Volks Dolpa 18 Discussion.

Kim's wondering what she can sell in order to afford that head because the smirk is killing me. I needs it. *could not care less about Rozen Maiden* Saucy, smirky boys need to be made.

 

I got the Dolpa LA Kuuta, and I have the older Kuuta as well. The new one has a slightly more delicate look to him, his eye holes are smaller, and I think he's painted better, and cuter than the original. If you've been considering a YO Boy, I would highly suggest you get him.

 

I thought the same thing! If they had released Allen at Dolpa LA, I'd be trying to pretend that there isn't a big ol' box in the middle of my room, as well as pretending I didn't spend $1300 on a doll.

I'm with Kim on the "couldn't really care much about Rozen Maiden" bit, although both sculpts are cute. (and I always liked Hina Ichigo, the only character in the series I really cared about.)

I do think the Suigintou head would make a great boy.

The full lineup as announced on the Volks mobile site is apparently:

SD17 boy Alain - price 126,000yen
SD13 girl Suigintou - price 102,900yen (note she comes with the wings. btw her wig is DD size)
SD Cute girl Renee - price 58,800yen.
YoSD Kuuta & YoSD Chinatsu (yes, relreeases like at LA Dolpa) - price 35,700yen each.
YoSD HinaIchigo & KunKun - price 60,900yen (note that she comes with the full outfit and the plushie of KunKun which explains the price difference between normal YoSD. also she has HG glass eyes rather than acrylics like most YoSD).
(Note: all these prices include tax)

So no Elizabeth or Tsurara or Koyuki. Sorry for the false rumours, but that's what was going around the Japanese sites yesterday and until Volks uploaded legit info was what everyone was saying. Maybe next time?

From the only Volks News scan that's up right now (which is pretty small so hard to read, so I can't be 100% certain) looks like Suigintou will be at Dolpa 18 and the After Event both. I'm going to guess the same goes for Hinaichigo.

Fudge. I'm trying to avoid accumulating anymore dolls for a while now and explore other things but FUDGE HINAICHIGO. I have sd 13 girl, msd girl, and am desperately wishing for a yo-sd girl before I like... stop buying dolls... oh how hinaichigo would make the perfect little girlie...

Even if she's pretty annoying in the anime na no~, there's no denying that she can totally induce death by cute na no~ it's funny kun kun is like... as big as she is XD;

Suigintou's face mold is really pretty too. I'm sad no Elizabeth this round. Ever since I heard whispers of her I've been interested to see the face of the girl that'll share my name XD.

 

Lune - in Japanese, there's no difference between L and R, so Lune can turn easily it Rune (Ru-nay) - and with kana, it can be pronounced Renee.

 

Well, it's all transliteration, after all, "rennay" and "loonay" would sound pretty darn similar to the Japanese, or perhaps written in Japanese. Don't they not really have R and L anyhow?

It doesn't say that the kimono sets are one off sets so I imagine they're probably not, but I expect they'll be fairly limited? They have sold kimono sets from time to time in the past at the Sumikas and they tend to be pretty limited runs from memory.

 

Oh YES! I may have just lucked out! I think he looks too young for the character I want him for.

Of course I say that now, and the perfect picture will probably roll down the line in a day or two.

I am not an anime fan (in that I don't watch anime, not that I don't like them) but am utterly taken with Suigintou. I just said to my hubby yesterday that I didn't think I would be getting anymore dolls for a while... spoke too soon.

I agree with whomever said Suigintou looks like an Anais and an F26, although I also see a bit of Liz-ness in her. Regardless, she is lovely.

Does someone have an English link to a Rosen Maiden site? I'd love to know the stories of the characters. *EDIT - found one myself - thanks *

Got scared when I heard the mention of h.NAOTO, but I think I'm safe XD I think I'll be safe as long he sticks to his own lines. If he ever does a HANGRY&ANGRY set for Yo/MSD, or if T.Kunitomo ever gets in on this, then I'll be in for disaster = =;;;

 

I hope we have a chance for the Rozen Maiden dolls at volks usa.

This annoys me. Hina was originally supposed to be a MSD, unless that was just a major typo. ;.;

 

The whole thing was explaining typos in the Dolpa 18 guidebook (of which there was many), so I think it was just a typo.

One more for the night from me via the Japanese fans - the After Event is apparently January 12-14th according to the Guidebook, so approximately 3 weeks after Dolpa.

Also mentioned: the next Kyoto Dolpa is apparently March 16th, the next Tokyo Dolpa is either April 27th or May 5th. There is also apparently another Dress Fair on the 15th of this month. Gah. Because we aren't poor enough as it is. :P

 

Maybe this has been said but are they going to be for sale on Volks usa - I guess yes? and by lottery I lost the last 3 so fed up of that.

Do we know anything about sizes for the h.Naoto clothing yet? When I saw the Jelly and Honey set again, my first thought was that maybe it was for SD/SD13 girls this time -- but that is probably just wishful thinking on my part.

Ohhh, it's Renee! That makes more sense to me. They released Luna not too long ago, so releasing a doll named "Lune" seemed confusing. Renee is such a lovely name! And it is so perfect for a little catgirl!

I like Alain's smile a lot. He seems like a caring, gentle father or older brother. I'd love to see more pictures when they come out!
