Volks Owner Appreciation Event Tokyo Disneyland 09

I'm hoping that Volks will rerelease them sometime afterwords in their default undies like the rest of the SD-to-YoSD dolls. That way they'll be less expensive, and most likely available to everyone!!!

I think that would be nice! Such a shame Yos are only limited... Would the white slip be like the ones that came with the Yo-SD 4 sisters? They should offer it for those who don't get the outfits.

 

Ummm not to burst your bubble or anything, but it's my understanding that the new Yos for the Disney event are not coming in the dwarf outfits. ^^;;;;;;

Personally, I suspect a lot of people will order all of them and there will be a huge amount on Y!J just like with Yo Tenshi Yuki and Yo Tenshi Yuh when they were pre-order. I think a lot of them will be going for close to original retail price in yen on Y!J (One thing to always remember is sellers on Y!J do not pay any fees unless an item sells so some people start their items at ridiculous prices but if you look at what actually sells... the prices on most of the Yos have recently been closer to retail if they sell.)

I'm grateful a lot of people will probably speculate and pre-order all the dolls since it will keep the prices from being as outrageous if fewer people ordered the dolls.

However the biggest problem for us will be the yen is incredibly strong right now and so even retail is quite high. I believe they are like 43,000 yen which is like $500 w/o any fees or shipping.

 

Actually, the Disney event Yos do come with the outfits.

...Unfortunately, they're also priced at 49,000 yen as a result, which puts them at almost $550 USD for the current exchange rate.
ETA: Apologies, I got that wrong -- they're priced at 39,000 yen, which puts them at around $450 if you include tax ... not so bad after all! ^^

 

Hmmm I could have sworn someone was complaining that there were no guarantees about the outfits...

But my point still stands, the more people who speculate overall, the lower the prices will be, as there will be more available for sale and I personally think the prices will not be so much above retail.

The big killer for people in the US will be the miserable exchange rate.

 

Perhaps they meant the event limited outfits? The Yos are guaranteed pre-orders to all attendees, but the outfits will be sold by lottery.

And I never disagreed with your points about speculative pre-orders and the secondhand market -- I couldn't agree more, actually. And I completely concur re: the murderous yen rate ... my Y!J purchasing screeched to a dead halt about two months ago. ^^;

 

Me too!!! Little Mimi and little Nono are just sooo cute!!!

If they did sell them without the dwarf/elf costumes, I think the girls would have the same little slips and undies as the YoSD Four Sisters, and the boys would have a little tee-shirt and shorts.

Oh, I hope I can get Mimi and Nono!!! I already know what their personalities would be!!

That's the price before tax; with tax they are 40,950 yen (only at Dolpa do you get the chance to buy the LEs without tax). Also, yes, it is the LE outfits that are lottery only, so no guarantees on them

 

It would be awesome if they were released again with the plain undies! I remember reading something in this thread about them having a different body . . . who knows, maybe they will release them a second time with the regular Yo body.

I'm so excited to see the new little ones in February, especialy Nono and Mimi! Though if the price is too high, I might just talk myself into getting a BIG Mimi.

 

I so want the tiny Nono! Big Nono was my first doll and I've always loved her big melon shaped anime style face

Luckily my work may be giving a bonus in Feb, although with the current economy who knows. *crosses fingers*

The on the second hand market could go higher than the standard base price of 500 (like you said w/o fees or shipping not to mention scalping...)

I hope you get Mimi and Nono, what would they're names be? (if you already hadn't mentioned it).

Yeah I heard of them having origin bodies or something along that line...I'm still confused as to what makes the bodies different though...
I hope for everyone's sake the price isn't too high but a SD sized Mimi sounds like a wonderful plan as well.

That would be so cute for your SD Nono to have a chibi of herself. Nono's melon head is so lovable (but not so much when it comes to putting wigs on without a wig cap!).

 

I'm dying to see pictures of the YoSD "Origin Body"!!! I hope people will take lots of pictures of these little cuties!!

LOL, as an owner of a (white skinned) Mimi, I can highly recommend her!!! I love the mold to bits, and she'd look so cute with your Gwena!!

I love Nono's big round head and large eyes!!! I always tend to like the more stylized heads more than the realistic ones. I hope you can get little Nono!!!

 

Oh, I'm still not certain about their names, but right now I think little Mimi would be Charlotte, and little Nono would be Seraphina!! Oh I hope hope hope I can get them someday!!!

