Volks Hometown Dolpa Osaka 6 August 1, 2010

Aw Isenn, I feel your pain. I was in the "not tell husband anything stage". I have since moved to the "puppy dog eyes on the verge of tears stage". I am slowly trying to convince him that I will be intolerable to live with if I am not allowed to try for this doll...I think it might be working because he happens to want a new guitar. My subtle manipulation would put an addict to shame...you maybe be on to something with that intervention idea...

 

As long as we come back, you're welcome to join me!! Yes, I'm now convinced that I NEED Lieselotte!!! I keep praying that VolksUSA will release her here!!! I love Charlotte too, so if Lieselotte isn't available, I might try for her.

Let's all die a little together (just a little that is! )!!! I've fallen head over heels in love with Lieselotte, and I'll die even more if I can't have her!! I've hinted to my mom that I might NEED one of the new dolls, but as I'm not sure how much VolksUSA will be asking for her, I haven't bugged her too much. I always pay my mom back, so I'm hoping, hoping, hoping she'll be merciful to me.

Oh, I am 99.9% sure that Lieselotte is a white-skinned Luna! Not only do they have the same "cupid's bow" lips and eyes, but both their names begin with "L", they both wear BTSSB, The website hinted at "a girl we have all been waiting for", and Luna was originally released at Osaka Dolpa 3!! It just seems too much to be a coincidence!!!

Oh, a white-skinned Luna is a dream come true!!! I just knew Volks would release one someday!!!

I'm safe this time...I don't want any SDs at this time and I won't buy a YOSD until I know I like the size. I am interested to see what clothes are offered on the American site though from the Dolpa as I'm on the lookout for a cute outfit for my upcoming MSD.

 

Cammy I am with you especially with those blown up photos. If it is not Luna it is definitley very close to Luna's mold. I just pray she gets released to Volks USA. Charlotte looks so much like Kurumi with a much better face up. I prefer Charlottes outfit to Lieselotte's, I really do not care for that Holly Hobby look but I will live with it if it means I can have Luna.
If she does not get released here Charlotte would not be a bad exchange. I prefer Charlottes face up and outfit to Lieselotte's.

I hope you can get Lieselotte, Tsukidoll!!! I know how much you love Luna, and a white skin Luna if even more fantastic!!! Maybe if you get her you could trade her outfit for Charlotte's! I'm sure there is someone who wants Charlotte but prefers Lieselotte's outfit. Good luck!!!

Ciera does all the faceups for the Harajuku Memories dolls, so you're right!!! Ciera's dolls are always so adorable, and Lieselotte and Charlotte are certainly no exception!!!

 

All right, I need to know if Charlotte is actually Kurumi or just has a very similar look? If she is in fact Kurumi again, I may not need her afterall. She is SO pretty but I wouldn't need two of her. Opinions anyone?

 

LOL Roweena, she looks so much like Kurumi to me but with a much prettier face up. I want to know too. If Lieselotte does not get released here and Charlotte is NOT Kurumi I would be interested. You might just get out of this one wallet in tact lol Since you already have Kurumi and Luna. I will so cry if they dont release her here. The more I obsess about Lieselotte the more I can tell it is Luna.

 

Oh, I'm convinced that Charlotte is a brand new mold. She looks a lot like Kurumi, but her lips, nose, and the shape and spacing of her eyes are different. Her braided hair is suggestive of Kurumi, but I'm sure that Charlotte is a new and unique mold. Yay for more Harajuku Memories girls!!!

 

I don't think she's a Kurumi, I'm positive of it actually. I checked the faces side-by-side in a photo editing program with official photos and some owner photos of Kurumi with different face-ups and Charlotte's nose seems more button-ish and her eyes seem to be a bit more pointed at the outer edges as well as the cheeks being rounder and not as pointed a chin.

I think that's why I'm so in love with her. Her cheeks and chin are closer to Kun's than they are to Kurumi's, I agree with whoever said before she's like a Kun and Kurumi mix; My two favorite SDs... Once I get a job and get both my Lins I will defiantly be buying a Charlotte off the second-hand market for an insane mark-up, there's no way I could not. Even if it takes me years, I'm getting a Charlotte! Thanks Volks, said I'd never get an SD then you go and release the most perfect one... I guess the twins will have a mother or older sister someday...?

