I thought he looked Shirou, too. They did a good job transforming him to look older!

Not too sure what to put of the Gou neck, but a thick neck can always be sanded down...I find it amusing that Volks magazine is stressing on the POPPING VEIN, TENDONS and MEATMUSCLES of this body. The forearm seems to be a bit overkill and doesn't look as graceful as the SD17.

With Shirou being event-only I wonder what will end up being available to USA members? Here's hoping very hard that we get to jump in on that Gou preorder since he's being made available to VS/VIP members both in shops and online. (isn't VS a free membership?)

 

I haven't seen much that I can read clearly (my eyes are bad) but it does seem to say "Dolpa kaijou gentei" which means "limited to Dolpa facility" on Shirou's listing. Some Japanese tweets seem to be saying the same thing.

Aw, and I was hoping to make Shirou my first boy. I still hope Volks USA will get him though, like how they did with Ami Tokyo Ver. At least then we will still have a chance to get him.

 

You're right ... Jun has the 2 outfits. I see that now. Wondering if people will be able to have the option to buy the extra outfit if they win? I'm wondering if maybe Shiro doesn't have a second outfit too and it will be the same case as Jun, one outfit for Dolpa and one outfit for the after event. I really hope that is the case. Maybe the US will get him ....? Guess we won't know for sure for a while .....

You're not the only one. I'm impressed by the body but I wish the neck was a bit different. And maybe a bit shorter? Either that or a bigger head or wider neck opening. But looks like he can really hold a pose. Whoa ~!

That's very disappointing that the SDGou is only open to Japanese members. Yukinojo was so popular here when he was first released. I wonder if it is to protect against recasts of the brand new body design?

 

Is it really confirmed that he'll be Japan only? 'Cause everyone thought Ami Ayase and YoSD Megu would too... and they came up on Volks USA (even though not for the dealers). oo I am really hoping he will so I can have a chance at the original price. T^T If not, guess it's inflated Y!J for me for that body... ><'

Aw, I was just getting over my pouting about no Tsukasa by consoling myself with the thought of an SD17 Shirou, then I see that he may be Dolpa-venue exclusive.

That wouldn't be very good of Volks to make a new doll that they know will be very popular so exclusive, I really hope he makes it to Volks USA at least. 'Cause SD17's are so pricey to start with that there is no way I will be able to afford him on Y!J.

Oh well, at least this may make the decision on whether to try for Jun or not easier. >.<

 

Wow, the SDGou body....can imagine Yukinojo's head on that body! I do not think the doll in the photo is Yukinojo, he looks more like a grown up version of Ryoya. My avatar is Yuki. Anyway, that B-O-D-Y......

OK, I'm broke, can't afford anything now. Just got my Yo-sd Isao and now......another dolpa?? The DDs are to die for! I am determined to stay out of this one. I should be contented. I said so before, I am not acquiring anymore new dolls. I need a break. I'm serious.

 

Ami Ayase was DP only, but not YoSD Megu...
YoSD Megu was available during DP26 AE Lottery. >.>

And even during HTD and DP26, there were 2 dolls released for Lotteries.
They have always released 2 or more dolls for the lottery~

oh I am safe this time. I am interested in knowing more about that boy body? It seems that Volks is going for way more sexy style bodies these days. I appreciate the look but I admit I'm still happy with the thicker bodies. I guess I like the extra chub. I just finally got a SDgr boy body and it's slowly growing on me. Even if I'm not in on this one I'm definitely going to watch this thread. JUN is super cute do doubt. I hope you all get your dolls!

Well, I'm going to be staring at this photo of Shiro for months (I think my Ryoya is in love ... hehe). Just going to keep my fingers crossed in hopes that he is released at least in the US. I am kinda surprised that he would be at the event only because I didn't think the tan resins were very popular in Japan, unlike the US.

Interesting point about the SDgou Yukinojo, St. James. Hard to say. You'd think if they were paranoid about his release to NA, that they wouldn't have allowed people to test out the body before hand? Who knows what the ever great and powerful Volks does behind the curtain? Not I.

Oh... I heard some agents are already plotting to go to Japan and get those dolls for the foreign market. So yeah, the more Volks make VIP-only-dolls, the more persistent the foreign agents would be. >.>

The monitors who test the bodies are certainly hand-picked VIPs, so I doubt they'd be concerned about them. Volks certainly did get burned on the first Yukinojo release, and now the Graffiti bodies are already being copied, so this exclusivity seems like defensiveness to me.
I guess I start begging through other means today.

 

I am not usually a fan of tan dolls, but Shadow Skin Shiro really has my attention. I'm sad to hear he may be Dolpa only, though I suppose that would make my wallet happy. ^_^;

I agree the clothes are most interesting this time around. I'm sorta jiving on this SDB/SD13 set though. Not so much the flowing skirt part, but everything else.

Oh wow, those hotpants outfits. With halter tops and thigh-highs and long skirtwraps. The big one says it's sized for SD16/17/Gou.... I wanted them to show an SDGou model in that.... XD

Hmmm ... very interesting thought. If that is true, that just makes me sad and wonder even more where will the future of Volks be in Internationally? So for the Yukinojo, is he still available at the event? Would you have to present a membership card when you line up? Has this been done before?

