Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXX

I was thinking about what kind of clothes to buy after ordering Lise, but I finally solved my problem today! I just ordered New school girl uniform from Volks, but still not sure if the price is worth for the clothes or not lol..
Does anyone know if they going to ship the items once we made purchase or pre-order based ?

 

That was the easiest clickwar I've ever participated in. In and out in a minute and a half even while tethered off of mobile data. Looks like everything's still in stock too? I'm glad it's been getting less stressful to deal with + production numbers seem to be up.

@Starphase the items are in stock but it takes them a very long time to process international orders. Japan is also in a state of emergency due to the pandemic, so I'm assuming these might take about two months to ship. Usually it's 3-4 weeks for them to ship international orders.

Sharing Miya, my Rinon on SdGr body. She is my first successful eye change doll. I am happy I took the courage to finally change default eyes. She looks prettier, imo. I might send her for a new face up, but I'm enjoying this slight change to her now. I also tried on this uniform for the first time and I think it suits her well.

Guys, does any of you own an ever beauty volks doll? it's really expensive, almost like buying a new doll, is it worth it? I read it feels like porcelain... I've never touched porcelain so I don't know what that means. I like the smooth feel of resin and matte but is the resin worth $700+? Any help with info and photos is highly appreciated!

So, the ever beauty is a resin that will never change color? my oldest doll is turning yellow, I wish he would have stayed the same color he was when I got him so if this is true, that the resin will never change color, I think the price tag is worth it! what do you guys think?

 

@Arletstar I think the Ever Beauty resin is only available for Full Choice dolls ordered from Tenshi No Sato?

I think it's worth it if you have a FCS doll sculpt that you love and would like to reshell into an ever beauty resin form.

 

I love SD Mai or f81 with all my heart is the type of doll when you see for the first time and you suddenly hear the bells of love and can't stop thinking about it. I only felt this way with my first doll. I have many dolls but they were purchased because "oh so pretty" and "oh they're cheap" lol
I ordered her already through an amazing proxy but I wanted to see pics of the ever beauty resin, I found threads of 2018 of people asking about it but no pics is it the same as normal resin (I thought the texture or color might be different) but the color lasts longer? that would be nice, to get old with my dolls while they remain pretty. I would pass them on my little niece who likes my dolls. How do we know it is EB, does it come with stamp or a booklet?

 

@Arletstar Mai is an enchanting sculpt. I don't think you'll regret the choice at all.
There aren't many photos of Ever Beauty dolls out there, because of the cost and the challenge of finding a good proxy.
I think it was only introduced in 2018. So it won't be easy to see a difference to regular resin for a while.
Ever Beauty dolls have a different style of headplate. I will try and find an example. Here's one. I don't know if there is a different marking on the body.
You're very lucky to have this beautiful girl coming to you I hope you'll share lots of photos!

They have samples of the Everbeauty resin at Sato but no photos are allowed. It's pretty close (the color is slightly different than to their pureskin resin colors) and it withstands yellowing from sunlight/UV rays far better than the normal resin. But no one really knows how it will behave over time because it's only been around for a few years. It's probably worth it if you're really bothered by yellowing or plan to keep your doll in a very sunny area for long periods of time, but otherwise it's a huge investment. Volks' resin is pretty stable and the way it yellows is very predictable anymore, so I'd suggest looking at how their regular resin has yellowed and decide if you're ok with that or not.

Also flickr works for uploads! It just compresses them terribly, but I haven't found anywhere that doesn't :<

 

Ever Beauty is Tenshi no Sato only. I've seen and held an Ever Beauty in person and there is a ... glow? or a luminance? to the resin. And it felt a little heavier to hold? It's been a while since I have been to Sato so trying to remember. Volks does say that there is almost zero yellowing or aging (like 1%?). I didn't find it like porcelain. It had a nice feel to the resin but I wouldn't describe it porcelain like. I think if you are buying a 'forever' doll and you hate any sort of aging, I think it's worth the cost, especially white skin. Ever Beauty is definitely on my list.

