[Adopted] Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XV

Jan 10, 2015

1. fransyung My apologies for not responding to you earlier regarding the AFA in Singapore. I am not active in this forum any more because I'm at the tail end of my doll collecting hobby. I'm getting old, my niece got married, so you can guess my age. I am so envious that you got to attend AFA. The DDs were better than wonderful. I would have snapped one off the shelf if I had been there. Mini DD Maria Ushiromiya was a very pleasant surprise to one of my friends in Singapore. I was also shocked to see her suddenly being offered. I gleefully asked my friend if Kuze Kiriha is also available! You and I could have met. That was really a bad choice to cancel the trip. Not sure if Volks will be there again this year. In any case, I can't attend because I've scheduled a Cherry Blossom trip to Japan in late March, I'd most likely miss the Kyoto dolpa but I am at the tail end of my doll collecting hobby, so the Cherry Blossoms are more important. Some day, when I visit Singapore and if you are there, can can meet for coffee? Please? :)

2. thesaragina, I always love seeing Sugar! She is stunning and despite her name, not too sweet.

JennyNemesis, thanks for posting your handsome Seiya and Sora!! Hope you all had a wonderful new year.

Neon Addiction, I love how you've dressed your Yugiri boy. Congrats on getting him home!

And Ashbet, your Ghazell is absolutely beautiful. What a lovely girl.

Linda S.
galatia9

3. Thank you!! And your Mandarake boy is gorgeous, Sherlock set or no! ^__^

Thanks so much, hon!! And Sugar is just breathtaking -- you know how much I love peacock themes (says the lady with peacock-feather tattoos), and the look suits her very well . . . the photo and props are amazing, too!

Thank you!! I'm just delighted with her -- I was trying different wigs on, and this one just popped out with a complete personality for her.

I love her unique features -- as far as I can tell, the only mods were to her eyes, but when combined with a non-default face-up, she looks very different from default SwD Tae. I still want to get one of those sweetly-smiling beauties someday . . . but I'm really fortunate to have found Ghazell's head, to have seen her potential, and to have chosen the perfect customizer to bring her to life :)

Congratulations to all the new and incoming arrivals!! :D

-- A :aheartbea

4. Animagic4u: I can't believe how good she looks in these different wigs!

thesaraghina: I love how vibrant your dolls are!

As usual, everyone here has the most wonderful dolls. <3

I'm basking in the wonder of having 3 fully-put-together Volks girls. Illyana and Alice (F-35 & Saki) photograph really well together.

5. I've been on a knitting frenzy lately. This has been lingering as a mostly finished project for a while, and I finally was motivated to finish it!

Poor Twi, it's the first thing I've made that's actually hers. I have plans for a proper outfit, but real life keeps interfering. ^^;

As always, apologies for my ancient camera, and also apologies for unmanageable static in my apartment. =n= Every loose fiber is sticking to everything!

6. So many stunning, interesting, wonderful Volks resins!

Ren just wants to say hello to his extended family. (SD17 Sakamoto Ryoma)

• x 1
7. *_* Ooh, Ryoma is such a knockout!

Laika and Kaiya are suddenly very very interested. ^^

8. rianne, those lingerie sets are adorable! Where'd you find them? :love

I also love the look of the F-35 on a more mature body- she's got such a pensive face. I was thinking of upgrading my own F-35 to a Graffiti body, but do you think the proportions would be okay?

9. Osaka, that's a beautiful sweater -- perfect proportions of the cabling, and a nice feminine shape; Twi is very lucky to have it finished at last, in time for chilly weather :)

petiteballerine, great close-up of Ren -- the serious side of the Ryoma default face-up; one of my favorite Volks face-ups :aheartbea

10. My F-09 girl that I have kept looking so angry and I couldn't figure out why, I swapped out her wig and re-positioned her eyes, and now I'm over the moon with her again. <3

11. I have a new arrival...just this afternoon...and I have no time to do anything other than debox and take a pic of her...(essay due in tomorrow...*sigh*)

She's a Chris girl with a faceup by Val Zeitler...I haven't named her yet, but the shortlist is Estella (Essie), Florence, Dorcas or Henrietta (Hattie)

But....ohhhhhh...she is lovely...much lovelier than my horrible camera lets on...

Alicex

12. beamlette--Thank you! I upsized a Barbie pattern for it. It was my first go-round with baby cables too--no need for a separate needle, but it gives a great finished look. :3

Alice80--She's gorgeous, but I do have a weakness for the Chris and Lucas-types as girls! And that dress is stunning! I vote for Essie! (and feel your pain in the camera department!)