Have you tried using velcro tape on your Sweet Dream Nono's headcap? It helps a lot to keep wigs on. I have to struggle a bit to get Virginie's wigs on, but as long as they are regular SD size, they should fit in the end!!

Are the Yo's pre-order? Or will they be taken home the same day? If they are pre-order, does anyone know when Volks will ship them out?

 

Sweetiemi: The Yos are pre-order on December that's what I was told by the service I went to commission getting Nono for me. I'm thinking if they have to pre-order now then they'll be taking them home on February when they attend the event.

Seven dwarfs were mentioned, and it looks similar. If so i wonder why there's no Snow White, that would be nice to see...

 

Snow White and the Queen were the two SD16 girls from Dolpa 20.

And we were given the choice for pickup or delivery to our homes for the event dolls...I selected delivery as I didn't want to haul multiple YOs all around Japan for days. I have no clue when they will be shipped. I do know that we have to pay the bill for them by the end of January.

I know! Volks makes such sweet molds they get even cuter in yo form! I love love love Yo-SD Sweet Dream Nana, but I prioritized my doll list and Kurumi came first...My Kanon is not happy about it since she really wanted a friend her size...

 

Is this the first release of Sweet Dreams YoSD Nana? I think it's really cute that Volks has a four sisters mold in several forms: YoSD, SD10, SD13, Sweet Dreams SD10, and now Sweet Dreams YoSD.

I'm looking forward to YoSD Mimi, since I already own Sweet Dreams SD10 Mimi. I also hope to complete the sisterhood with SD13 Mimi and SD10 Mimi in 2009. I wonder if they'll release a Sweet Dreams YoSD Mimi?! They did it for the four sisters mold, so I hope they do it for Mimi.

 

Yep, first release of SwD Nana in Yo form. I do hope that that make SwD versions of Nono, Mimi and Syo like that already have for the SDs.

 

I think just like fashions or books or movies there are always new people entering the hobby to appreaciate the classic molds like the 4 sisters. I think it is very awesome that they are releasing SwD Nana in Yo form.

 

I would like the outfits though. Woulld they be selling them separated.

EDIT: Daniel Falls you are awesome xMillion. I actually just have an SD13 Mimi and SD10Mimi head (but now the SD10 is on the SD13 body so it's a SD13 Mimi head). I was really close to purchasing a SWD Mimi head from the marketplace and I want this Yo, but alas, a bed to sleep on and a place to stay is more important at the moment.

Miki-Congrats on the SD10 Mimi head. You have liked her for so long. I'm glad you finally have her. You should eventually get a swarrico body for her. I have mine on a swarrico and she's so cute when she sits in that cute sitting pose!

Is it just me or is the color of the outfits in the first group pictures much different then the color of the outfits in the single pictures? I like the the purplish/grey color a lot better but I'm thinking the blue is probably more accurate to the color the outfits actually are... anyone know?

 

I think the group photos were photoshopped to give it an aged-look or sepia-overtone, which makes the baby blue outfits look grey-purple. From the stock photos that Volks sent us, the outfits are baby blue with matching baby blue trim on the boots.

I had a dream that someone was selling Syo without face up, and he looked nothing like the Volks pics. i am excited to see him and the others

I didn't have anything to do today, so I painstakingly went through all the paperwork that Volks sent. Some highlights:

♠ You can have a dolly portrait taken by a professional photographer in the Rose Chapel.
♥ Late-night party where you can chat with Mr. Shigeta, the sculptors, and the face-up artists.
&#9830; THERE WILL BE ONE-OFFS. >o< I can only imagine what the price tags on those are going to be. If it's the Genji Monogatari dolls, I'll be so dead.

 

Neverything, thanks for posting that - we haven't got any paperwork on the US side besides an invoice to print and a brief schedule (times only, no descriptions). Am I glad to hear confirmation there will be one-offs, or really unhappy?

Even if they did make these dolls, how will I be able to buy any of them if they're only available in event shows and such in Japan. Will they make them available as basic Yosd on Volksusa?

 

Right now second market or through a buyers service would have been the best way of getting the dolls.

Not to say that Volks may rerelase a doll at another event. So far volks doesn't have basic yosd they are all limited.

Most of the buyers services were taking orders in December though so best bet would be Y!J or marketplace

No, they've already said the dolls are only available to those that go to the event. There won't be an after event for this either.

So unless we get lucky and they bring them over for the next US Dolpa, I think the second hand market is going to be the only way to get them.

 

There hasn't been any word of it but the Yo-SD Four Sisters were offered at the NYC Dolpa last year so who knows
