Yah! I got my Cristal, too. I was so nervous - I wanted her so badly. Note to those who didn't get her - there is a small chance that my company may go on strike, and I may have to sell her for money. I'm praying not, but if that's the case, I will certainly sell her on DOA where she'd receive the most love.

Sorry if this is a dummy question - but do you know how/when/if Tanpopo's outfit is available? At first I thought she came with it since she's limited and all - but she doesn't. And I love her cute little outfit - I'm hoping to acquire it for her!

 

The outfit is available atthe international after event on the 25th. Otherwise expect it to show up at volksusa in about a month

Hello, I was wondering if there was anyone with experience with after events in Japan? I was hoping to go to the showroom/sumika in Fukuoka this weekend and didn't even realize that the after event was this weekend. I had put Amakusa out of my mind till I realized that now I have a chance to get him but I've never attempted anything like this before.

 

I've been to a couple of Afterevents at the Shinjuku store before - is there anything in particular you wanted to know? The times I went, they have a long line of people outside the store itself and only let people in in groups of ten/fifteen or so at a time, though you can browse without a time-limit once you're inside. Everything is stocked on the shelves just like a normal day, and you can pick up as much gear as you like while you're there. I also recall them offering tickets to people in the line for one of the Dollpa dolls, but I'm afraid I wasn't all that interested in those and so didn't pay too much attention to the details of what exactly was being offered

 

Well, I mostly just need to know if I need to be there well ahead of time, though according to the site it says it starts at 7PM so that's not too hard, and I'm not super interested in any clothes right now since I just bought some from the Harajuku store before I got here *laughs* Is it first come first serve or is it a lottery system? Do you pick the doll up there or do you have to sign up to have it sent?

I've heard the system changes so you might not be able to answer that part, but any advice it very helpful so thank you.

If you get a ticket for a doll you usually have till a certain time to pick it up. ot sure how it works in Fukouka though.

I just realized the web event starts at 7, the store opens at 10. Time to get up early I guess! And thanks Temp~

 

If you plan to get an actual doll, it is done by a lottery system and you have to get there within a certain time in the early hours of the morning (before the store opens) in order to get a lottery ticket. If you're not there in time to get a lottery ticket you will be stuck at the end of the queue behind all the lottery ticket people and Amakusa will be sold out long before they get to you.

According to the email newsletter sent out today, the Fukuoka store is definitely doing it by lottery, and you're meant to queue up/gather at the front gate of the building that the Volks store is housed in. ("ダイエーショッパーズ福岡"? Sorry, not sure how to romanize that.) The lottery will begin at 9am. (This is probably when they will start handing out the tickets.) The store will open at 9:55am. You need to be there at 9am when they are handing out the lottery tickets or you won't get one.

I've participated in a lottery queue to buy an LE doll before. (At the Ginza store, but the principle is the same.) You queue up in advance -- we got there at about 7am. At around 9am, they come out with the Box'o'Doom containing the lottery tickets. They go along the queue and let you each draw a lottery ticket. Once that's done, they will reorganise the queue in order of lottery tickets. Then when it comes to the store opening, usually a staff member will go along the queue in advance with little tickets representing the available LE dolls. You tell him with LE you want, he will give you a ticket for it. If he doesn't have a ticket left, that LE is already sold out. If you get a ticket, DO NOT LOSE IT. If you don't have it, you can't get your LE. Once that's done, they let you enter/queue to enter the store. This is the slowest, most annoying part -- waiting to actually buy the LE you're holding a ticket for.

We were roughly 20th in the queue on the day we attended, but drew 64, 144, and 160 or so. >_>; That said, we got most of our LEs that day. (Everyone was there for Shinku, heh.) So even if you get a bad number, don't give up. Wait until the man with the little LE tickets comes around.

They may do it a bit differently in Fukuoka, I can't be sure, but in theory, that's how it's done. If you feel confused at any time, ask the staff for help.

Oops, almost forgot to add, you are paying for and receiving your doll that day -- so if you get him, you'll be taking him home. AEs are all for available stock only, they don't do pre-orders, so once they sell out of the dolls they have in stock, that's it.

 

I would recommend making very sure when the 'cutoff' time is.
What happened when I went to the AE in Osaka store, they basically took all the people who were in line at a certain time and they got a random ticket to re-line up in that order. Those who got there after that time didn't get a ticket and had to move to the end. Some time after the line was re-formed with the new sequence (people came by and checked your number more than once), you waited some more and then people came by with the 'tickets' for the dolls and outfits. People in the front got first pick, and again they checked your number to make sure you didn't cut.

So, it's important to know if 7am is the time they hand out the random numbers for the 'real' line, or if that's really when you're supposed to start and they'll hand out the numbers later.

I think this is to prevent people from camping there the day before because if you knew you could be first in line, people might start a lot earlier. This way, so long as you get there before the cutoff you have a chance to be first in line, so it keeps people from waiting even more and blocking traffic, etc.... (I had a lot of time in line trying to figure out why once you'd waited in line you got a random place to wait in line some more).

Down at the bottom it has the lineup instructions. I think, and if someone who can better translate this for me can help, the initial lineup is between 8:30 and 9:30? Or does this mean I have to be there before 8:30? I only really ask because I have about a two hour train ride to get there beforehand and the trains don't open till a certain time.

As another option, just to be sure, the Volks website from the Japanese website is open to people in Japan? I had a friend who had trouble last year and just want to check and give myself another option.

 

Hi, I am still new to the Volks After Event. I would just like to know if limited Osaka 4 outfits can be purchased through the internet tomorrow. Besides that I would also like to ask if those limited outfits will be available before 7pm Japan time on 7pm as I heard from a friend that they usually release the outfits earlier than the actual time. Sorry if my question may seem a little dumb X_X.
