Volks SD Owners Tokyo Cruise, July 19th

May 15, 2008

    1. Surely Reisner is SMOKING hot... and handsome..
I feel like I found a life time doll. :P
as estimated, the aftermarket price for Reisner SF will be double of the original price.
approximately, $1500US in the original price, but will be most likely, more than $3000US after event. I think it could easily go to up to $4000US.
if it were sell in the original price, I could have afford him......... sigh....!!

    2. SF Cecil and SF Resiner, I love them both....T T...

    3. Any news yet??

    4. It's only been 10 days since entries closed, I'd reckon we probably have another week or so to wait...

      :eusa_pray

    5. OMG I GOT ON!!!

      :D:dance:cheer:dance:cheer:dance:D

    6. OMG CONGRATS!! I so envy you!!!!

    7. Pithetaphish, congratulations :fangirl:

    8. Woot. Let the Kyougen of Happidance mix with the Noh of personal anguish.

      :D

      Good going!

      Yuko.

    9. Thank you so much guys! :D

I promise a virtual flood of photos!

    10. Congratulations! *throws confetti* I'm still waiting to hear the 'yay' or 'nay' on mine... :sweat

    11. PurgatoriX: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

    12. wow is it that difficult to get into events in Japan? I guess it would be since there are TONS of fans, while in US we're more of a small community.

    13. It's a member's only lottery event & their only taking maybe 200 people, so yah, this is a really tough event to get into! And thanks, pithetaphish! :)

    14. By now I think I`m on the "Rejected" side of this event ;_;

      Aw man, I don`t really like secondhand dolls ;_;

    15. I reckon I iz totally on the reject side. Yuko has managed to swing one, but little me is left on the dockside (you'd think I qualified as her friend, but apparently not).

      :(

      Darren.

    16. Well, you got the new dollie (was supposed to be mine, but you hijacked her - and hello to A-Rose, and thanks).

You will just have to lurk in one of the bars. We shall wave to you.

      Yuko.

    17. Now, now kids. Play nice. I'm glad anyone I know (even twice removed) has the opportunity! I've wondered what a Volks cruise was like since I've heard of their existence. It seems wonderful to have a party over the water. Please have extra fun on behalf Ashmore Sensei and I! :aheartbea

    18. @ Tempest-Strife...

Not a chance. That Fat Fool kidnapped Helane and has refused to let her go. I don't mind so much, but my cousin would appreciate the cruise more than the Idiot Boy. He can fawn over his Tudor Ghost whilst we tear our hair out over the Pirates.

      Yuko.

    19. Well, I got my letter... that says I didn't get in *cries* I better at least get to see some pictures! Godd luck to those of you still waiting!

    20. Yeah I got my fully confirmed REJECTION letter today from volks.

I wonder if this Volks Kanshasai the rejection letter rants about will have a BW reisner or something. And if that happens, I am TOTALLY hoping I will have a chance this time.

If not, well, you`ve got a handful of Korean BJD stores waiting to take my money.
Just like it`s doing right now because of my huge angst buildup.

Maybe us Rejected should do some gathering on that day and do a group sulking :B

    21. Weeeell... Tokyo I-Doll is, I believe, that Sunday... the same wknd as the cruise...:sneaky

    22. I'm so sorry, guys. :(

That I can do. We'll see how many pics I can squeeze onto a 1GB memory card.

    23. I'm in for the group sulking! Wasn't there a one off BW Reisner pic?

    24. Eh I believe it wasn`t a BW D:

As for a group sulking, should there be a thread made in meetups?

    25. Well, we should all just meet up in Osaka instead. The Dollpa is bound to be a larf - especially if we can get a DoA contingent together and hijack one of the bigger tables for a con-party.

      Darren.

    26. Just to clarify, would the meet-up in Tokyo be on the Saturday or the Sunday, and around what time? I need to know which trains to catch there and back ;)

    27. As seems to be my cursed fate with Dolpas, I have to work the day it's on. (Swear to god, I've had to work every single Dolpa since August '06 :doh). An Osaka Dolpa meet should probably get its own thread though.

