Does anyone have a good store to get discount Volks SD13 outfits at?

 

Omg I'm sorry, I misunderstood and thought you were asking where to find the expiration date! I just assumed that you'd have to put the 500 yen listing in your cart and check out again. "* After June 4, 2021, all new members or renewed GL members will switch to automatic renewal." makes it sound like you have to do it manually until the 4th.
I don't have CC info saved to my account so I'm not sure how they can even switch me to automatic renewal?

 

Official ones? Mandrake has a bunch of secondhand outfit sets at discounted prices, but the shipping is still pretty high since they've only been using DHL.

 

I am so so excited! I am joining a split order for a FCS! I will be getting a pair of the droopy cat ears head pieces, and an F-85 head with the Dark makeup style! I am so excited because 85 is basically my favorite Volks sculpt besides William's so I'm really excited to be getting one!

 

my GL membership expires on 6/2. there is now a working link when I log into my page for registration/deletion of credit card information. I'm not sure yet as I have never left my cc information for automatic renewals but it seems that this is now the only way to continue with my membership?

 

I’ve been excitedly waiting to place a FCS order with Volks! A long time ago, I fell in love with Megu, but I missed out in the chance to get her. I was just thinking I could always get a standard SD and was focused on other dolls that were released.

Now I’m wondering if I should get a 01 head with FCS or I should wait to see if someone has one for sale. I know there is no real “worth it” as it’s just what people want, but I also really have a need to get my money’s worth. Tear.

Are old school 01 heads easy to come by? I don’t have marketplace access yet, and I haven’t seen them in my fb group. Thank you!

It looks like they'd be a good pair to me, based on their heights being relatively close... but wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts - or photos!

ok just checked the market place. There is a couple of wanted in there for that head. So I think it is worth ordering her FCS if you can. I do see the old school heads come up from time to time but they will be slightly yellowed as they are old now meaning from 2003 and upward.

** Also the older bodies do not have the double jointed elbows which is really nice to have !

Keep posting regularly and you will get access to the market place. I think part of your count total includes things like comments in gallery section it doesn't always have to be an actual thread started by you :-)

Also old skin white is a nice creamy white while the current Volks white is quite stark white.

Looks like we are getting 3 new heads for the FCS in June, F68 (SDGR boy), F70 and F78 (SD/SD13). Is this the first time these are offered through the Volks USA FCS?

On Angel's Base, there are comments about re-released for several limited dolls. But not sure whether Volks will do that for preorders.

Has anyone here done the one-off satogaeri service? I was trying to search twitter for examples (kind of like before and after shots), and didn't come up with too much. I found a Classroom that was redone by aone and was so lovely. Would love to see more! I think it would be so cool to have an older one-off redone through the service. The wait is really long - 3 to 5 months, I think. And it is tricky for overseas customers. But I am probably going to be travelling to Japan in the future, hopefully for a decent chunk of time, and am toying with the idea of maybe having one of my dolls serviced if I am over there long enough or through a friend. My doll doesn't have an old make-up - in fact, it is pristine, but there is a rub to the nose from when I first received her (I think the mask slipped and removed a spot of sealant). So, it would be quite an expensive and long journey for a tiny blush fix, LOL! But I thought it would be so neat for some older one-offs to get redone as I have heard that the artists try to replicate the make-up as best as possible, and I think that even if the make-up artists aren't available (K. Mayura or Valico), that another one-off artist will try to replicate the style as best as possible?

I am just so intrigued by the service that I think it will definitely be the way for me to go in the future when one of my dolls needs a little refresher. Is it strange that I am kind of tempted to buy an older one-off to send off on a return home journey now? Because of yellowing, some may choose to exchange the head as well (but this is only available for some models), but I think I would just go for peeling if I needing that done for any doll.

 

Haven't posted in a bit. I recently received my grail btssb dress and I'm soooo in love with it. Chii looks so sweet in it!

 

So here I am again, I've been trying to figure this guy out, I was so close to posting him for sale, he was actuallyreminding me of someone I didn't want to remember... Still not too sure but I thought an image change might help so I tried different clothes and hair.
I'll say it's kinda working for me, lol!

Don't look for perfection in my pics, lighting isn't too good, it's cloudy and raining,clothes have been in boxes for YEARS, so have the wigs. One of these days I really need to get everything out and sort them out and make an inventory or something.

@dollxheart She’s beautiful! It’s like the outfit was made for her, I always love seeing a Chii!