13. Osaka, that cardigan looks amazingly good! I'll have to commission something like that from my mom ;)

petiteballerine, love the moody shot of Ren!

JennyNemesis, it really does look like something suddenly piqued their interests!
Lovely boys as always :aheartbea

AlmySidaKay, your girl is so cute, it's always a good feeling to "reconnect" with a doll :)

--------
Misou's body arrived today, and it's super cute! It's a bit less yellowed than her head though, so now I'm itching to see how it looks when that old faceup is wiped

I also got my hands on an old gradient wig from Volks and tried it on Tetsuya - I think he's got a new default! :aheartbea
[IMG]Tetsuya by Motiko, on Flickr

14. JennyNemesis: hypnotic eyes! Ren is interested right back! :love

thanks, Beamlette. many Ryoma owners changed his faceup, but that crooked smile is genius! I'll never touch it.

AlmySidaKay: amazing how a few tweaks can change everything. love her hat.

Alice80: Chris is always beautiful, boy or girl. the dress is divine.

Motiko: the wig is perfect & so is your charming boy. :aheartbea

15. Motiko, that wig looks awesome on your boy!! I always loved the VOLKS gradient wigs. :')

Popping in here because it seems I am recently on a VOLKS kick and I need to see everyone's beautiful dolls!
I've had a Sunlight Kun and SWD Lucas for some years now (both were my grail dolls), but I recently acquired a SchA head.
Now I know why that mold is so popular - he's beautiful even blank! I'm hoping to get a SDGr body for him as soon as I have all the funds. :D

A little late, but I'll share this picture of my Kun and SWD Lucas from New Year's. :)

16. Ooo, a new thread! I'll get Gatsby to help open it, if nobody minds!

SD13 boy hands are my favorite. @w@

17. Lolita, thanks for sharing your gorgeous Gatsby.

Congratulations, Alice, I know you've been waiting for your new girl for a while!! (I really like her wig!)

Oh Motiko, isn't that wig perfect on Tetsuya!! He is such a lovely Sakaki.

JennyNemesis, I LOVE seeing your handsome Tony and Sch A!! Two of my very favorite Volks sculpts (which I own, also).

That cardi is beautiful on your girl Twi, Osaka! Is she a Sch D?

And Britt, what a cute new year's picture! Congratulations on your new arrival too. I adore my Sch A, Gavreau, he is so photogenic. I'll have to share a new pic of him here soon.

For now, though, I'll share a new pic of my first and favorite BJD, Hiro (SD13 Link). He will be ten years old this year! He was made in May 2005 and he arrived to me brand new in June.

18. Tetsuya! Gastby! CANNOT COPE! *swoons* :aheartbea:
And Liiiiink in a Cowboy Bebop t-shirt! He is everything I love about the olden days. <3

19. rianne nice photo! want a Saki badly... TUT

20. Motiko--Isn't that what moms are for? ;) To knit their families lovely things? (Even the little resin family members can benefit!)

galatia9--Hiro~! I always feel like poor Link never got as much of the love he deserved, he's so much better in person and in owner pics! And thank you, and yes, she's a School D. ^-^ (And my goodness, has it really been 10 years?! I need to make Yukimura something nice!)

21. Lolita, I agree with you; I love SD13 boy hands, too! Is Gatsby getting better acquainted with Sherlock?

galatia9, oh Hiro, my hero! He's why I have my "Link-age" collection --
[IMG]
One for each day of the week!

22. galatia9 - Thank you!! I am really excited to put him together. I would love to see a photo of your SchA sometime! :)

On that note, if anyone does have a SchA (I'd especially love to see some boys on the SDGr body), please feel free to share photos! I am anxious to get my boy a body and need some beautiful distractions in the meantime. haha

Oh my gosh, beamlette - what an awesome collection of Links! I'm in love. You are lucky to have so many! :aheartbea

23. Fabulous pictures here today...I'm popping in more and more regularly for a Volks fix...and I'm loving it...

Lovley to see Hiro, galatia9! He's looking well on his nearly 10 years...

Beamlette - that's Links as far as the eye can see! What super collection...and all so individual!

