1. Ducky has such a sweet little face. She's a wonderful little girl to have as the first post on this new thread.

2. Yayy, hello Ducky! Think I've seen you on facebook...:D

And to celebrate the new thread...(and to make sure I get updates...:fangirl:) here's my Yu, chillin' and looking up stuff on her iPad...

3. Ducky is soooooo sweet, and Yu is totally adorable with her wild red hair. (I LOVE Yu's Sashapotamus T-shirt.) :love

4. Wow! Ducky and Yu are gorgeous girls. Love their photos. :)
I'm posting my girls here for the first time.

5. My girls are happy for a new thread, I'm still trying to figure out how to pull money out of thin air so I can enter the lotto at least once. But in the mean time here are Himiko, Reika and Kasumi, my Syo, Yori, and Kurumi girls! <3

6. Everyone's spam is so cute! I am really working hard on not trying for any of the lottery dolls so I can try to get my hands on something from the anniversary event >,<; (Hewitt is hitting me hardest, but luckily he isn't WS or I would have lost the battle…)

7. So many Yu's xD love it~

8. Joining the new thread, here is my Sapphire. I entered for one of the beautiful One-Offs, I really like so many of them but one has my heart. Best of luck to everyone who enters! :daisy

9. Oh, this page is killing me with all the cute girls! I have to add Kimmie, my Kazuya Kujo SD girl. She's my only SD...

I adore my Volks SD13 boys and girls... but I am starting to want another SD!

Linda S.

10. so many pretty dolls.

11. Continuing the SD theme -- this is Cal, my F-25 SD boy. I had always thought I wanted an F-25 girl, but I saw this wicked little smirk on Y!J last fall, and I was a goner. :sweat

12. Jeeez, is he cute! :chibi I don't think I've seen an F25 boy before. What a face. I can see why you were helpless against him. ^^

And he does look mischievous-- he looks like one of Rainey's friends. :3 Only with much tidier clothing.

13. So... I've always kinda wanted a Volks doll just to have at least ONE, y'know? Like if I ever went to Tenshi-no-Sato (which I hope to do someday!) I'd want to have a doll I could take in with me. And so I keep seeing dolls that I really like, but then realize I don't love QUITE enough to actually get, like Ryo Narasaki, or Shirou Tachibana, etc... I even know what sculpt I want to get at Tenshi-no-Sato, whenever I end up going, and that's an F-35 girl.

But now, I have finally, truly, fallen in love with a Volks sculpt! And of course, she's my new grail doll, because oh my god, I will never be able to afford her. I know it's off-topic for this thread, but I just wanna say that getting my other grail doll, Dollshe Bermann, probably won't cost as much! (Though, that is because I plan to hybrid him, but I don't want to hybrid a Volks doll!) So I should probably mention the sculpt now, huh?

*drumroll* Suigintou!

Anybody have any spam for me of this gorgeous girl? I would love to see more people's take on her, I love how versatile the examples I've seen of her are~
Thanks in advance!

14. I can't wait until the new Standards are released, I am hoping to get one of them instead. If they make new SD13 then I am doomed.

15. The more I look at them, the more I am liking the new standards.

I would redo one as a boy though...

16. Me, too! I got the first issue of the new Dolly Japan magazine, and it has pictures of them -- I'm looking forward to seeing more.

JennyNemesis, Rainey is too cute for words -- he and Cal could get into a heap of trouble together, no doubt about it. Cal says not to be fooled by the school clothes . . . he was forced into them.

17. I am so excited for the new standards! I particularly like Saki. <3

More spam of my Kino for the new thread. She's getting all the love while I wait on new clothes for the boys. XD
[IMG]kino by 木漏れ日, on Flickr

18. SwivelChair, somehow I didn't take portrait pictures of my Suigintou for quite a while, need to fix this ;) But still I can share an old one I guess...

19. Cynthia, I like your Cal! He makes a very cute boy.

And Ksusha, Suigintou is classic Volks all the way! If I keep looking at her picture, I will want to enter the lottery for the one off!

JennyNemesis, your Rainey has almost the exact same mouth as my Mimi13 (or it reminds me of hers, anyway)! I think of her every time I see a Sch B. His eyebrows crack me up, he looks like he is saying, "What? I didn't do anything."

