your girl is amazing beautiful:))

    30. @demi.yu your Amabie is so lovely, I love seeing her styled in different ways!

@Kykycik congratulations on your Lucas! Thank you for posting your question here, I learned a lot from the discussion!

@XiaoCream gorgeous as always. I love her new eyes! :D

    31. It's so fascinating to see all these one-offs resurfacing after they've been dismembered and half forgotten. It's pretty great that folks here can ID them sometimes.

Freddy got his proper eyes back, so that one less thing on my neverending dolly to-do list.

    33. I had a Lucas Hiroshima showroom ver which released in 2003. Your picture reminds him.

    34. Does anyone know the width of SD17's and SD13 boy's shoulders in cm? It's not on the resources wiki... Just out of curiosity

    35. @Kim She's so fantastic! It's funny to see new Freddy right next to old Freddy. But I think it turned out best for everyone involved.

    36. Hey, does anyone know the secret to attaching heads to the SDGr Girl body? I tried to put my Suigintou head onto the Gr body I got for her, but it just flopped loosely around. I just tightened the string, so it definitely shouldn't be loose. I tried 3 different ways and now I'm just at a loss, wondering if I just wasted my money.

    37. Which version of the body do you have? I’ve noticed that heads can be floppy and I had to suede mine for better posing.

    38. @Audrina Mystique Take the stupid neck ball out if you have that version, and suede the neck hole. Admittedly, I sold off the old SDGr body I had and replaced it with a newer one, and that was a factor in my decision.

      • x 2
    39. @St. James @DemonMiko I do have the neck ball version. It came with a kips, but it was too small and less than useless. Thank you for the info, I will try your suggestions!

    40. Do you still own him or head? If so mb possible to see head from inside?..headplate?
      Thanks.

    41. Hello!

It's rainy today so I spent time with my dolls. I took a photo of my Lucas, Reid. :)

He was my grail and I've had him since 2015. Even though it's been some time, he still makes me smile knowing I finally have him in my doll family. <3

    42. Volks USA announced the new FCS for August :) Which heads do you hope to see? I think F-35 or F-42 would be nice.

    45. @shinkei your boy is gorgeous! His wig makes me feel nostalgic and wonderful!

@beamlette your F-35 is wonderful! I too wonder what sculpts will be available this round :wiggle

Speaking of FCS, I received these two beauties over the weekend! The F-83 in sunlight I ordered through proxy, and the F-95 I snagged off the DoA Marketplace. Fortunately for me, I had ordered two pairs of horns with my FCS order, and he had head magnets! They were meant to be together :D

    46. 中原淳一・ぱたーん版 SDGr ロリーナ Sweet Dream Version ~リボンワンピース~

hi everyone, just wanna confirm something. It says there that if i dont win the lottery the payment will be canceled and no payment will be made. But, are there will be any hidden fees like conversion fee,etc from this payment cancelation? Also when i enter the lottery will this “transaction” appear on my credit card statement?

Sorry if these questions have been asked a million times :( Thank you

    47. A pre-authorization goes on the card when you enter the lottery. It's not a full-on charge on your card unless you win. As far as conversion fees, that's up to your card processor. Usually I don't see them for cancelled payments or pre-auth, but I would confirm with your bank/card issuer to be sure.

    48. So I just finished my first face mod, on a DWC-01 head, and gave him a quick faceup and dressings. When I got the head it had already had some sanding and removal work on it, so it was fun (and nerve wracking) to turn it into something. The lips were altered so I changed them a bit, changed the shape of the eyes, and evened out the work on the nose. I don’t have many boys (just a puki boy), so masculine faceups are not my forte. There are still some imperfections but I can definitely say I learned a lot.

Overall it was fun, but now I’m at the crossroads of whether to buy a body for him or sell the head and try something else. I’ll share a quick snapshot. I’m really feeling ‘pirate’ from this guy…

    49. Hi, sorry to butt in, I lurk this thread a lot but dont post because I dont have a Volks (yet :sneaky), but I have a question:

For those of you that ordered through Volks USA FCS, how do you check on your order?

