Oh man... he's distracting lol. My Shadow Shiro T. (who I originally color matched my SD13 Williams head too) is a tad bit warmer than this Claude body, so there is a slight color mismatch, but it's definitely very close. Volks is SO wonderfully consistent with their resin colors.

@Roterwolkenvogel : OOOH They used to go by Bloody X Crow right? ToT I remember this artist very well. They seduced me into loving a lot of Volks molds. No wonder I really enjoy your Cassandra so much.

@SeiNove : Yes I did! I originally matched him to my Shadow Shiro's SD17 body. My Williams is the original SD13 version, so he was so yellow, I really wanted to revitalize him but didn't want to pay a lot for the exchange service. Plus I'm not sure how to do that.

 

@Dybbuk Haha ... ! I didn't let my imagination past the first couple of lines of the song! If I do ever allow my imagination to run wild, then I'll post them. We can release the Volks Dollfie Mix '21~! Other hits could include, remixes of "Amazing Grace" and "Tonight, I celebrate my love for you." Wow! Williams looks great in any shade, doesn't he? Maybe your photos will inspire Volks to eventually release him in some shade of tan down the line? Somehow, I think they already know that people will line up for Williams in any colour.

Any thoughts if the DearSD Frozen heads will be the same as the SD13 & SDGr ones? Because that could seriously be dangerous. Part of me says on a licensing and production side says they will be the same head but on the side of aesthetic, I think the DearSD ones should be more childish and chibi while the SD13/SDGr should be a bit more mature. Fingers crossed that I don't like them!

 

@pris84 - no Volks music collection is really complete without Amazing Grace or Tonight I Celebrate My Love, but I think we also need Money (That's What I Want) to cover the sadness our bank accounts feel lol

Well, if we are adding music to the new album, we have to add Cheap Trick’s “I want you to want me’ because I feel like every time we enter a lottery, we are all praying that Volks wants us! I know I do! haha But I think there needs to be some alternative tracks like the morning exercises in Japan (because they play those before every Dolpa), plus a message from the president and of course a track of the screams of victory and defeat as the people run through big site. Of course, there could be follow up albums like the easy listening Beatles covers that gets played over and over again at Tenshi no Sato. Plus an entire CD (because they put it on repeat) of the same songs at every single Dolpa.

Volks, if you are reading, we love you (and support you!!) and have all just lost our minds waiting for the next Volks News and Frozen dolls to be released!

Sorry if this was already mentioned earlier, but it looks like emails have gone out regarding the Volks Dolls Party 44 After Event Limited Items Lottery. Congratulations to everyone that won the lottery and is getting a chibi or DD soon! I'm hoping that maybe once the limited items are paid for and are sent out (late February or March) then maybe we'll start hearing about the Frozen girls.

 

The email was sent last night @ 11:59pm. I couldn’t wait for the shipment in late Feb hopefully!!!

yeah it was really easy. I even got the starry night bag and the rose petal dresses I wanted.

 

Yes! I was pleasantly surprised; the website never crashed and I was able to get all the outfits I wanted. I hope that everyone gets to enjoy the same success.

 

I was able to get the SD/Gr nightgown set pretty easily! The site still crashed about 8 times while I was trying to get to Paypal, but that was still the easiest and most successful Volks clickwar I've ever participated in.

 

So far a lot is still available so if you missed putting an alarm (like me lol...) there's still a chance! (of course the nightgown I would have wanted is sold out XD)

 

I'm so very happy today I was able to order all of the outfits I wanted, as soon as I saw the emails that they were all finally available, I never clicked so quick to add to the cart! I didn't notice any crashing on my end so I hope everyone can get what they want, these outfits are so beautiful!

 

Woah, I just noticed that the price of the Petale de Rose outfits start from 12,100 - 14,000 yen! When did Sumika outfits get that expensive? Has anyone seen these outfits in person and can give an opinion if they're higher quality than previous sets?

Oh, man, the British Style Suit is so good - just a perfect fit on the SDGrB body - but Volks has started flagging all the SD17/GOU shoes as 'fits SD13 boy' and that's just not true at all. Poor boy might as well be wearing skis.

 

I decided to enter the Michele lottery. I know it’s very unlikely that I’ll win him, but given how much he goes for on the second hand market, it was too much of a good opportunity to pass up. Because I do love the sculpt.

My view is if I win him, I was meant to have him in my collection, if I don’t... well, money saved.

 

Couldn’t agree more, and honestly even on SD17 a lot of the shoes look silly. We’re these the ones that were released at the same time as the priest outfits? I also purchased them and haven’t even tried them on anyone yet after seeing them in person haha

 

Rigel has been on my wishlist for a while. I only lament the fact I’d need SD-sized clothes if I was lucky enough to bring him home, but I entered for him! Anyone know when they plan to announce winners? The lottery period was fairly short.