Linda S.
galatia9

20. I just looked at my Mimi13, and you are so right--she could be Rainey's big sister!

21. :kitty2 Yes indeed she does! There seems to be a lot of that "Who, me? I didn't do nothin'" smirk in that branch of the Volks family. Rainey already has two big brothers, but if I collected girls he'd probably have a big sister too. (Once you start working a Volks family resemblance, it can be hard to stop.)

@Cynthia, Cal does look adorable in those school clothes, but yes, I can tell he wants a good grubby hoodie & a pair of cargo pants. XD

@Ksusha, that Suigintou is so bad-ass! She totally carries this regal chill with her.

22. Is anyone getting this on the Volks USA site: "Bandwidth limit exceeded" if you try to click on one of the dolls for the lottery?

23. Looks like Volks already failed to take into account the popularity of this new site...

24. I noticed that, too. Well, they do have beautiful dolls and clothes, not to mention that the models they have are outstanding.

25. Yes, I was getting Resources Exceeded errors the first time I tried to even load the homepage for the first time-- which wasn't a good omen. Does not inspire a lot of confidence for anything time-sensitive! Was hoping that they were maybe still working on the backend & that things would improve over time (I thought they said their server migration was going to continue until like June).

26. Wasn't the migration supposed to take care of the load issues?

27. If they're not finished yet, that'd explain the overloads... so I hope that they're just not finished yet. Otherwise, :P.

28. eleniel, a little late, but I was thinking the same about the new standards, weighing them against each other to see which one would best be a boy that suits me, they are all great over all sculpts to have as standards, and as people start slowly buying them and customizing them, I can see them gaining great popularity!

Looks like Volks maybe playing a little too safe as usual, they underestimate their popularity anywhere else besides Japan as a safe business practice I think, but the international community is ravenous if you offer us something truly special lol, and a reopening of a staple company like Volks should command more precedence in my opinion, I don't see one of those dolls going without many many votes.

29. Ok, still trying to find out more about my Mandarake purchase (at least he's got a name now - Aelfric) and I just took a closer look at the inside of his head. I noticed someone's written "Valico" into it with a pencil. So I googled "Valico" and "Volks" and found out Valico is/was one of Volks' designers. Now I'm wondering: Could it be she did my guy's face-up? Or how else might she have been involved with that doll?

30. If I remember right, usually the faceup artist writes his/her name inside the head for one-offs.

31. Yep, it's my understanding that the faceup artists 'sign' their one-offs.

I'm seriously debating between waiting for the new standard line or grabbing an Elena off the second-hand market. Do we have more than just that one promo image for the new line?

32. Valico is a face-up artist from Volks. But I do not think she signs all the one-offs because I had 2 one-offs by her but she did not sign it. Also not all Volks one-off artists signs the inside (K. Mayura doesn't sign I don't think because my one-off by him wasn't signed either). But I think some DO sign it and Valico did sign yours I guess.

33. I guess it also could have been the previous owner - whoever first bought the doll - because they might have wanted to "note down" who did the face-up?

Anyways, I hope I'll manage to get home early from work some time this week so the light's still good enough to take a few pics of that boy. :) So that I can finally find out how old he is. Frankly - the older the better. I've discovered recently that I actually like dolls with a history ... :)

34. CathyM your Ducky is lovely, as is your Yu's Alice80 and sunshinejade... all this Yu Morisawa making my pocket itch, I loved the anime and both the Yu and Creamy sculpts hittin me in the grail feels. Lady Kanna your Sapphire is lovely, to what artist is owed the praise of that faceup? It's stunning. Cynthia I've never seen a f-25 boy before yours, I didn't know the sculpt had the potential for a mischief look. Rianne, I'm also leaning towards picking up an Elena as I had always wanted one but figure she was a standard and put her priority low, I love the new standards too but reguardless I'd perfer the SDGr body over an SD/SD13 now and that complicates the process.