    28. If that`s the case I`d be missing out on it as I have to return the states for about a month :X Not to mention I didn`t have plans to go to the Osaka Dolpa D:

Well, if there`s sulking to be done this month, why not have it on the same day as the cruise around the same time in some izakaya? I have a couple of places in my mind where they have separate rooms so we can yank out dolls or something .

    29. auhhhh
      he's cool but
i just want the clothes n shoes set XD

    30. I'd love to meet up with everyone, but I'll be on the boat at that time :sweat. Would it be possible to do something on the Sunday as well? Or maybe earlier on the Saturday?

    31. wow! he's amazing boy, increible, very handsome...
But a dream! I can imagine that he will be hard difficult to get, and Veeeeeeeeeeeeery expensiiive! >.< OMG

    32. Oh dear... He's so amazingly beautiful it's just not fair >.<

    33. I bet as soon as you see the acceptance email, you can just hear your bank account dying. :)

Congratulations to anyone who gets to go/ SFReisner!

    34. Congratulations to those who got to go. I wish I could of gone:) But onto the all time important question. Did anyone get pictures? I would love to see them and especially of the ship itself. I used to be a sailer myself lol.

      Thank You,

      Briar

    35. So, ANY news about this event yet? Pictures? I've not seen anything on YJ either, auction-wise!
      Alex

    36. SF Reisner was not given out on the cruise - he'll arrive to the attendees' homes some time in August.

I have photos and a report coming, fear not. Just give me a little more time to catch my breath (it's been a busy month! *_*)

    37. Yes! I can't wait! :D Take your time *waits (im)patiently* ;)

    38. Oh! I didnt realize that! No wonder they're not on YJ yet!
Thanks for the update and I'm looking forward to reading your report!
      Alex

    39. Please take care well. ^_^
I'm looking forward to seeing your report, too!

    40. No way he's already that high :(!!

    41. I can't never pay so high amount for him ! >__< ough

    42. he is really a very very far off dream....

    43. Well, that's just the most expensive one up right now.

      http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g69024635
This is a bit more reasonable so far, but if the bidders get desperate enough, he'll go higher without question.

I'm still holding my breath to see what the average price ends up being.
My guess is about 250000 - 300000 yen, as I don't think many people would be too keen on spending 4k on one doll despite the rumors that are pointing towards that.
It'll probably float right under there, not quite reaching it.

We'll see what happens once the actual dolls start arriving.

    44. Wow I'm so slow and I have my Reisner - I didn't realize a scar faced version was out until today because I'm very very slow and haven't been on the boards so much. He's amazing and I love his default outfit. <3 I hope somebody on the boards is able to bring him home and spam us with photos!

    45. Still working on a report of the Cruise (gomen, work is insane and I'm slow :sweat), but a certain captain's shadow turned up on my doorstep last night and I've posted some quick snaps of him here.

More to come, I promise! :)

    46. Sorry it took me so long, my report from the Cruise is now up on my LJ.

If you'd like to read the whole thing (which includes my trip down from Kanazawa to Tokyo), you can do so here.

Or if you just want to skip to the Cruise itself, you can start reading from here.

      :)

    47. Thank you for the detailed report of the Cruise, pithethaphish. I enjoyed it and loved the photos you took. This trip is one that few USA owners can even dream of taking, but thankfully, I got to experience a bit of it through your eyes. Thanks again!

    48. pithethaphish, thank you for your story and photos. I enjoyed reading it and hope to go to Japan some day. I love your F-6 girl!:)

    49. Thank you for the report~
It's enjoyable to read that ~
poor you that did not have a companion. I wish I could go and accompany you to the event.
I think it'd be fun travelling around in Tokyo
      Cait is so cute~
the abandoned boyfriend part is cute to read~

    50. Thank you so much for the report, pithetaphish! I'm reading it now! :D

    51. Great report! I'd also like to warn you not to get in the way of Japanese old ladies and Sumo basho.

    52. I'm glad you're all enjoying it :)

And fear not, I'll never be messing with Japanese at a buffet table ever again! :sweat

    53. my gawd ~ he be mine ~ haha~
