Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXX

Some of the LeekeWorld 'L Girl' size heels work for SD13 girl feet. It's definitely a hard size to find nowadays, everyone makes SDGr/SD16 heels that don't fit. XD Kind of wish they'd add an F-04 foot part for SD/SD13G that's the higher heel. (And update the legs while they're at it...)

 

On the one hand, I LOVE the dainty little feet that SD10 and SD13 dolls have...But on the other, I also wish they'd make an "SDGr Style" foot for them because it is just such an ordeal trying to find shoes that fit.

 

That would be AMAZING.

For anyone else in Florida wanting to preorder, the governor just signed a bill that requires the collection of sales tax on all online purchases regardless of a physical store presence in Florida. I believe it was effective as of Tuesday the 20th at 12:01am.

Needless to say I’m so relieved to have paid for Lieselotte on Monday.

 

Am I correct in assuming SD13 hands are compatible with the SD body? I feel like they would be because you can order them in the FCS..but I'm not completely sure. I'm thinking of ordering my Lieselotte some extra hands.

 

Yes, but only for the girls. Boy hands and feet are not interchangeable. (Boy SD10 hands are the same as girl SD10/13 hands, but the boy SD13 hands are different)

 

My state had that law passed a couple of years ago. I pay sales tax at all other stores but I still don’t get taxed at Volks USA.

 

I really hope that’s true for my state, too! It’s good to hear from other states that have had this law for awhile, figured mine would eventually, but the timing was crazy, lol.

 

it's so complicate that all states has different tax rule. Hope it's not true that Florida apply those tax rule..

Yeah for a heel aesthetic I definitely prefer the lower SD13G look. The foot looks so much nicer to me than the super-high SD16/SDGrG look. :<

I live in Cali so I always get sales tax, so there's been times when even with international shipping Volks JP was cheaper for things, but I still usually try to order from VolksUSA anyway because I want to support them.

It's Switch 70 attractive body! The neck part fits perfectly!

 

Good to know about the fit! My Cristal boy is on the Switch HD65 body and it works well because the neck is just a hair smaller than an actual SD17 neck. Had been wondering about the Attractive body.
Now that Kaspar is on an SD13Revival, I think my Cristal is the only Volks hybrid in my crew? I mean, there are always other heads on Volks bodies, but less so the other way around.

Is that the rosy white skin from Switch? Such a gorgeous look. From photos, the sculpting of the shoulders/chest of that body seems closer to the SDGou, with the height difference being in the legs. Virtually all of my boys are Volks or Switch, so I love seeing when collectors have blended the two. My Soseo is on an SD17 body.

Is it Winter 2021 yet? I know I /just/ ordered Lieselotte, but I want her now!!

 

@tiyama I should have known it was a Switch body! They've got such beautiful sculpting...But how about the resin match? I thought Switch resin was usually pinker than Volks resin? (For that matter, how's the resin match with Crobi? I like having options, lol)

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction for how Sunlight or other tan Volks resin ages? I'm leaning towards a sunlight FCS or two in the near future and I want to do research before diving in.

 

@GammaVector Two of the rosy white Switch heads I have are noticeably pinker then my Volks' white. However, I have a rosy white Waseon head as well which is a good match for Volks' white. I bought that head when Switch was discontinuing their old white and were allowing people to either choose the old white or the new rosy white. Now that I have two more heads in rosy white and seeing they're significantly more pink then my Waseon I think I might have actually been sent my Waseon in the old white. I'm actually OK if that's the case because I'm not really happy with the rosy white color. I keep wanting to put one or both of their head caps in the sun for a few hours to see what color change if any I get.

 

Thanks for the info! If you ever do decide to test the color change on those headcaps, I'd like to hear about the results.

 

My sunlight SDM still looks gorgeous after 3 years and still matches her option hands that I have kept stored in a box for most of that time. My similar aged or even newer tan dolls from other companies have started to take on a bit of a green tinge. Sunlight probably has the added advantage of being quite light and quite red-toned compared to other tan resins. I imagine that even if it loses some warmth or goes a little green with time, it won't be very noticeable - vs a tan that is darker and more cool toned is more apparent when it starts to green.

 

Yes it is! The colour different is quite big, but given my F31 is rather old, and this can be fixed by make up, so it's not a problem
It's thicker than SDGou all over, I haven't tried with the shoes just yet XD

Volks normal skin matches with Crobi normal skin quite well, definitely it's not 100% match due to age and such, mine are like 80% match, I'm very happy about it!

Here's my Huan (Volks Claude) with Crobi B line body, the neck line again is a perfect fit! Plus, the body can use Volks hand parts (with additional wrist part)!

 

Does Shadow skin change much? Asking for a guy from 2013 who's showing up on Monday.

 

Does anyone have any recommendations for eye size for the standard SD Mai? I know she comes with 20s, but I'm hoping she'll be fine with 18mm EDs or Makos?

similarly, are leekeworld 8/9 wigs fine? is there any hope of squishing her head in a 7/8?

 

@St. James - I have an original Claude the Beast who looks great after all these years in a tropical climate. He's been through a lot: hurricanes & a lifetime out of the box.

