You are too kind, thank you! Aww, but I wish I had room for more than just the 2 SD17s I have... I would like an army of them like Izam's or pris84's, enough to crowd a panoramic photo. Two of them look great, but a whole gaggle of SD17 is just Leg Heaven.

I do owe the world some more pictures of Kimo soon, now that you mention it... Stay tuned, I hope to have more spam soon. But I can always post a little something old....

@JennyNemesis, that picture of Kimo is getting me through this interminable weekend wait for FedEx to redeliver my Tall Dark & Handsome! I got home on Friday too late to catch the truck (!@#*#$&!@^! WORK) . . . .but he'll be here Monday, yes, he WILL.

Poor Tom says a shy "thank you" for the nice compliments, and yes, KitKats are a favorite around here. We had no trick-or-treaters at all, so there are now way, way too many KitKats on hand, but there are worse problems to have, I guess.

hope this is the right place to share a pic of my new girl? Never looked at Volks before, as I already have a cute girl (b&g sandra in my avatar) but I saw this old girl on ebay last week and it was love at first sight I am assuming she's legit, just old - I tried to research it as much as i could whilst panicking incase someone else bought her! There's pics of her headcap on my flickr if anyone knows about these things - I'm a total noob to all things Volkan ^_^ So here is my girl, Felicity - her lips have been modded so the sales blurb said, and she has a lovely old faceup by someone talented but no idea who - she's on the SD-10 body which is really so cute I love it - she's like a giant YOSD ^_^

Today it has been 3 years since Nadeko arrived!
I wanted to take her out for pictures but life got in the way and it wasn't possible, she did get a present though (a month early), this adorable @Kastalia dress set!

Sadly, both events will be going on at the same time! So I'll have to enter both ways and if I wind up with an extra dress, I'll be a very lucky woman. But I realized that doll in particular is just perfect for a character I really want, and I'm down one 1/3 girl... It's kind of like what happened with my Isao - I never looked at the sculpt much until I saw my boy up on eBay, and I couldn't NOT have him. Granted this time it's not as easy as winning an auction (though winning an auction for HER would probably be impossible anyway lol), but I'm still holding out some hope. But I never liked Isaos much until I fell for the one that would be mine, so maybe even if I don't win Luna, I'll be able to get a similar one someday.

 

It's strange how one of these dolls can suddenly spark that "I can't not have you" feeling, hopefully you can get your dream Luna.

It really was strange!! I didn't recognize her at all as her sculpt, just as the character I wanted her to be. I never thought that would happen again after Gatsby (it has been 10 years after all!), but I guess lightning can strike twice after all. :P I've had her page open since the dolls were revealed, and I saved her images in case I don't win her and need to get a similar faceup someday. >_<;;

I wish you lots of luck in all the lotteries you enter, too! My luck is pretty much nonexistent, but it's a 0% chance if you don't try, right? XD

Thanks so much~ It's that way with all the lotteries, even the clothing ones. But I admit I prefer it to click-warring! With that method, I truly don't stand a chance; I've tried and every time I walk away with nothing! But that's the way it used to be way back when, so I'm glad things have changed some.

And does anybody remember option parts being offered in Shadow skin alongside the SD17 Shiro release? This guy unexpectedly came with a pair of fist hands that are definitely Shadow (not Ebony or sunlight - I compared them to my other Volks tans). The hands have the round Volks shop "paid" sticker on the box, too.

 

OMG, congrats!! I don't remember anything for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me. It does say here that there's an order form for additional parts included with the original doll though, so that could have been them! Maybe someone with better Japanese than me can do some digging?

Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I have a Volks SD Yori head in normal resin, but she needs a body. Where (other than the MP here) can I find a Volks body for her? Also, are there any other companies whose bodies will fit the Volks SD heads? Thanks in advance!

That happens to me too! I usually fall in love with individual dolls, not particular sculpts. When people ask me what my favorite sculpt is, I never know what to say. I have two Volks Links, and one of them is my favorite BJD of all time, but I wouldn't say Link is my favorite sculpt.

Yes, there was an option-hands offer with Shadow Shiro. I bought 2 pairs of those option hands, just to take the gamble on a resin color I'd never be able to find option parts for again. But I was disappointed in the way they fit an SD17, so I sold one of them. Thank you for reminding me to get off my butt and sell the other. ^^ (They're 'supposedly' for SD13 and SDGr and SD17 and SDGou, but I have found that to be bollocks. They're a different size than SD17 default hands, so you can't mix and match, and the wristball doesn't give good mobility.)

Guys, does SD17 clothes fit SDGou body? As I'm preparing myself for my first Volks boy, looking around for clothes showed quite limited choices for SDGou. Or is it me, being bad searcher?
I hope to get everything together in 3-4 weeks.

I think, Shadow is darker than Sunlight, but lighter than ebony

 

Thank you so much for the lovely compliments on Mr. Nameless-So-Far, everybody! I'm still pinching myself -- he's hanging out with my SDGr Okita from the LA Dolpa, and they look great together.

Nope, no blushing -- just the combination of nasty flash and weird angle, I think!

And you've confirmed what I thought just from eyeballing these fist hands, which was "WTF, Volks?" The smooth SD13B sculpting style really seems like a mismatch for the SD17 body, and the hands are obviously smaller than the regular SD17 hands. I'll probably try them on him just for giggles, but I can't see much use for them, really.

Yep, it's exactly in-between to my eye, and am I right that SD17 Shiro is the only doll Volks has released in the Shadow color?

Volks doesn't sell bodies separately, but usually you can find a good bargain for Volks bodies here at the MP. It's the first place I look when I need one. I think Yori is a largish head, so she should fit on the necks of most other companies' 58cm or so bodies.

Color match depends on the company. I wish I could suggest more, but none of my Volks girls is on a body other than Volks. Maybe Angell Studio, butter yellow color?

@Ashley you should be able to find a few VOLKS bodies in the MP at any given time but I skimmed a few of the comparison threads and if you want her on a non-VOLKS body then SQ Labs, Crobidoll, Granado, and old Doll In Mind match. I've heard that Angell Studio, SoulDoll, Dollzone/Doll Chateau (Normal Yellow) matched at one point but I'm not sure if they've changed their formulas so they may or may not match depending on the amount of yellowing the body and head have. Migidoll appears to be a good match but I'm not entirely sure.

@Vanilla.Sky I think that baggy SD17 clothes might fit on the SDGou but the SDGou is overall bigger so I wouldn't count on things generally fitting (well).

Upon closer inspection, she looks like a WS Belle :-)
In 2013, there was a Disney x Volks collab for a Jack Skellington release. The lottery ended at 2100000yen, about 21,000USD!

She's a one off special lottery doll for the Japanese D23 Expo, so I imagine her price tag is going to be astronomical. I know the Jack Skellington Reisner they did previusly sold for over $20,000. I highly doubt we'll see her show up on y!j, whoever wins her will have to be very determined.

 

Not fair Volks! I have been wanting them to do a collab for standard release for everyone since they auctioned off Jack...I would love to see a "Snow White" with the same amount of detail released from them, or many other characters.