 

It may be that people call it "porcelain" resin because actual porcelain doesn't change or age. So, an actual porcelain doll, the porcelain parts will look the same 1000 years from now as it did on the day it was made. Possibly an advertisement that Volks' porcelain resin doesn't change.

 

@Arletstar I think if the ever beauty really does not change color then yes it is worth it. We can just send the head of our favourite sculpts to satogaeri service to renew over the years and not worry about changing the body too. This is quite appealing!

 

I think Ever Beauty may be confused with PS Bisque?
PS Bisque was the one heavily advertised as feeling like bisque (unglazed porcelain)

As others have said Ever Beauty is a little translucent, but more opaque than French Resin.
The color is *close* to the pure skin equivalents, but not the same.
Fair/NS and White are a bit more peachy and the Tan/Sunlight is a little more warm I guess.
But that's just my personal opinion.

 

thank you everyone! I appreciate all of your comments hopefully I can visit Japan someday and see the EB, I was planning on getting my girl in EB but decided just to go with the regular resin.

Today is the last day of the preorder for 3 beautiful girls, I feel a sense of sadness for not getting Charlotte after consider her my grail for a long time and now that I have the opportunity I buy another doll I hope to see many of these girls here soon!

@purplepaws She's so beautiful! I think this is the first time I've seen Lieselotte in a short wig and she's just adorable in it.

I already have my girl planned out. I feel like this will be the hardest wait for a doll I'll ever experience.

They are estimated for Fall/Winter 2021. It’s still going to be a little while before we see any of them. The pre-order period just closed.

 

oooh I can see why it will a hard waiting experience, I didn't order any but I want to see owner photos. This is why I prefer lotteries sometimes. The dolls are ready to ship!

 

@Arletstar - I know the One-Off lotteries are ready to go, but for the other Volks lotteries that I've entered for in the past, I've still had to wait at least a few months. I wish they were ready to ship! That would ease so much of the doll itch while waiting.

 

I know when I ordered my F62 the shipping estimate was spot on. I ordered in March and she was shipped in June/July, which was stated during the order period, so I trust the shipping estimates. Of course, that was pre-covid. I really wonder if they factored in the covid shipping mess plus the volume of orders received when they quoted Winter 2021. I think that might be the case because it seems like a long wait time for Volks, but I could be wrong.

 

oooh my MDD Arle from VolksUSA was shipped very fast, like 2 weeks later after I won the lottery but that was before covid so maybe things are different now :[

 

It also depends on whether you order through Volks International or Volks USA. Volks International is usually faster since with Volks USA the dolls have to first be shipped to them by boat, and then checked and repackaged.

 

When I won Beth from Volks USA in 2017, it was about 5/6 months between lottery entry to arrival. For Kiriko in 2016, it was about 3 months. I think it really depends on a few things like the doll's popularity, the number of orders, etc.

 

If it's Lottery they are limiting the number of the items so they can ship it earlier than pre-ordered. Many people expect Volks to start to ship this pre-ordered by end of the year lol..

 

does anyone know if a fitted look SD16 size clothes can fit SDGR bodies or will it look baggy?

 

You guys, I have wanted a Williams since his very first release and after all these years I finally took the plunge! Woo, I’m so out of breath with excitement! I can’t wait to welcome this boy home after all these years! I found one on Mandarake with a broken hand and he just melted my heart. Fingers crossed he’s still there, I’m awaiting confirmation from them now. Omg, thanks for letting me vent my excitement!

The Disney releases have historically taken a lot longer. At the last LA Dolpa they said it was something like a two year process because of the back and forth with Disney execs. I wouldn't expect the Frozen girls until winter, especially since the pre-order girls that were just released don't ship until Fall/Winter.

Yay! I just wanted to share my Amabie is finally out for delivery. Seamail was a super annoying headache to deal with and I’m never doing it again.

 

Miko finally got her outfit! This poor girl has been waiting so long to be styled, and now she is! She was never really a dress and skirt girl like the rest of my doll gals so sharing clothes has been tough.