On the other hand, I'm going in for a Puff for sure! He's one of the cutest YoSD boy sculpts, if you ask me. I can't not give him a chance while I have the money on hand, I know I'd regret it if I didn't. Although knowing my luck right after that Volks will go and do a re-release of Shin and Lin.

 

*squints* Okay, looking at Liesolette, I am pretty sure she is not Luna now. According to Angel Den, Luna came with 18mm eyes, and Liesolette comes with 20mm (if my eyesight doesn't fail me, that is, lol). Also, her eyes look less heavy-lidded than Luna's do -- I think that's what makes her look so different to me. But who knows, Volks can be strange!

That said, if she isn't Luna, I really really hope she won't be a Dolpa exclusive . . . 'cause I think I kinda love her.

Charlotte is ten kinds of adorable, too. She looks like a slightly more pensive cousin to Kurumi! Volks is putting out two of their cutest (IMHO) SD girl sculpts EVER in the same Dolpa . . . our poor wallets! Cammy and everyone else wishing for one (or both!) of these girls, here's wishing us all luck!

 

The red gingham dress on Lieselotte is first BtSSB dress owned by Momoko Ryugasaki in Novala Takemoto's novel "Kamikaze Girls". It didn't appear in the film version, but in the novel it's described as, "...a red gingham-checked dress with a shirred bodice and three tiers of lace on either side, the whole thing accented with red ribbons and extravagantly adorable corsage-type roses."

Does anyone know if it's an old design from Takemoto's time at BtSSB?

 

Its an older BTSSB dress-from 2001 or 2002 I would say. It is actually the second time Volks has offered this dress. Previously it was on a limited edition Kira.

 

Ahhh i really like both of them. I don't think liesolette is luna - luna has heavier lids. This girls eyes are more like kanons. @merangel i don't know but this dress is a remake of volks first collaboration with btssb http://www.angelden.net/volks/sd10/kira-btssb.php yes it is an old design, so possibly.

 

Okay thanks so much everyone for your opinions!! I'm entering for a yo Alice though and there's only so much money to go around If I lose out, well I may just go for Charlotte if they ever release her over in the states. I do love both of these girls. I see what you mean about Charlotte looking like Kurumi's cousin Dolly and the eye difference in Lieselotte! Ah the prettyness is almost too much lol! I think Lieselotte is a white-skinned Luna, but I could be wrong. I don't think we'll know for sure until we see side by side comparison pictures of her with an original Luna. I do love Lieselotte's larger eyes. She's just soooooo cute!!!

 

I noticed the change of eye size also Dolly n_n Actually I noticed when I did my mockup I had to make Luna's glass eyes bigger to match Liesolette's eyes. In the scans of Liesolette's you hardly see any white around the eye~ I think Volks made this choice to make the doll look cuter, but if you see pictures on angelden of Luna you see a lot of white around the eyes. Perhaps they used the same mold but decided to move up a size. If anyone has a Luna wearing 20mm eyes perhaps she'll have the same look as Liesolette. I think the original makeup Luna had was very bare, so it seems her eyes are smaller, while they definitely gave Liesolette heavier eye makeup makes her eyes appear much wider. It's hard to go by the eyes and makeup alone because the look of the doll can change so drastically with new eyes or face-up.

Of course I can't say for sure either, but seeing the larger scans I'm leaning toward her being a WS Luna version. As someone pointed out, Volks had mentioned they were bringing a girl back after 3 yrs, the names both begin with 'L', the logo volks used had Luna's signature crown and bow accessories decorating the logo, and that 'chu-chu' mouth almost solidfies it for me. Of course we'll find out soon enough...it's kind of fun to play the guessing game with scans. xD

Papi and Puff were also released three years ago - coincidentally the same Dolpa Luna was released at. The message could be referring to them as well, although I never thought Papi and Puff were that popular. Guess I was wrong, what with the re-release!

Anyways, Lieselotte is such a gorgeous doll. It's a good thing I like all my cutesy dolls in MSD range, otherwise I'd be mad for her. I don't think she's a WS Luna but I'm not the biggest Luna fan so I can't say for sure. Her eye shape and lip shape look a little different to me.

 

Ahh. Charlotte is so for me. I think I'm gonna try for Sakuno, the blue hair DD girl. Her face!
Hopefully I can get Charlotte at a second hand sale. I can't afford her straight from Volks right now

Lieselotte does look a lot like Luna. I hope she is for all of you!! I don't want to own a Luna, so I'm lucked out. I love her teeth though~

Such a problem. I LOVE Charlotte, but I've always wanted a Kurumi. Lieselotte is lovely as well. The mouth alone. And Puff besides.. AND the school uniforms.. Yes, quite the conundrum.