And Britt, here's my Michael - a School A with a wonderful Ravendolls faceup - on an old Custom House body
[IMG]

Alicex

24. Laika and Kaiya are back to stare at you conspiratorially some more.... I just always get the feeling I shouldn't leave them unsupervised for too long. Always keep one eye closely on the power-mad (especially when there are easily-influenced roommates about ^^).

http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...Laika-amp-Kaiya-Volks-SD13-Tony-amp-School-A) <= a few more in gallery

Alice80, I love your Michael! What a sweet little cutie! He is like the absolute opposite SchoolHead A from Kaiya. That sculpt is so versatile....

25. Alice80, oh my goodness, Michael is so adorable! I really want to give him a hug. :aheartbea

Bambi Darling your girl is so cute! What sculpt is she? The reddish wig suits her very well. :)

Ohh JennyNemesis, you know my weakness. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous boys again! It is true how amazingly versatile the ScA sculpt is. I wonder which side my boy will end up turning to... haha

Hope more of you can share your SchA boys~ or girls! I know it is also quite a popular female mold. ;)

26. Thank you all for the kind words, I was glad to bring out Tetsuya again - and having him look so good! :aheartbea I was a little lost on what to do with him, but I think I got through it :)

Britt, your Kun and Lucas are so adorable! I see what you mean with the SchA, I have a DWC01 that I haven't figured out what to do with, but it's really pretty even when blank!

galatia9, I know, it's strange to realize your dolls are "old", it just so happens I was twice the age of my three oldest dolls last year. That was funny!

Osaka, that may be so, my mom actually mentioned she had seen doll patterns at Ravelry, so she seems a bit warmed up to the idea already ;)

beamlette, those are a LOT of Links! I'm always impressed with people able to keep multiple dolls of the same sculpt - of course I've been tempted to do the same but I think my maximum would be two. Still freaking awesome to have seven though!

JennyNemesis, Laika and Kaiya really make an eye catching duet! :)

27. Thank you :D She is a Kurumi :aheartbea

28. I hope that they open up the fcs again so I can get my f-38

29. beamlette, thanks for showing your days of the week Links!! Smart-aleck Hiro is preening because he knows he was the original and best! ROFL!!

Linda S.
galatia9

30. Oh my goodness how did I miss that photo up there? Seven Links a Week! How absolutely marvelous!! beamlette I am so jealous... I don't have the space for sub-collections of all the sculpts I'd love to have 7 of. It must be a wonderful thing to get to look at every day. <3

31. chobi: They're wearing lingerie by TreeDesign. ^^ Honestly, I think the SDGr is the pest-proportioned for F-35. There's a gorgeous SDGr F-35 on flickr, and it's like the head was made for that body.

Rui: Thank you!

Britt: What a gorgeous photo! Love your tan Kun. :love

Motiko: I'm always amazed when masculine dolls pull off long wigs like that; he looks amazing!

galatia9: Ahhhhhh, that T-shirt is great! :XD:

Here's a shot that really shows how tall/mature Illyana seems on this body. ^^

[IMG]illyana by 木漏れ日, on Flickr

32. galatia9 - I'm always more than happy to share Gatsby! But he's happiest of all, I think. This boy loves the attention. :) And happy birthday to your Hiro! He's looking good for 10! ;)

JennyNemesis - Haha, consider it payback! Your boys cause more swooning in this thread, I swear... :P

beamlette - I need to get more option hands for my boys, for sure! I love all your Links, you're so lucky to have such a great collection. And those hands!!

Gatsby and Sherlock are getting on okay, I'm still trying to get used to how different their head sizes are. Sherlock makes Gatsby look so little! Neither of us are used to it.

Also, my Yu Morisawa arrived today! I can't get over that little smiling face. Here's my girl Spock, I hope you guys like her because she'll be getting spammed a LOT. n__n;

Here's her box opening thread, if anyone's interested!

33. rianne, I admire your stylish photos so much! They are very flattering to your girls. And thanks for your kind comment about Hiro's Cowboy Bebop shirt. It's his favorite shirt, and he's one of my few BJDs who likes to sit down and watch anime with me.

Oh, doesn't Yu look like a mischief maker! I love her with the long braids, Lolita!

Your Laria is a real darling, Bambi Darling!

beamlette, Beckham is looking very good, BTW! I forget, who is your dark haired Link with the glasses?

