Volks Hometown Dolpa Osaka 6 August 1, 2010

My girl is out for delivery!! It will be dark when I get home so I am not sure if I will get pictures of her or not. I really wanted to change her eyes out to these pretty golden zouks I have, but I am not sure how well they will look with her peachy/pink faceup. I am also a little worried about the dark brown candy curl wig. Oh wells, I can always get another face up for her!

My girl is here! I took some pictures of her with my Luna. They do look like sisters. I also wanted to comment on the dress. It is quite big compared to my Luna's dress. I think this is a little strange that is it so large, but it is still very pretty

Thanks myrianu! I was all set to dress them in their defaults and decide I might as well switch it up! I actually think they look better in each other's default than their own lol.

My girl arrived yesterday Going to set up a photoshoot tomorrow..

 

Miu arrived today and her sister Michiko was waiting to greet her!

I really like her. I always thought she was lovely, but she is even prettier than I had hoped. I do prefer her in other fashions. I had this one planned early on and I love the colors on her.

My Lieselotte arrived two days ago! I still can't believe she's here!

Here is my Lieselotte tentatively named "Sophie", picked her up yesterday at the Volks USA store.
She is in a 8-9 wig and 18mm eyes. Will decide on final combination after new faceup.

UPS just showed up with my Charlotte! I'm really psyched to open her and am going to take tons of pictures. I almost want to put it off for a bit just to extend the excitement a little bit.

Charlotte arrived the middle of last week and I've finally got around to taking photos...dittoing the dress is too large, but it is beautiful otherwise. I do like Lieselotte's defaults on her though

 

That's so great you created a group for the lovely Miss Charlotte Nell and julia, your new girl is just so beautiful! I have to agree the dress is fitted a little bit like a tent on my Lieselotte haha but it's still so cute with the sleeves, rosettes and rhinestones The shoes are my particular favorites!

Yay, I got to pick up my Lieselotte from the post office today since I missed the mailman yesterday~ $140 in customs later (and they wouldn't even take credit card... ;_; ) My girl is home! I have to admit I had been wavering on keeping her during the wait, but then I opened the box... She's my very first Volks. I call her Rook:



I've also put a bunch of wigs in the wig request thread~

Wow, so many lovely photos of these two new wonderful girls! There is so much diversity between all of the new girls, it's amazing. They all look so different just by eye or wig changes, such stunning molds these girls are! Miu is really cute, too! I'm really starting to fall for DDs, that fact scares me a bit LOL. No more must-have dollies, I try and tell myself! And then I keep expanding to different types of dolls I like, truly hopeless I am. But I am a bit saddened to not have seen any Puff or Papi pictures yet. Surely some of you out there got one of these precious little YoSDs? I'd love to see some spam of them while waiting for my little Cocoa from Kerbey Lane!

 

I got my little Papi today!! She is such a cutie. I only have her default wig at the moment but I intend to change it out for a darker brown one from Leeke.

KL is getting their dolls by the end of the week I believe Rochelle said Thurday. Rochelle said they are gonna ship as many as they can soon as they arrive but they only have two workers so please remain patient. I have no idea about WLD.

 

From Kerbey Lane yesterday:
Good news! Our Osaka 6 dolls are traveling to Austin as I type this. We will receive our shipment on Thursday Oct 21. Please keep in mind we have only 2 people in the shop and are closed Monday. We will ship as many dolls as we can pack on Saturday and hopefully remaining dolls will ship Tuesday Oct 26.

 

Thanks so much for the update! I won Lieselotte from WLD but I haven't heard from them since the first deposit made. Hope everything goes on well.

 

Our little shop is going to be packed with dolls tomorrow. I am hoping to have some extra help so we can get everyone's out quickly. Checking the dolls takes most of the time but we will give it our best because I know first hand how eager people are for their new dolls.

I got to pay for my Charlotte's shipping yesterday! I can't wait until she is sent out! It was unfortunately $42, though. I wish it could have been as cheap as Volksusa's shipping, but I'm incredibly grateful that she will be coming by Priority Mail instead of United Package Smashers. UPS has broken TWO dolls of mine in the past!

Thank you all for your lovely comments, it is a little difficult to call what I do "work" - it is a labor of love, especially the Volks orders. I haven't touched my PT in ages or really updated my dolls recently so I will look into changing the backgrounds, sorry if it was a nuisance.

No one feels worse about our S&H than i do but I spent 20 min at the PO the other day accusing them of fruadulent practice due to the stupid balloon rate we get charged. Was told it's because the height and weight are figured dimensionally - whatever that means. PO told me if I don't claim that when doing my labels the recipients will probably get charged for not enough postage so I think it best to just pay it up front. And we do need to charge handling - the cost of boxes, packing peanuts, tape, and time to pay someone to help out has gotten high. This time we actually lowered the handling a bit.

When I began collecting I purchased all my Volks items through Masamichi San @ Crescent and paid a fortune for shipping. I was so thrilled to get my dolls, wigs, etc that I just wrote off the S&H as a necessary means for my obsessional hobby and Crescent's Cust Svc was so outstanding I came to believe the money was well earned. I am hoping most of you can do the same and think it's worth it to get your limited edition dolls.
We stopped using UPS even though it's less money because they left a few people's dolls in the street - almost had a heart attack so we began using PO and have not had a problem(knocking on wood) PO also delivers in less time.

Hope you all can visit our shop one day. It is a pleasure to help everyone I can get the Super Dollfie of their dreams. And you guys are all a hoot too!!!! Love your pics!

I'll post pics of my Lieselotte when I can - Luna is my #1 gal but Lieselotte called my name.
