Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXI

I thought about grabbing a couple of Lucky Bags the other day when they were still in stock, but I've got so much incoming already and so much that needs to be outgoing.
Just got an update about the August VolksUSA FCS arriving in LA so we should be getting those dolls next month!

Shinku here! When I saw the e-mail this morning, my cats said, don't open it feed me first. The cats won the me first part. Second part was me getting to finally open the e-mail.

When I first saw the e-mail, I felt a bit shaky especially waiting. I entered for 3, and that was not easy to narrow down.

how very true about the cats. I do argue at times with the once a kitten, now must be at least 15 pounds. He is too clever for his own good. I have all the floor level cabinets , blocked with unopened bags of kitty litter. but for the hungry time, they have the pity me, I'm so very hungry faces on.

Got two different orders of the wigs (one from the first entry period and the second from the second entry period). I think overall the variety was greater the first time - I was happy with my first Midi bag since I got some blonds and pinks! The DD bag had the least amount of variety I think - mostly darker colors and short styles. I think the second round of bags had more duplicate styles overall.
I got a super pretty silver braid wig with bows that reminds me of the Captain Cecile wig - that one was my favorite for sure and I think that was in my first DD bag.

 

I got Belldandy SDGr one-off from the VolksUSA Holiday Greeting Event! She's so pretty.

 

Wow!! Belldandy is my absolute favorite Volks model ever!! She is a darling!! Huge congratulations!!

 

Wow! I won Victorique!?!! I’m in shock!! She’s been on my wishlist since she was released years ago. I’ve never won a one off before, so this feels incredibly special!

Did all the emails go out at the same time I wonder? Was it really early this morning? I think I saw the first report at 5 ish this morning.

 

Her smile won me over immediately when I saw the one off announcement! I can’t wait to see her in person!

As for the emails, the time stamp on mine was 3 am est, so Volks must have sent them out at midnight their time.

I haven't posted on DOA in a long time either, but I had to post here as well because I won Suigintou!!

 

I have to agree about Suiseiseki hehe. It will be really interesting to see just how yellow my Souseiseki head from her original release is compared because she's already the (adorable) banana of my SDs.

On a related note, I saw an amazing faceup match on a Sui the other day from Fulltamland! I've never seen resin painted to match come out so smooth! Usually it's really textured even when airbrushed, I'm super curious how they did it. They mention that it was a pain to do and that it's preferable to trade exchange the doll if it's possible

I'd totally suggest sending her head in to Volks for peeling too, it really makes a difference.

 

which Suigintou did you win from the USA lottery or Japanese lottery? Both are very pretty and congrats on either one! There have been a lot of winners on here especially for the US lottery!

 

Wow wow wow, the colour difference with the faceup is amazing...!

 

I think the wigs are ok, at least the quality is good. Most of them are not the type I want. But there is a surprise. The last one is very suitable for my Alice.

If her faceup ever gets too damaged to keep (I hope it doesn’t ever though) I’d absolutely get Ruby peeled. I bought her secondhand with a faceup from an artist who is very difficult to win a slot with. Here’s a (heavily edited to make her look not yellow) picture of Ruby ^^

 

The peeling service is such an awesome thing, especially for heads that can't go through the renewal!

Cassim is heralding in winter! SD17 Cecile was a struggle for me, but new eyes made a huge difference

I won in the USA lottery. I should be getting her end of January, I believe

I had a Suiseiseki that was lightly matched to a newer Maskcat body. The artist used cooler undertones when blushing to offset some of the yellow-ness,. My current Suiseiseki is pretty yellow and has uneven patches on her headcap and limbs. I'm honestly pretty scared of peeling/ sanding because I wouldn't like even the slightest change in features.

Fulltamland did an AMAZING job with that resin match!

 

Was there ever an announcement as to who won the lotteries involving the tenshi or hands? I just looked at the announcement here, and there wasn't any specific date that announcements would be sent out.

 

I've decided to start saving for an SD! Is there a size comparison between the various sizes? I'm not sure what the in stock dolls on Volks' website are.

I've had peeling done, there's like no change! My Tohya even retained their extremely delicate eyelid creases that I was really worried were gonna go. Their current faceup does more to hide them than anything >w<.
I don't think Volks would offer it if it changed the doll in a more noticeable way than just removing the uppermost layer of oxidation.

 

That's awesome! Their level of care, attention to detail, and innovation is impeccable

 

I ordered an FCS F93 through a proxy service back in September! After about three months he’s now complete and on his way home. I’m so excited to welcome my first FCS since 2008! And I haven’t seen much representation of the F93 since his release. I’ll be sure to share some pics when he arrives!

 

@TabletopPhantom Congrats! I've seen so few F-93s I can't even remember what he looks like.