Linda S.
galatia9

34. Oh my goodness, Lolita, she's adorable!!!

35. Thanks, everyone, for your nice comments on my Link lads! :abow:

galatia9, that's Rune, though that's not his usual look; he's been cosplaying Watanuke from "xxxHolic"... and since he's been wearing that for a year, he's wishing I would I change his outfit! :sweat

rianne, Illyana's got gams! Love the chunky red heels she's wearing. :)

I was just checking out the latest Volks USA Dollfie newsletter e-mail, and saw these outfits that'll be up FS on Saturday -- http://volksusastore.com/dollfie/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=574 SD17 Shiro is lookin' good in his spa yukata! :wiggle

36. Sharing a photo. My 1st Williams one-off was repainted last year.

(photo removed)

He is completely different from before.

37. galatia9 - She kind of does look like mischief... I always get dolls thinking they'll be such innocent little angels, then they get here and turn out to be a handful! But it keeps things exciting, if nothing else. :) I bought this wig just for her, nobody else even got to try it on before she got here. She didn't have a default wig, so this is what she'll get until I find her one. I do like her in this one too, she might just have to share it someday.

Osaka - Thank you! She's even cuter in person; I'll have to work on taking more pics of her. I don't want to put her down for even a second!

Izam - Awesome pics! I love your boy's outfit and faceup~

38. Thank you, Motiko! Gosh, I love the DWC01 sculpt. Can't wait to see what you do with it when you decide. :)

Bambi Darling, oh wow! She looks really mature~ Caught me off guard! She is so lovely. :aheartbea

riannce, thank you my dear! Your Illyana is stunning!! I love the SDGr girl body so much with the heel legs.
I think it is the best body proportionally too! Maybe I'll end up with an SDGr girl one day too. :)

Congrats on your new girl, Lolita!! She is so cute in this wig. Yes please feel free to spam away... haha XD

Izam, your Williams is so handsome! His new faceup looks great. Williams is one of my favorite sculpts. :aheartbea

39. This is one of my favorite threads on DoA. So much eye-candy!

beamlette -- Sunday through Saturday in Link-age! Squee!! :fangirl: Link photos from you and galatia9 remind me that I really do need to own a Link again! <3

Alice80 Michael is so sweet and cuddly looking!

JennyNemesis Always a pleasure to see photos from you. Kaiya looks extra lovely in that black wig.

Izam your Williams is badass! I like his eye-catching light eyelashes.

Hi Britt! Congrats acquiring a School Head A. I will echo their versatility and adorability. My dude Jean-Baptiste has a SDGr body:

(LOL -- he looks super annoyed like I've just woken him up from a nap.)

His head is older than his body, so the match isn't picture-perfect, but that doesn't bother me.

• x 1
40. Aww, thanks galatia9!

beamlette, she totally does! I love the song SD16 legs.

Izam: your dolls are always so stunning; he looks amazing this way!

Britt: thanks! She's actually on an SD16 since I wanted the broad shoulders and crazy height.

Some Kino spam since she's feeling overlooked. :P
[IMG]kino by 木漏れ日, on Flickr

41. rianne The freckles! I love them. I adore freckles on dolls. I can't figure out how to paint them well myself so I just gush over everyone else's face-ups.

Izam I love the white lashes on your boy. I'm desperately looking for white lashes. They aren't easy to find. I mean....really white ones! His outfit is insanely beautiful too.

42. Oh my gosh, nikittin, he is so handsome!! Do you by chance have any full body shots of him on the SDGr body? My boy is also supposed to have black hair - it suits your boy well! :)

Ohh keep the SchA spam coming everyone... haha Loving everyone's handsome boys! :aheartbea

rianne, oh gosh, I'm dumb! Sorry about that! haha She looks lovely on the SD16 body! Your Kino is beautiful, too. I admire all of your dolls very much!

43. She's not a boy, but Allister does have a fairly neutral face-up.

I need to get her back on a body. I miss having my crabby bobbleheaded girl!

44. Yep, here's an old one:

He's wearing Minoru Kamimura's default, but his School Head A noggin was far too big for the hat.

Osaka I have such a fondness for Sch A girls. Yours looks sassy!

45. nikittin--She is sassy! XD I really need to settle on what body I want her on now, or if I just want to aggravate her by putting her on another SD10 body.

46. Osaka, she is so cute, however grumpy she may look! haha XD There are a lot of amazing SchA girls out there, that's for sure.
The School heads are all so versatile! have you thought about a SDGr girl body for her? Might be a good fit! :)

Thank you for the photo, nikittin! That outfit looks great on him! Gotta love those giant VOLKS heads. haha

47. Britt, this is my School A girl, Georgie (Michael's sister) - she is on an SD13 body, so the size should give you some idea of how the head will work on the SDGr...