For those who have both SDGr and SD16 girls can perchance answer a question for me, Is the neck of the SD 16 body bigger than the SDGr? And if so by how much? I have a rather old artist sculpt a Seimei by Aeon of Dive and while Im a fan of the SDGr body the neck is too small. I have too many projects on my plate for modding and airbrushing neck mods and I'd like to make clothes for the SD16 body so it would be a win/win if it could work.

also a bit of spam~ my Mark on a SDGr body. I'm always falling in fits of blatant favortism but shes really been my favorite doll for about 2 years now... really need to give her a fitting name and some sort of back story tho.

35. AENEAS, no wonder your Mark SDGr girl is a favorite! Wow.

Linda S.

36. I must step into this conversation to say that I absolutely adore your Mark girl.

37. Hello lovely Mark girl, I recognize her from Tumblr~

My FCS F36 head is on an SD16 girl body. It's a larger head sculpt, with an SD13 boy size neck hole and though the fit isn't perfect it's a better fit than an SDGr body would be. It's got a gap of maybe 3mm all the way around if your look at the connection. She looks good though, in my opinion.

Seimei's head may be a little larger than her though. If you want I can ask a friend who has a Seimei head what she thinks.

38. I have two one off Rias by Valico, also unsigned. But so beautiful <3

39. Lady Kanna - Your girl and photo is stunning, I can only hope that one day I can photograph with a 1/3 of your talent. The corset is so authentically replicated in that scale <3

Eleniel - Ive been refreshing flickr for IRL pictures of the new standards. I really like Chiyo, but I can't help but wish that they were released on the newer SDGR bodies. The change from Oldskin to Pureskin resin and bodies seemed much quicker than the change from the old bodies to the double jointed bodies. Im thinking they may keep it as a limited only. Im beginning to give up the idea of the bodies ever being introduced to FCS

Rianne - Kino is so cute and I love how your photography makes her look like she's swirling around, all demure like. I have a soft spot for that mold and I have to force myself to not buy every one on the MP - They have taken over my room !

Ksusha - Im not going to lie. I am so jealous of you for having Suigintou ! She looks so pretty :)

Aeneas - Mark surprisingly looks really good as a girl !

Idrisfynn - I will never judge a headmold based on a few pictures again. Your f36 looks so delicate and beautiful, especially with that feminine face up and dark colours. I was never a fan of the "proportionate" headmolds, but she does look beautiful and really works it ! I personally find the SD16 a really good choice for male BJD heads. I dont own either of them anymore, but my F28 (old, not new) had a huge noggin - it looked ridiculous on an SD13 body, it made it look like a Bratz doll. When I placed the head on an SD16 it looked so natural in comparison.

40. My Lucas One-off by Saifa is signed inside.

Here he is just as he got a body upgrade from SD13 to SDGr. I finally persuaded him to come out of his Squirrel Moon sweater for the summer, but thought he could do with a change since he's had it on for about a year and a half! He does look gorgeous in it though...

41. I've been away for a bit and came back to find a new thread and so many fabulous photos. I wish my skills were half as good as all of yours. Those beautiful dolls just pop from the screen like magic candy. Take it as read that I wish I owned every single one of them and am, at the same time, glad that they have such great homes with you all.

I entered the lottery last night, because you are so inspirational here. I hope they get the results out early, as they did with the Orphan Lottery. I didn't get to sleep till nearly 4am >.<

Inside the head, Alice? I need to go back inside my Rias and look, but I changed the eyes to another shade of Zouks so I probably would have noticed, at least inside of Gilbert if not Maude.

42. galatia9,HardCandy13, AmoraSeth Thank you c:
idrisfynn thanks for asking for me, some gaping is fine with me just as long as the overall look isn't extremely awkward.

43. idrisfynn: She is stunning! I've never seen the sculpt as a girl before. <3

HardCandy13: Thank you so much! The F01 is really the most photogenic sculpt. :3

44. I agree, idrisfynn's F36 looks amazing. Ethereal, delicate and very mature.

I have a very hard time reconciling Kujo's huge head on the SD girl body, but... I am determined to make her work! I just don't want her to be older than 13 or so. And I want her to be shorter than my two SD13 girls.