My FCS order does not appear under my regular account history, only through the FCS page, which does not have a way to log in anymore. If I search the order # manually, it says "Error You are not allowed to view the details of this order."
(The same thing happens to me with lottery items-I can only view those orders if I log in directly on the lottery-won-items page.)

I know its probably fine but I really dont like that the only proof of my order that I have is an email.

@I<3MySD , I love them :chibi So precious!

    50. for someone new to volks sd, which would you all reccomend?

    51. If you're in the U.S, I'd recommend the Full Choice System (FCS). You'll see some of the more popular sculpts listed frequently. Actually, application for US FCS is opening in August.

If you have a lot more disposable income, you can research the more limited models, albeit they will be more harder and expensive to obtain. I'd also browse Instagram. You'll see some of the best owner photos and different renditions of a sculpt compared to company stock photos.

    52. @Cydril thank you so much! :chibi and regarding the FCS order, I haven't been able to figure it out either. I'm eagerly awaiting the shipping email from the April FCS though! Their site is a bit interesting to navigate.

@FenTreefern welcome to the Volks world! Be careful, they are very addicting :wiggle I second what @Ephemeral_Dream has said about the online FCS and looking at sculpts online. The wonderfully curated website tenshinokichi.com is a great reference for the different molds too!

    53. aaah I was going to enter for Alice in August but I prefer normal skin so I wasn't 100% sure, I never had a CE doll before so I was afraid to get Lorina, she is expensive and what if I don't bond with the CE head? so I decided to go for Alice but after I saw this...I feel 100% sure that I want this doll of Lorina in normal skin with open eyes and mouth! I wish I was in the hobby last year though :( she is perfect! and now I won't try to get Alice, I will wait for Volks to release Lorina with open eyes and the cute open mouth :love please please Volks, release her soon :atremblinI haven't felt such a WANT IT NOW for a long time until now!

AAAh thank you for these beautiful pictures! Lorina 2 is now my grail doll :D by the way, I saw the stands from your photos, may I know where did you get them? I'm looking for affordable stands. The $50 ones from Volks are a big no :eusa_naug it's too expensive. I got the $2 from aliexpress but they don't look so good. I like the looks of the ones you have, please let me know where you get them:eusa_pray

    54. Woot! SD16 girls are on the FCS menu this time! I thought I was going to have to wait until Fall to get a body for my Boyhood Williams girl. I hope Amethyst is one of the head choices.
Kinda ironic that F-72 is now available when I still haven't gotten a face-up for the one I bought secondhand a year ago.

      • x 6
    55. Ugh... I love and hate Volks for making F-72 available. That was the one FCS that I was really thinking about for a long time... Welp. Time to kiss the rest of my doll budget for the year goodbye.

Volks better not release the Frozen girls anytime soon, 'cause I'm going to need time to save up again. :doh

    56. Man I love this photo set! They look great as siblings! Also those clothes :D

Honestly there's there no wrong choice but School A has always been a favorite of mine and many others. Weirdly enough I don't own one yet but I probably should get on that. XD
It's an extremely versatile sculpt and very cute!

Also PSN(pure skin normal) sculpts are easier to find bodies and parts for! Some of the more popular sculpts are a pretty penny but with the right faceup any Volks sculpt could be unique and look amazing!

    57. Does anyone recall if both Tan (sunlight) and Amber (ebony) skintones were options for SD16s in the past?

    58. @DemonMiko that's correct! Last year they offered Pureskin white, normal, sunlight and ebony. I really hope they offer all 4 again this year!

      • x 1
    59. @I<3MySD :XD: I hope so too! I didn't think SD16 would be offered so soon but I'm glad they're back again.

    60. You're welcome! I hear you on the pricy-ness of Volks stands. I have a few for special occasions, but for everyday use (and because I have so many dolls :sweat) I use these from collectingwarehouse.com -- Kaiser White Doll Stands #3201 (For SD17 and Dollshe size, I use the 4001 size.)

--and these from dollspart.com -- U Shaped Saddle Stands [5900] - $5.95 : Dollspart Supply - Doll parts, supplies, shoes, high heels and accessories

They're not perfect, and not super-cheap, but overall they're reliable. :)