Fantastic! I'm so excited. I feel kinda guilty for being this excited since it means I'm replacing my Amakusa, but it's so much better for the character and I miss having a Claude in the house.

 

Oh, your Huan is lovely! It's such a shame Crobi doesn't make the B Line boys anymore. But IIRC the M Line body has similar measurements...I wonder if it would also work with Volks heads.

I must admit, as much as I love Volks head sculpts and their younger bodies, I'm not a huge fan of either the boy or girl SD17 body. So knowing about other options that'll work if I ever got one of those heads makes me happy!

I don't have a Mai, but it seems likely that 18mm eyes should work for her. They work well for my DWC-02, and he's got pretty big eye openings. Not sure if they're bigger than Mai's, because I've only seen her in photos. But I know they're on the large size for recent Volks sculpts.

As for wigs, I don't think there's gonna be any chance of getting her into a 7/8. My DWC-02 can juuuuuust baaaarely get into a Volks 8/9 (which is the Dolfie Dream size as sold by Volks, btw), but it really wants to pop off a lot. If the wig cap weren't stretchy there's no way it would work. A 9/10 wig fits properly, and is probably the best bet for Mai too. (It's the size sold as SD size by Volks)

In my experience, Leekeworld wig caps aren't super stretchy. I have one 8/9 wig by them, which I just tried to put on my DWC-02, and it was a no-go. Couldn't quite get it onto his head. But some Leeke wigs are a bit stretchier, so who knows. It might work.

 

Crobi still offer B-line boys! The lastest one was in Dec 2020!

@GammaVector Volks heads fit well on Crobi’s M line body too, I’ve had a SwD School A on this body for several years.

 

I checked the website and found that I was indeed mistaken! I don't remember when or where I'd heard they'd B-line boys had been discontinued, but I'm glad I was wrong.

I ordered from Volks International on April 19th. The money was withdrawn immediately from my bank. Everything was smooth as I checked my bank daily. However, my bank’s balance is increased today as I figure out that the Volk’s transaction on April 19 was gone. What’s going on. This has never happened to me. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

 

Usually that's a case of the hold on funds expiring, so it will be withdrawn again when the charge actually is approved. Might want to call your bank to verify.

Low-quality picture, but here is Mai in 20mm EDs. 18mm are okay but leave more white exposed. 22mm EDs can't fit into her eyewells.

For wigs, Leeke 8/9 is too small. If you want Mai with a 7/8 head, get an SDM F-33 instead

 

On the subject of feet, I did a search of the forums and can't seem to find anywhere to get SDGr heel legs on their own? So if they made separate heel feet with that dramatic arch, I'd buy them in a heartbeat! For some reason my Angela didn't come with a pair of heel legs so I'm making an ISO post and kind of praying the shoes I ordered will be shallow enough to cram her flat feet into.

It seems like Volks isn't including both sets of feet with the SDGr girls anymore. It's now either one or the other but usually include a sheet for owners to order option parts for a limited time.

I have a bunch of 7/8 wigs laying around as many of my girls wear 7/8s or 8/9s, so I was trying to hope and pray that there'd be some sliver of a chance, but I'm not surprised! This is what I get for welcoming a new doll style into the house again. Guess she'll live in whatever wig she comes with, for now

 

I am kicking myself so hard right now, I got her around September 2019 well before the deadline But on the other hand, they ship to Japan only, so not sure how far I would have gotten with this.

I scored a Classroom C head recently, and now I'm looking for a body for it. Does anyone have measurements of the head, and which company's resin would best match a Classroom C head? The seller didn't state whether it was yellow or not, so...

 

Volks has changed the system for this since the Silver Coin boys' sale, they are taking orders online through the link of the form. You don't need to be GL member for that, just the link. Just look out for the next, well current!, SDGr girl sale, and try to join the owner to get extra hands and legs together via the link!

Haven't had a School C in the house for years, but it's a smaller head that takes 8-9in wigs. Fits on SD10 boy/girl and SDGr girl bodies best. Not sure they've even released those in white, so stick to pureskin normal matches and bodies in the 60cm range.

 

I'm thinking about get Lucia from the VolksUSA store, so I was wondering which legs she comes with? I think it was the heel legs, and if so, how to I purchase extra parts like the movable legs and flat feet in the VolksUSA store?

 

You will be provided with a link to purchase extra hands and leg parts once you've gotten your doll. It's usually a shop page that's only visible when you are logged in and are recorded as the buyer of the doll. Usually you get three months to place the order (it will list your deadline) but can only place one order. The parts will ship later. I can't recall exactly how long it took mine last time.

Now if I do get Lucia, I wonder what head I should get. I currently don't have any plans to get another head as there aren't any sculpts that appeal to me. Decisions, decisions!

This is a School C head on a regular SD13 girl body... The proportions aren't bad, in spite of the head being a little smaller than the School A.

@ashlia she's on the SDGrG small bust body which thankfully fits this Musedoll dress! Haven't yet tried my other Musedoll on her, I was just elated because yes, no way in hell to squeeze the regular chunky Volks bodies into a Musedoll outfit

You know what service I wish Volks would offer? A trade in service on limited wigs! Anyone getting those girls, my suggestion is if you love those wigs the girls are wearing, order an extra one! Curls ... gorgeous but a pain!