45. I have a qustion about Volks' "tan" dolls. I was looking through the thread about Tan/ Sunlight dolls. (To be sure there are some gorgeous dolls in that thread!! :aheartbea )

I noticed that there are Ebony and Sunlight Volks dolls and comparison photos. I was wondering about the Shadow resin color. Are there any photos of that resin with the Sunlight and/or the Ebony? Thank you to anyone who wants to share photos. =)

Added: the link to these wonderful dolls/ photos.. http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?93096-Tan-Sunlight-Resin#top

46. Ebony is the darkest color Volks offers, its a beautiful shade and I hope they consider adding to the FCS someday ! Shadow is the lighter, with sunlight as the lightest "tan" skin tone. Ive seen sunlight in person and it doesn't look that dark to be honest, it looks like a natural sun kissed skin.

Heres a picture with the Ebony and Shadow comparison from Turbow :)

https://www.flickr.com/photos/turbow/7338228244/

47. Thank you HardCandy13.
Ebony and Shadow are very close in color, and both are beautiful. I'd vote for all the different resins to be in FCS one day.

48. Soooo i caved and put my name in for the One-off lottery.. i really shouldn't be trying to purchase but i just couldn't help myself. I put my name in for SDMidi g Chloe :)

49. Shirayuki, I think putting in for the lottery for Chloe counts as a small indiscretion. ;) Good luck!

Here's one of my favorite resin comparison pics, showing Volks Oldskin normal and Volks sunlight... I mean, my Gavreau (School A) and beamlette's Shulamith (F-16 SD13G). I am not sure what their relationship is... IMO, they're both kinda twisted.

50. That's exactly what I did recently in the HTD Kyoto 10 lottery. Volks has a way of making you cave. Good luck with Chloe. I had my eye on her too, and Tony is way too tempting, so I'm not looking at him anymore. :sweat

Great picture showing the difference in skin color. That's very helpful. :)

51. My heart melts for Lucas!! :aheartbea
I love all the Lucas and lucas like heads that volks makes/ made. gulatia9, that is one great photo of your School A and your F-16. Twisted or not they are cute and loved by me!!

Thank you for the comparison of the oldskin and the sunlight resin. The oldskin resin mellows so beautifully imho, and the sunlight is such a nice warm tone. Thank you again. All my Volks are either the oldskin or the newer natural resin.

52. Oriscany - Funny you should mention the oldskin mellowing ! I personally find that oldskin normal mellows more beautifully than pure skin normal (or at least the first batch of Pureskin released). My oldskin F-01 looks fresh with a slight tinge of yellow if you are picky, whilst my pure skin normal Cyndy I body's yellowing is more obvious, though subtle.

I need to know the secret of removing hot glue from the heads. It came off much easier on the smaller heads like Belle and Lieselotte, but I'm having such a hard time removing it from Winter Smile Nono. Ive almost given up ! Ive used a hairdryer to make it softer but it comes off in parts. I then tried the freezing method - I left it in much more than would have ideally did, because I was distracted and it seems so hard to pry off. Ive used the nail metal thing someone suggested to pry it off but its just so difficult ! Im about to just give up and sell the head lol ! I really really wish Volks would use putty instead :'( I want to pry the glue off RG Okita but I'm just so discouraged ! Not looking forward to having burnt, sore fingers for a few days XD

53. I'd like to know this too... like... back in the early 2000s, it seemed a blowdryer was the way to go, and never had problems. Nowadays, it's like... is this super strength hot glue? Because I can't get that crap off for anything! Many ouchy fingers for days for sure..

54. I used the method suggested on the Volks site (metal tool dipped in acetone free varnish remover and patiently work the glue free) on my Yu and it worked the best of anything I have ever tried...no sore fingies or lost eyelashes...

Alicex

55. I've had good luck with the freezer method and instead of actually trying to pry the glue off, just putting pressure on the eyes themselves from the front with something like a pencil. It should all just pop off.

56. Wow! She make a nice girl. Mine's a guy which is how I think most people think of this sculpt. Just goes to show you how versatile Volks can be.

57. That's the way I do it, too.
Depending on how much glue they used, you may end up losing the eyelashes in the process.. But compared to prying out that glue any other way? Replacing a set of eyelashes is a breeze.

58. I've recently moved to the thinner method. But the freezer method works well. Just don't be impatient. Let it freeze really well.
