What a surprise arrival before Christmas I didn't even know she was on the way because I did not get a shipping notification from Volks I had to access my account the see the pleasant surprise. Can't wait to have her home

 

@St. James Williams looks fabulous as an SD16! I always was curious how he would look as a girl. I wonder if anyone has swapped SD13 / SDGr Williams to a girl body? I think I remember seeing a Reisner girl before!

I seem to recall a stately and handsome SD13 Williams lady in period dress from some years ago, but now I'm not sure. And didn't someone else say they were going to put young Williams on an SD16? Anyway, I'm super pleased with how she came together, so I'm sure there will be others. Maybe Boyhood Williams will be the next one-off It girl like Michelle and Cain.

 

I've seen someone on IG with Romantic Glance and Midi Williams girls. Both looked really nice.

My one-off lottery winning from November arrived—I received Miruku last week, and opened her up immediately to check out her beautiful face-up! She was packaged so well and safely (thanks Volks!) Today I was able to take a few quick pics, hopefully some better ones to come. Her outfit was a nice surprise! I can't believe she's here and gets to live with me

My Lieselotte came yesterday and after spending an hour to remove her hot glue and adding another set of lashes, I would like to welcome Niamh! She is actually my second Lieselotte because I sold my first one in 2010, so hopefully this time I will be able to successfully bond with her



Hope that anyone else who is waiting for Lieselotte/Charlotte, gets their dolls soon!

I got a shipping notice for Lieselotte a few days ago as well! Just a few more days 'til she's here hopefully. This year my dolly dreams have really come true, now I need to tighten the belt everywhere else however.

 

My SD16 girl Okita (2010 ver. by Saifa) wearing Queen Titania fairy dress by Eva Workshop BJD I don't have an EID anymore, so was worried I didn't have any doll to wear this outfit. Thankfully, it fits the SD16 body so here is Setsuna in her new purple gown.

 

So many beautiful dolls! And congrats to everyone who’s received tracking or already got their dollies home! I have to wait for VolksUSA to get theirs before my girl comes home, so it’s very comforting and exciting seeing everyone else’s.

Thanks to a wonderful friend, I have my ultimate grail doll coming home, a Volks SD17 Williams head! I can't believe I actually am bringing him home, he's been my ultimate grail ever since I first saw him a few years ago. Then at Dolpa LA 2019 a few friends had Williams and RG Wiliams and it made me want him even more!

I have a question for everyone though. I've yet to purchase from Dollyteria, but does anyone here have any experience? I'm eyeing this listing for a Volks Tohya, who is on my wishlist

Dollyteria photos are always lacking a bit compared to Mandarake, but besides me thinking the listing is a bit overpriced for the condition ("severe" yellowing and dirt), does anyone else wonder if this is really a Tohya instead of a Kohya? The photos might be overexposed, but the resin looks quite pale...what do you think? Is it just the lighting? >.<

 

Buying from online secondhand shop always comes with some gamboling, in my opinion.
If you think it's overpriced, don't buy it then. You will always find other one if you are patient enough.
You can ask DT to take more photo, they will do if they have time. But remember, they are secondhand shop selling almost everything, don't expect great photos lol

 

You could always ask Dollyteria to see a close-up picture of the certificate to confirm model name. I would say probably Tohya, but worth asking. He looks like maybe a 2006 or 2007 if I had to guess age so I would expect yellowing.

 

This is definitely a Tohya (遠夜). They have the certificate which lists the sculpt, and I've never known DT to mislabel a doll, just take awful photos. You're safe to purchase if you wish

 

Like others said, they have the COA in the first pic so I don’t think they’d get it wrong but you could message them to confirm. They definitely have a lot of pictures that have overexposure. Every so often there is a photo where you can hardly see the thing because it’s so lightened. Pricing wise, can’t judge for this specifically, but on average, dollyteria has been trending high of late.

 

Thanks! Yes the main thing I was wondering was if it would be too much to ask for another photo from them. But yeah, I'm also considering just holding out for another to go on sale. I just don't see them very often so, you know how it goes.

Thank you! I was considering asking for confirmation on the cert also. Definitely there would be yellowing on any doll that old, but sometimes it's hard to gauge what they mean, since from my experience with Mandarake doll purchasing listings, Japanese shops tend to be more downwardly superfluous in their quality grading.

Thanks again to everyone! I appreciate this community so much leaving some doll tax of my Shiro T. I was worried about buying his SD13 body on Mandarake and it not being a color match due to different year makes, but thankfully the match was perfect and I worried for nothing.

I really like Anna!! Not so sure how I feel about Elsa, looking forward to seeing more pictures

 

I suppose it’s better for my wallet but right now it seems like Elsa misses the mark for me when it comes to the dress and wig - the dress feels too dark and the wig too poofy (though that could probably be addressed, the dress… I’ll see if more pics change my mind). I like the look of Anna. She and child Elsa are my favorite of the four.

 

I'm really appreciating the fact that I have avoided seeing Frozen or knowing much about the characters, so I don't have any expectations. Both of them are cute and repaints are gonna be fun.

 

This is a bit late (thanks, DoA notifications for deciding to not tell me about updates to this thread again!! T_T), but this strikes me as high for a Tohya on a stained SD13 body, regardless of one-off status. If you're not attached to the fact that it's a one-off, you can likely get Tohya's head from the 2008 release for around $350, give or take. I think mine was $325? A freshly exchanged (so like, totally new head) Kohya just sold in the MP for $400, too.

If you can get one from the 2008 release it'll probably have less yellowing too, and should be past the '05-'06ish generation of early pureskin that went banana yellow no matter what.
If you want the first/second release, I've seen fullsets go for $500 or less, and full dolls (but not full sets) for like ~$350.

I think it's definitely a yellowed Tohya, Dollyteria's photos are almost always overexposed.
