I understand shit about these events. Everything is in Japanese and I don't even know where to begin. If I want a Ryoya how would I go about that? Is there anyway to do that as a European. Of course with someone's help.

 

My sister went to PAL Dolpa today.
Ryoya as well as others Tokyo Boy Story's dolls are NOT for sale there.
Only for lucky draw. And the result will be notify to the lucky persons later.

Back to DP27... there's no info released at today's DP PAL?

 

Mizuzu & Rogue-dono -- Will definitely let you know if I'm coming. It would be great to meet up with some people during or after the event! And I will keep a look out in the meet up section for a thread over there. Everything is up in the air right now. I wasn't planning on going but then Volks went and released that gorgeous Shiro ....

I'm planning on writing Volks today about both boys. You're right St. James, if no one writes to them, then they can only guess at our feelings.

Isenn, I have a feeling we might not be seeing any more Volks events in NA for a while. I thought if NY Dolpa was finished, maybe Volks would fire up events at the store and even celebrate their anniversary in LA? But even that seems down played compared to some of the earlier parties and LA Dolpa 2007.

At least we'll see Jun for the AE, even with just the one outfit.

My sister told me that's they announced about the 3 dolls for Dolpa27 (Jo, Jun, Shirou) and revealed their huge banners for each dolls.

I will write to VolksUSA too! I have utterly no pride when it comes to any form of Shiro. I will have my two SD13 Shiros co-sign it if that's what it takes.

 

There're another dolls from the Tokyo Boy Story.
I recalled my sisters mentioned, SD13 Jun, SD16 Ami, but my main focus was "Ryoya" only, so I didn't ask her if there're all of the dolls from the story or just the 3 I said.
And there's also SDgrG Tae for auction (descending method down from staring price at 400,000 yen).
Price ened at 150,000 yen.

 

I am in LOVE with Shiro Shadow Skin SD17 Boy!! He's wonderful!!

 

I am glad Jun is finally being released. But, I have to say I love the original better. :F

 

I've always wondered how this type of auction works; what keeps the price from going super low?

For their Dollfie Dreams, they had Saber Alter and Saber Extra via preorders last year. A couple years back, they had the White Album girls via pre-orders as well. In the case of the Sabers, the demand was so beyond their projections that they had to split it into two delivery periods. So, they have done this before and had success with it. Also, for both of these, they were available through Volks USA/International.

 

But the pre-orders for the dollfie dreams you mentioned are for everyone (even none Volks members and it's not exclusive). So Yukinojo is more exclusive. It's not the same thing I don't think. Yukinojo is expensive so to give people time to gather the funds would be reasonable with a longer order time period too I think.

 

I wish the new DD's where like the Saber preorders. With 50 dollars down and the rest in a couple of months.

 

They did do an open order period for members for two weeks who went to Tenshi no Sato allowing them to preorder Yuki, Yuh, and Hikaru Genji when Genji was released.

 

Ah, right I did forget that Genji had an order period. So there is a precedent for this format, and Genji was certainly not released outside Sato. Still, I think the first Yukinojo was pretty popular with US members, so there's still hope!

Shiro is beautiful, I love his eyes and jaw line (I am not sure if the spelling is right), and even his shadow skin!
I hope he will be available for the international lottery... Volks fans are in every corner of the world .

 

Please, if you want Shirou to be released for US and International lottery, write to Volks! *sent off emails to Volks.jp and VolksUSA tonight* They have really created something beautiful with Shirou and they need to know just how much he is loved and desired by fans outside of Japan.

Is Shirou a new resin color??????　Ｓｈａｄｏｗ．．．．．．．when they say that do they just mean that he is a tan version (same tan as Cecile and FCS tan?) If he is a new tan color then it means Volks now has 3 different tan skin orz.............I do think the photos he looks very orangy but I wasn't sure if it's just because the color was off in the pic.

Oh no I just confirmed with my friend in Japan. He is a totally new resin color so it means he can only be used with his head at the moment. I am sad. I am not sure if I like his skin color if it really looks that shade as the photos O_O

What do you need to sign up for lottery?
I'm interesting in having mdd cirno for my first doll (she's adorable!), but... whatever I managed to dig up seems to be confusing....


Also, she's a touhou doll, and I know ZUN tries to limit touhou-derived merch to Japan... how do they usually work?
Would they likely be available in Japan Volks then outside of the dollpas?
If so, how can I go about it?

I've dropped them a line too about Shiro. I know I'm not gonna be able to grab one, even if he does go to the AE, but I'd love to help! I hope many people can get him (... this way, it'll be easier to grab one second hand when I have the funds! UXDDDD). Let's see what they say. Even if it's copy-pasted, they'll get 10000 mails request and it'll make it easier for them to decide whether or not Shiro goes AE (and Yukinojo!).

I miss the SD10 and SD13 size dolls. That's what I was hoping for in this Dolpa. Oh well !!!

The last few Dolpa Volks has been very kind with the exchange rates, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes that if they bring him and Shiro over the exchange rate will be similarly kind.

 

No matter how kind the exchange rate, those big boys just are not gonna be cheap! I will stay braced for a total of $1700-1900, especially with the giant-box shipping.

(And especially if they DO offer them via VolksUSA; certain of us get seriously screwed on that state sales tax. ;; )

 

Yeah, I think Cirno probably won't be available oversea.

Yup. It's going to be seriously hefty. On top of the price of the dolls, the shipping, we Canadians, get a nice little present from Canada Customs taxes and a handling fee which should be in the $200+ range. Ugh. At least if I get him through Japan site, Volks usually marks the price in yen and it seems to 'Stupify' the customs agents and then no duty. I guess they don't like to convert yen to Canadian or something? It's weird.

I think the letter campaigns are encouraging as they show International support, even if everyone is getting the standard letter back. It's probably a good feeling for Volks too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Come on Volks!

I haven't even gotten that form-letter back yet, and I emailed VolksUSA on Saturday... they must be buried under enough emails that they haven't even had a chance to do Ctrl+V on mine. ^^

I paid $2000 for my first Shiro secondhand in 2005, so I am fully prepared to spend $2000 on his bigger browner more rugged counterpart. He is such a thing of beauty... even though I don't really quite get WHY Shiro has such a deep suntan at the age of 17 when he had ivory skin at 13. Maybe he did get a job at a host club after all, so he has to keep himself covered in bronzer? XD

 

Poor Host Boy Shiro! We'll welcome him home with a pricey bottle of champagne.

A nurse outfit! So excited to dress my girls up. The one white outfit matches one of my uniforms. Mind you I only wear the dress and cap in the summer months...otherwise scrubs! .

Love the new DDs but am still paying off Haruka! .

Wow I really want suntan shiro... Does Volks suntan skin change color over time? Long time ago I remember some issue with suntan turning green but it was with another big company.

 

I have not heard of any issues with Volks sunlight or ebony skin having issues over time. My sunlight looks great and she is ayes told. A friend of mine has had both colors for several years and neither has yellowed or greened that I can tell. I actually think the sunlight and ebony seem to yellow less than the white, but that is just my opinion.