I've had this happen too! It's really frustrating and for the most part I don't trust Volks shoes whatsoever. At least with clothes I can generally guess how it's gonna fit based on how it looks on whatever type of doll it's modeled on.

 

I have a question. Did anyone else order option hands via the sheet that came with boyhood Williams and Cecile, and if so, have they shipped yet? I’m asking because one of my friends allegedly had them ship a whole month ago, but mine haven’t. This is the second time I’ve ordered option hands from a limited release - I also got SDCute hands when I got Renee, but I don’t remember how long I had to wait, all I remember is that I was surprised it was a fairly short time.
I ordered November 23rd, so it’s only been about two months which including new year holidays, so I don’t think it’s too odd, I just wanted to know if anyone else has had theirs ship.

Doll tax is Cygnus being a sassy detective, because I want to do more photo comics like this once he has more hands. The new lens I got recently is all the better for capturing his pretty features.

 

Yeah, I don't really know what's going on here with their shoes. The outfits are arguable because they do have quite a few sizes (dollfie outfits have gotten particularly bad with the one size fits all). But MSD/SDM/MDD shoes not fitting is unacceptable.

I've been sticking to older shoe releases but peeling is inevitable.

 

I haven't bought any shoes from Volks separately in a while but Michele's Boy's Dormitory outfit came with shoes big enough to fit SD17 boys. In fact my Williams is wearing that particular pair right now. They look ridiculous on the SD10 body. I never understood why they chose to make the shoes so big. It sounds disappointing purchasing a pair for a particular size and they don't fit properly...

 

I bought a pair of Volks SD girl sized cowboy boots several years ago and there were so big they looked ridiculous. I even emailed Volks about it because I was convinced it was a mistake. I was SO disappointed

 

Now I feel nervous. I grabbed several pairs of SD16 heels since the last pair I got fit so well and my girls could stand in them! I've had issues finding heels that both fit and don't buckle under their weight. Luts brand heels I'm looking at you. Ah well, I'll find out when they get here.

 

@Psycho Sukafu If it puts your mind at ease I've never has issues with any of their heels. Only boots/regulr shoes.

 

I have a pair of shoes from a MSD Rose Tea welcome outfit that fit my SDs perfectly so idk what Volks is on with their shoes

 

@Torino I just have to tell you that your Cygnus is so cute that it pushed me over the edge and I just bought a Cecile. I couldn’t resist that face any longer!

And here I was, patiently biding my time waiting for Elsa…

 

Yeah, I found that the default boots that came with my SDM Liz fit one of my SD girls, so it's been the same for a while (SDM Liz was released in 2013)...mind you, it was a close fit, so maybe it's got worse...

 

At least I have some bigger boys, so the skis won't go completely to waste - they'll still be a little too big, but they'll at least appear to be in proportion. Not like on the poor SDGr, where they were so obviously too big.

That being said, I had a pair of older psuede MSD shoes literally crumble to olive-colored dust in my fingers, so it's not been a good week for Volks shoes all 'round!

 

I know at least with men's shoes for quite some time in Japan, the in look has been extremely overly too long shoes, and I've honestly just always thought that the Volks boy's shoes looking like boats reflects that. I've seen guys wear shoes that look just like Reisner's fullset shoes. I honestly don't mind them running large because it makes it so much easier to get them on and off and I never have to worry about stockings making things tight.

 

Cinderella would never have stood a fighting chance if the fairytale world were as cavalier as Volks' opinion of shoe size and fit... ah but jokes aside, that really sucks. I only have a couple heels for SD16s and SD13s (from assorted companies)- are their SDM/ MSD girl shoes as bad as the boys'?

 

This whole shoe thing is pretty scary. Just asking: is this something that's happening recently or has it been happening for years now?

 

@idrisfynn Forever grateful you were able to test those little Tevas on a Gr foot for me! Otherwise I never would have bought them. Anymore I only buy shoes from other makers and make sure that they list the inner measurements of the shoe.

Shoes have pretty much always been a gamble... Eset, an SD16, is currently wearing a pair of boots that I bought way-back-when for Minrai. (The first SD10 girl in the crew-) We're not even going to talk about the boots that came with my Alain's outfit. 'Pretty sure I recall the best fit I found for those was my SpiritDoll Herculean guy. Who has feet about the size of a small bear's. <_<

 

@eleniel As you mentioned of Ryoya, I wonder if Volks’s gonna reboot him in the future.