Oh my gosh ^_^ Charlotte is -SO- cute! I don't really like her wig so much... but I love her face and poofy white outfit! I think both girls bear a strong resemblance to Luna and Kurumi.. but somehow Lieselotte's face seems different from Luna's... in her eyes and nose. I agree that Luna looks more heavy-lidded than Lieselotte...

 

The outfits are pretty amazing, and I hope that Lieselotte will be widely available as opposed to Japan-only. But does anyone know which Volks headmold is wearing the striped shirt and khaki coat outfit?

I think the dress was released in 2002, which is the same year Kamikaze Girls was published, but I don't know whether or not it was designed by Takemoto. According to Avant Gauche, the picture of the dress was in the 4th volume of the Gothic and Lolita Bible, which was published in April 2002.

After carefully obsession---er... examination, I don't think it is a Luna. They have some similar features, but the token Luna glare/glower just isn't there. She doesn't have that aura of superiority that Luna has, heh. If it is a WS Luna then I'm in trouble, for I'm already getting a Ran and I've always sworn to get a WS Luna. Yikes.

I think the best way to resolve questions of the girl's parallels to Luna and Kurumi would come with clearer company stock photos...Evilly I don't think I can wait that long T____T;;;
I'm already sadly thinking of the insane second-hand market value of Lieselotte >_<;;;
I guess Mother Super Dollfie "granted" a [maybe] sort-of-Luna-ish wish now if only she'd be released internationally...or more preferably given to me on my doorstep for free (lol, like that will ever happen~!)

 

Definitely not an F43, which is more an SD sized head and looks a lot like Carol and Kikyou. I was thinking F44 maybe?

Yes I agree with you here. Yesterday I was looking at owner photos and Kurumi is all over more pointy than Charlotte. Kurumi's face is also more concave if that makes any sense.

I have never been in love with Kurumi or Luna for some weird reason. I adore looking at all the beautiful owner pictures of them but they never seemed like the kind of dolls I would enjoy customizing myself . Thus, I simply admire them from afar. Rikka, I also have always loved Kun's face. She has been an FCS temptation for me for some time.

I am sure that the reason for me liking Charlotte is that she has this Kun-ness with a sprinkle of Kurumi. I think she is a brand new girl

Is it possible that Volks reworked Kurumi and Luna like they did with Souji? Just a guess. They both look so much like those two girls that I just cannot stop thinking that is who they are. Plus face ups make dolls look so different and with just a few little tweeks they can be the same doll different version. Just a guess. I guess we will know soon enough.

 

They are definitley not the same mold at all. Look at the open and closed mouths in the close ups.
But they are both gorgeous girls. I LOVE Lieselotte and Charlotte's wigs. I only think Lieselotte looks like Luna not Charlotte. I think Charlotte looks a lot like Kurumi. They are both beautiful in my eyes.

I am a bit late to the party, but wow, I am NOT safe at all from this one.

I love Lieselotte, her face, her outfit (I am huge fan of BTSSB for myself and my resin girls) and her shoes are to die for XD I think I'll have to enter for her at VolksUSA. I hope she shows up there!

As to if she is luna or not.... her bow lips don't have that hanging bit just under the bow thats a really unique feature to Luna and she looks allot younger, her eyes to be look a slightly different shape also, they go up and then slope down where luna don't. I guess we will see!

I doubt she could be a response to our luna petition its too soon after we sent it (read must have been created and designed before we submitted that)

 

I am going for both these girls with every chance we have! They are amazing.

A few people thought Charlotte and Lieselotte were the same mold ( I can tell they are not the same like Kurumi and Miruku)

If they are new molds I am not sure who I want more. I love Charlotte as a full set, wig, eyes outfit. But I love Lieselotte's mold because of those Luna like lips and that wig is to die for but I do not care for the outfit, although it is adorable ( dont write me hate mail) it just isnt for me. But those faces are adorable on both girls!!! It will be up to Volks USA( or Rochelle to who I enter for, or get.

I'm still not sure. She looks very like Luna to me...but photos do make it complicated. The larger size of eye used and the faceups might make it too confusing for us to determine without official word from Volks.
