Thank you for all your hard work! I am so happy I can avoid evil Ups so this is actually really nice.

 

Rochelle is correct the USPS gouges you on shipping. I am shipping a body and the cost of the shipping box and shipping is $50 totally ridiculous but what can you do. I prefer to buy from KL because I dont get hit with that extra CA tax fee of 9.75% so I figure paying more shipping still saves me $$$. Plus Volks manufactures the dolls where KL and WLD are not owners I imagine they have to pay more than actual cost.
As far as your photos Youza! Gorgeous!! I love Luna. She has been my #1 want for over a year. I am still waiting for a re-release, hopefully at the end of next year so I can save up after my Lieselotte binge.
Rochelle your doll shop is just adorable. I would love to own an adorable shop like that but something tells me I would never have any profits because I would spend them all on dolls. lol
I look forward to my girl.

 

Our dolls are here!!! For those that love Luna and are getting Lieselotte you will not be disappointed. To me she looks like a white version with small differences. Both girls are gorgeous so you all will be pleased.

I have wanted a Luna for some time and she seems very close to her sculpt :-)
I am so glad you are not using UPS. Even though the USPS is high my packages always seem to come through fine-unfortunately my UPS packages are usually very dirty and banged up when they arrive.

 

Update - Our little shop helper Lanie is working non-stop packing dolls. She has all the Charlottes done and Lieselotte will be done by end of the day. I am home now and will begin doing USPS labels, bring them down to shop early in am on my off day so many will leave tomorrow and the rest on Saturday.
Was such a beautiful day I made trip to PO and mailed a few Yo's today. If you live in Texas you will receive your Yo on Saturday.

Oh my, that is much quicker than expected! It sounds like you guys really worked yourselves to death, it is very much appreciated though. Kerbey Lane staff always surprises me with their love and devotion to the dolls and their customers, I am for sure a lifetime Kerbey Lane customer. It's so heartwarming, you guys really make me proud to be a part of this hobby. Thank you so much for everything you have given to us doll hobbyists!

Since I live in Texas I guess that means my little Cocoa will be home soon. Time to go run around the room screaming to my family about my excitement. I think that is all I will be talking about at dinner tonight. Please pray for my family that I do not talk their ears deaf, haha.

I've had issues with balloon rates too - they introduced them maybe a year or two ago. I was selling/buying dolls that were 23" tall, but weren't very heavy - so the boxes were big, but only about 5 lbs. And the shipping was exorbitant because of the balloon rates. Big box, but light. I use UPS now for those because of it. BJD are actually heavy though, so I think it's expensive no matter how you do it. :-(

@yenha: Oh my, the more I look at Charlotte, the more I realize that she looks like the very first BJD I ever had. I sold her ages ago but now I'm having some insane nostalgia. It's not just me, right? That she looks like an SD version of Kid Delf Aru??

Shipping Update - Majority of our dolls will ship by tomorrow, del conf #'s have been sent. Have 7 or 8 that I still need shipping for and/or info and since I did not stay at the shop longer than getting boxes ready for PO pickup today (day off) I am not 100% sure if all the DD were packed so I will check tomorrow. Whatever we have left unless special instructions were given will leave Tuesday. We are closed Sunday and Monday.

has anyone else had problems with the DP6 dolls face-up? I removed the eyes of my lieselotte today and o my horror I noticed that the paint/sealer had rubbed off on a spot by the neckhole..! This is the first time I've handeled her since I got her, and I'm always careful with the face, so someting like this comes as a suprise to me...

That makes me think of something. It seems like so many people in this thread are changing the faceups of their Liselottes and Charlottes as soon as they get them. Why is that? Do you not like Volks faceups?

 

My Lieselotte still has her default face-up but I can't wait for her to have a new one! For me, the shade of pink they chose is just too harsh for her white skin. I think Volks did a good job with their "sickly" face-up but I want her to look softer and less feverish.

 

I would say they blushed her all the way to the top of the forehead including the ears and to the neck and I myself am on the fence about whether to change her default as I think it's quite lovely but every time I send a doll out and get him/her back, the results are always amazing to me. I will ponder this for a while longer but knowing me I'll sned her out sometime later...

 

My girl's face up is holding pretty good. I have changed her clothes/wig a couple times and taken her to a meet and she has survived ok thus far. Of course, there is never anything wrong with re-sealing a face up imo ^_^

 

You're welcome Mary, glad she got to you so fast. Only real plus of using PO.
Speaking of PO I am trying to print last few labels and the PO site is not working - grrrrrrrrrrr, can feel my pressure rising. This really sucks. Might try it early in the am before I have to leave for work.

Ahiru: I am sorry to hear that . If I remember it correctly a owner had the same problem a a while ago and she removed the face-up because it was ruined

I have not received my Lieselotte so I can't say if I will give her a new face-up but I think I will. I am not sure what I think about her eyebrows.

I removed my Charlotte's head today and the blushing goes all the way into the neck hole. I noticed that the color rubbed off onto the neck from tilting the head downwards.

So what is the one in Osaka like?

 

My Lieselotte arrived on Monday, although the post master left her sitting on my porch which almost gave me a heart attack. We have a package snatcher in my neighborhood. Anyhow, she came amazingly fast and is just so pretty. I will post photos this weekend. I love Kerby Lane, this is the second doll I ordered and I have been very happy. Rochelle is so helpful and keeps you up to date with what is happening. Congrats to everyone that has received their girls.

 

Oh I am so excited for everyone who is getting their L and C this week. I got my Charlotte this week too and I thought you might like to see her in a different wig. I love her faceup. I am keeping it.

That's kinda why I'm asking about it here. I think I remember seeing someone else post photos of a Lieselotte with damaged faceup on a blog or something so I'm just wondering If there are more with that fragile face-ups out there..

I'm actually very dissapointed since this happened to my lieselotte. I have several other Volks limiteds with default face-ups that I've handled much more and they're in perfect condition.

 

Help - is there someone on this board that bought a DD Sakura Matou that has a torn sock from Kerbey Lane? If so please contact me, I have info about a replacement. Thanks

I haven't had any problems thus far with either girl's faceup, but i laughed so hard when I opened up my Lieselotte because one of her eyes had fallen out and was rattling around in her head. I took a bunch of pictures of it and then just kinda shoved her eye back into place because i haven't had the time or desire to go ahead and take all the hot glue out and re-place their eyes (I don't have any different colors as of yet for any of my SD girls... don't think Yo-sized eyes would work... though it might be funny just to play around with!)

 

Mine arrived perfect. I changed their eyes.

Beautiful pics of everyone's Charlottes and Lieselottes! Just got back from a work trip today and saw the FedEx notice for my Charlotte. So, excited to pick her up tomorrow. AND I have some new clothes for her since I went to the LA Sumika last weekend and managed to get some of the Osaka 6 Dolpa clothes!

LOL about Lieselotte's eye. Usually Volks eyes are glued in so thickly that it takes me forever to pry them out. I do wish Volks would just include the eyes but not glue or even put them in the doll. I change my dolls eyes a lot and that glue sheesh lol

 

I pretty much never change my dolls eyes so I'm happy Volks glues them. I don't have to worry about them shifting later or something.

OMY, Gus I did not even realize that it was Lieselotte and Charolotte. At first glace it looked like Lieselotte with different wigs lol never mind the skin tone. Everyone who has posted their photos has done such an amazing job of customizing their girls.
Quick Question has Volks international sent their girls as well?
