Volks Hometown Dolpa Osaka 6 August 1, 2010

I wish Baby would release doll sized clothes regularly. Or have some special pack bundle for both the human and the doll. XD

 

It seems that overseas customers who ordered from the international website will be getting their Lieselottes/Charlottes a lot sooner than expected: http://www.volks.co.jp/EN/news/index_news90.aspx

I don't think this means anything for those who ordered from VolksUSA; don't they usually ship things to that store via boat? Although I still feel excited and sort of hope that this means that maybe VolksUSA winners will be getting their dolls earlier too, haha.

 

Aw man, yeah, I heard that too about shipping on a cargo ship. And then once the order gets to Volks, everything had to be sorted. But, maybe this is some good, hopeful news. If nothing else, maybe more pictures will pop up as well? I wonder why the Yos aren't getting shipped out as quickly as the two SDs.

 

I wonder if maybe they just had a better production run with Charlotte and Lieselotte than expected--like maybe there were less defects, less extensive finishing needed, etc. That would explain why the Yos aren't quite ready yet, but Charlotte & Lieselotte are.

 

I was wondering the same thing MilkyTea. Either way, I am glad some dolls are shipping (even if I have to wait a little longer for mine) ^_^

 

So does this mean the Charlottes and Lise's will be on the way to Volks USA soon? I hope so.

I got my shipping notice for my Lieselotte from Volks International this morning, so hopefully it won't be too long until she's here.

My lieselotte is home! I'm so happy!
And she's more beautiful in real life...
Had to pay 2657 swedish crowns (wich is like 375 USD) in tax and customs fees to get her out, so my wallet is kinda empty right now... But she's so lovely it's worth it.

She really is wonderful.. Sadly all my pics from the box opening sucks so I probably won't share them here...

Btw, It's wonderful that they come in the old style boxes. I hate the new drawer kind, so it was a pleasant suprise. I'm a bit disappointed in the dress though, it's HUGE. Also, the lace was fraying and coming off at one of the ends on the front of the dress. The lace can easily be fixed though...

 

Ahiru I am so glad she is home ^_^ I really love the old style boxes as well (I like the new ones too though). I am sorry to hear about the dress. I love the idea of a huge, poofy dress, but the lace should not be fraying. Maybe you can contact Volks about it if you are unable to fix it easily?

 

Um... couldn't volks get the fit of the dress right! gah....

QUESTION: has anyone heard from the two shops for the final payment? I haven't had any notice yet.

 

Oh I must have misunderstood the post, she is saying it is too big for her doll? That is no good at all!

Ahiru I would contact Volks if the dress does not fit. The clothes I have gotten from them have always fit my doll perfectly, so the dress you have might actually have something wrong with it and that should be addressed. I hope you are able to get it taken care of...and I really hope all the dresses are not like this =(

 

I'm actually not that surprised by wonky fit. A lot of the previous BtSSB collabs all looked like they were too large for the dolls wearing them and not especially fitted.

 

The thing is I have the Luna outfit and that fit is quite good... The lieselotte outfit on the other hand is really loose, I can pinch like an half an inch to an inch on each side (meaning that it's folded so it's like a total of 3 inches wider than the actual waist). I don't want to contact Volks about this since I don't know If that's the way it is supposed to be..
anyone know?

 

Ahriu Luna's BTSSB dress fits on my Luna and so does the AatP outfit...they were both perfect. I cannot imagine it is supposed to be so big! I hope to hear from other owners about Lieselotte's dress.

 

I did notice on the promo pics the chest and shoulders looked too lose, but was hoping it wouldn't be the case.

 

I haven't heard anything new from them yet, either. Last I heard final payment is due around October 14-16. I don't believe the VolksUSA dolls will be shipping any earlier than was originally announced, I think that was only the Volks international SD girls who are starting to arrive.

I can hardly wait but darnit everyone's last payments at the two stores aren't due until around my B-day so she'll be here after. Oh well, better a little late than never! At least for people getting their dolls from the stores, they still have time to come up with the money if they are making payments.

watermelon your Charlotte is a real cutie...if I had the extra $$ I would SO get myself that girl as well! Now that I see her wig up close, it is really beautiful!

Sorry you had to pay so many taxes on your doll. We are spoiled here in the US in so many ways.
I always thought the luna outfit was a little too big for her. I am sad to hear that Charlotte's outfit is even bigger. One of the nicest things about these dresses is the shape. I am disappointed.

 

I have Luna's pink dress and it is definitely too big on my girls. I don't mind it, but I am glad to know it wasn't just my imagination.

I heard from another DoA member that payment is due by October 16th.
I feel for people that pay customs but here in CA we pay sales tax of 9.75% from Volks USA so that can be a big add on when your scraping your pennies together for the doll.
I cannot wait to see that sweet little face of Lieselottes. I think I am gonna make my girl a redhead. My F-01 is whining for the wig so I am gonna have to give it to her to quiet her down.
I cannot believe Friday is already the first!

 

I got my Lieselotte last night and definitely agree that the dress isn't very well fitted to the body. Currently I'm just pulling the extra material back so it at least looks fitted from the front. She looks so darling in the dress that I want to keep her in it for awhile!

 

I just got an email from Kerbey Lane that the dolls have landed in LA! YAY!

 

Oh my gosh! This is really true? That's so... soon! Maybe next week we get our dollies, even!

 

Dolls have arrived in Los Angeles but will take a bit for Volks to check them all. Once they have. They will ship to our shop and should be here in approximately 2 weeks.

NOTE THIS PART - Two weeks - then there are only two workers and lots of dolls - they said they will do their best to get them out fast. So add at least another 4 days to a week.

 

This is my 'first rodeo'...so what does that mean for those of us who bought directly from Volks USA? Thanks.

 

How exciting! I got that email as well. I was quite shocked, I wasn't expecting to hear anything for another two weeks or so. I think I'll die when I get an actual shipping confirmation. Our wait is almost up, guys!

 

You'll most likely get shipping notices about 1-2 weeks before those who ordered via the US Dealers!! I can't wait to see more owner's pictures of the dolls!