@himitsu I really like this look for James! The hair and eye combo works really well together, especially with the sunlight resin.

I was playing around with wigs and Ducky ended up staying with this choice. I think it works for summer and her light colour aesthetic.

 

@Aiko-chan, I've been thinking of letting my Kun, Amanda, go, but seeing Ducky is really making me rethink...

I tried to find a pic, but came up blank, even in a group shot - she really is neglected, poor girl!

 

@Alice80 What I love about Kun is her versatility. Just trying on different wig and eye combos can make a huge difference, especially if you’re up for a new faceup. I don’t think I’ve seen another sculpt that can change its looks as much as this one (which is why I can’t help but play around with Ducky). Maybe a little playtime with Amanda will help.

 

Has anyone ever ordered from Volks through FCS, and had to change their address partway through the delivery period? Looks like this FCS opportunity cuts a little close to my move date this year... I wouldn't dare risk having a doll delivered to an old address, so I'm curious if anyone has worked with customer service in a similar experience.

 

If this is about Volks USA, I didn't order FCS, but I had to change an address on a lottery doll that got delayed and it was fine. I just emailed them and explained the situation. I also think I left a note about it in the order comment section that I might be moving during the expected delivery period for the doll.

Also, if you're going to have your items shipped via USPS they have a change of address service that lets you have them forward all of your mail from an old address to a new one for free for up to 6 months.

I went to look at the FCS boys they're offering now. I thought F-16 would be discontinued but he's there! Sadly F-17 isn't listed though.

So then they only discontinued F-17?

 

Btw I am also surprised to see f-16 again)) of course I am happy he still exists in fcs, but Volks, as I we've officially noted that he discontinued from 2019-2020(not sure)..

Question to all the US people . Are they offering their FCS dolls in tan? And if so is it the same tan as the sunlight one that's offered in the japanes FCS.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if we see some in the online store in the Fall/Winter. I suspect some people may have cancelled their orders and they would likely end up in the online store for lottery or first come/first serve, so maybe keep a watch? Good luck bringing them home!

I guess I totally missed something because I thought FCS had more than six head options *cry*. I really wanted number one.

 

I finally gave her a face-up. She’s a DWC blank head which I ordered from Volks USA last year.

 

I'm trying to buy the GL renewing membership right now, but every time I try to check out the Volks International site says:

• "The phonetic format is incorrect. Please enter in the full-width katakana. (Last name (Kana), First name (Kana))"

I tried putting my name in Katakana in the credit card name field but that doesn't work at all. Is there a way to fix this?

 

Same problem. I've never had issue with purchases from Volks JP before, however this problem occurred this time. I couldn’t fix it If anyone knows how to fix it, please help us.

 

This error message came up last year when we were trying to buy GL memberships the first time. I don't think there was a definitive answer but editing details worked for someone?

I emailed Volks about the katakana problem and they replied and said that they have corrected my information. I logged in and all I think that is different is that my last name is now before my first name in my account. But I was able to place my order with no problems and could write my name in English in the credit card field. So I think this isn't something we can fix ourselves. I'm just happy this didn't happen while trying to place an order for a limited item.

Indefinite? So the auto renew worked for me. But I guess if you want to cancel, you have to email them to stop the yearly payment.

What company bodies match the volks normal and white skintone? I want something similar to the volks sdgr body features. Also, easy hybrid that doesn't require any adjustment as I am not good at these things.

Hello all! May I ask a question here? Would anyone be able to tell me the features of an original "4 sisters" doll like Megu? How would I deterime what is her first release versus the 2004 update and 2008 renewal?

 

Do all Megus have the plate? Even the earliest models?

 

No, they actually don’t. I have one of he oldest 4 sisters Megu (the sculpt began in 1999.) She looks normal skin now but she’s actually old skin white (quite yellowed after all these years and blushed with some pink to match her current pureskin normal body.) Her face-up has of course been redone over the years. Here’s her photos, showing her markings.

 

Thank you! I like history and the 'first modern bjd' has gotten my attention. I really want a megu (or any of the 4 sisters) in their earliest form (1999-2001 I think?). . . Proving to be difficult to find and tell apart so I want as much info as possible to help me identify the originals versus the updated models. . .

 

I currently do not have a specifc doll that I am looking at, just going through photos online and trying to tell the different sister versions apart so when I do see one for sale I can determine if it is one of the earliest models or not.
If I do find one that seems vague I will definately Ask the Moderators!