48. I just entered the international after event lottery for Lieselotte. First time for a couple of things - I've never entered the international lottery events or gone for a Volks girl before. If it works out I'd be delighted, but I'm also not going to get my hopes up TOO high. She's incredibly popular!

I'm still too busy with being both a newlywed and a recent immigrant to a new country to be very active on DoA these days, but it's always nice to see everyone's cute photos. :3

49. Alice90, she is gorgeous! That wig really fits her well. :) Thank you for sharing! I'm getting really excited to put my School A boy together!

solitary agent, good luck!! I REALLY wanted to enter the lottery for SDGr Kei, but I know there's no way I'd have the funds by the end of the month for him. Hope whoever does get him will post lots of pictures, though!

50. All these beautiful School A boys and girls, on all these wonderful different bodies! :fangirl: What a great showcase.

Kaiya probably won't fit into Minoru Kamimura's skinny navy-cadet outfit, but he sure does look good in ANY uniform. <3

51. Well I'm really over the moon today. Finally broke down and purchased a Volks Tohya and here he is.

So I'm planning to make him a girl but I couldn't resist trying him on my SDgr boy body. This body is a PERFECT fit. Tohya can really pull off the skinny look. It's killing me because he's destined to be a girl but he's just amazing on this boy body!

Lately, I'm having this strange relationship with Volks. I've been wanting the older dolls. I put off buying a Tohya for years because I figured something would come along from Volks that would grab me. Nothing really came along for me that was as weird and wonderful as this doll's bored pouty face, so I just got him. My boyfriend thinks he's the coolest doll I own and has strangely taken to him. It's that look. That sick-of-it all look. I love it.

• x 2
52. It's so nice to see all these lovelies. <3

Any idea when Volks USA will restock any of their current Standard Models? <.< Resistance is wearing thin on whether or not to enter for Charlotte... or to wait... Decisions.

53. Isenn - Oh my gosh, your Tohya is just beyond words. He'll make a wonderful girl, but as a boy he's just fantastic! Congrats on bringing him/her home!

54. Wonder how many Charlotte's and Lieselotte's they have for the lottery? Anyone know?

55. Isenn, I've never really considered Tohya before, but WOW. That expression is actually pretty perfect for a character I've had some difficulty shelling. I meant to make him an MSD, but... I could put him with my SD versions of the same characters I have MSD versions of, and he'd be PERFECT because he's so sick of them most of the time. ;) Whatever you decide to do with him, he's gorgeous!

No idea on how many dolls are actually allotted for the international lotteries, myself. I'm not sure they ever tell anyone outside the company, but I could be wrong?

56. JennyNemesis - Oh, your Kaiya does look good in uniform! I am a sucker for uniformed dolls. ;) Half of my doll crew are actually pilots... it's a problem. X)

Isenn your Tohya is beyond gorgeous! Wow.... I've always liked the sculpt, but I think your boy might convince me I need one now. haha ;)
I am sure Tohya will make a very lovely girl for you as well! At least you know now how versatile the head can be!

DemonMiko, I am not sure either... But I am wondering who will be next for them to release - or re-release.

Thanks to everyone who has been showing off their beautiful SchA's! I just purchased my SDGr body on layaway (have to thank Cynthia in FlintHills)!
Hoping he will be all together before my birthday next month... I am beyond excited. :'3

57. Lolita Thank you! He's going to make such a great dissatisfied-with-the-world girl. I'm excited.
Solitary Agent You know I didn't consider him at first either. It took some owner photos to convince me. But on and off for years now I've had this urge to get Tohya. I'm so happy I finally did it. I never even saw one in person and he's just crazy cool looking from every angle. There is one on the market place now actually.
Britt Thank you. Yes you need one too hahaha. He's really special. I can't call him pretty you know? Tohya is too annoyed with everything to be pretty.

58. Isenn, your Tohya's faceup is stunning. I LOVE him on the SDGr body. The slouch works so perfectly for him. It will be tough to wrench him off there!

nikittin, Jean-Baptiste is gorgeous. What an incredible faceup he has.

JennyNemesis, I LOVE Volks boys in uniform! Kaiya looks so supercilious there.

And speaking of supercilious...

I'll add Gavreau (my Sch A) in his uniform, 4D's Rudbeckia. I like to put his hat on this way because that's how Nelson wore his.