I thought you sold all your organs too, Jenny. I love that hot pant outfit! Somehow it always surprises me to see some of the bizarre (but sexy!) outfits that Volks releases. I think I must get a false impression of them when they release all those cute YoSDs or those pouffy and goofy girls and boys. hehe Well, I guess if all else fails I'll be trying for the headphones, mic stand and that SD17/SDgou black outfit.

I can't believe it too!! Just one SD for the USA and Int. Lottery...? I am really, really hoping they do the same with Shirou and Yukinojo. And the recasts come mostly from China, I can't see why they wouldn't sell them to North America…. as much as I think it's awful not to offer them to the International AE...


I understand the fear for recasts, but I'm sad that they limit the dolls to Japan only and then the scalpers come in... from what I see in Y!J and the Cruise doll prices there are a LOT of scalpers inside the VIP members. :/

And that will only help making the recast market larger since less and less people will have access to the originals... I mean, the more Volks closes their market, the more popular the recasts might turn. And I don't want to buy a recast, I want the real deal… ><'

But well, if the SDGou doesn't come, I guess it's Y!J for me. ><' Just need to save more… and for Shirou too. :/ But I'm hoping that at least he comes to VolksUSA like Ami did…

 

After looking at my Jun, it looks like the same sculpt, but in other ways it looks like a new one. It probably is a re-release on the new body. I always thought the head would look strange on a more mature body though, so I am kind of sad if it isn't a more mature version of the sculpt?

 

From what I heard on Twitter, SDGou Yukinojo will be order-only, so nobody has to line up for him -- I believe this means he actually isn't available at the Dolpa itself. I haven't seen the actual info though so this is speculation.

In terms of overseas, that is normally not covered in Volks News at all. At this point we really don't know what Volks USA will have available.

As St. James suggests, I wouldn't be surprised if recasts are on their minds with some of this. I also have a sneaking suspicion that events have become a major part of their revenue. The number of events (and I've seen this in other Japan-related hobbies) keeps increasing, the number of One-Offs at Tokyo Dolpas at least seems to keep increasing, the dealer's area was bigger with each successive Dolpa I went to . . . They may be trying to get more people in the door.

Man but I dont like the Gou body. I think I'm more excited for the DD stuff this time around than any SDs.

When I saw that the doll lineup was revealed I had a mini heart-attack. The SDGou body is not as appealing to me as it did in the previous teasers. The tan SD17 Shirou threw me into a loop though, he's very handsome! Then again I was saved, The tan appearance did not appeal to me at all.
Now If he where offered in NS......Then Volks might have gotten me.

Well, seeing as that poor SD17 Shirou and his gorgeous tanned skin isn't going to be for those folks in the USA...I'm back to entering for just DD...again. ;___; I really don't want to try my luck in getting him via commissioning someone. (And hoping they win!) The price is killer! >.<;

I really like the outfit selection this time around. I think is what I'll try to focus on instead is snagging a few of those outfits. *must get the DD doctor set* I need a lab coat! D:

No, I've had most of my organs intact up till now!-- the only Japan-only doll I have is Genji, on whom I scored a fabulous secondhand deal locally. And the Volks Faeries are usually very good to me in lotteries, so I haven't really had to bleed much. But now, if that tall brown Shiro (I think he might be one of Shinji's friends) is to come home, and if I don't want to wait around for a year & get lucky in the MP, I will need to get out the scalpel and bucket of ice.

 

Shinji is the only one I know that can carry off a halter and hotpants!!! Wow, I didnt know that Genji was Japan only....no wonder you dont see him often. I feel pretty lucky having won him on YJ then...of course I paid a fortune!!!! That being said, I am ready to pay whatever for Shirou!!!! And I really want Yuki twins so I hope I can get him too!!!

 

I have to admit I thought of Shinji, too! But Fabian, my SD17 Maki, is also demanding that outfit, so there'll be another dark-haired hottie challenging Shinji to a hotpants-off.

 

Well, I am doomed. I need that Jun. I have SD13 and Yo-SD Jun and the SDGrG body is my favorite of all. Guess I am going to have to try for her. I'd love it if VolksUSA has the version with both outfits.

SD17 Shirou might have to find his way to my home. I'm a sucker for big, tall, tan boys and I've been waiting for Volks to bank on that love. SDGou is interesting, but I'm not entirely sure on the proportions. I need to see more. I DO love Yukinojo's head though. Absolutely stunning.

And then finally, OMFG VOLKS HAS LICENSING RIGHTS TO PERSONA. That right there promises to bleed my wallet dry. If they release ANY of the boys (especially in resin) I'm doomed. So doomed. Rise is adorable and I'd love to one day make her my first DD.

SdGou is pre order : 5/7 to 5/27 via volks shop and web. He is 66cm tall around.

Sd17 SHIRO is only DP TOKYO

Jun is available at AE THE 26 May.

Interesting that Yukinojo is such a long order period. Is that the first time Volks has used an ordering period for a limited doll or am I forgetting some other event? That definitely points to wanting to control where these dolls end up. Which perhaps also means that a Volks USA exclusive release of Yukinojo in the future could be possible if we all express an interest. I wrote to both the international site and the LA Sumika today. The only way they'll know I care is if I ask for it.

I see this is happening in May? It looks like Volks might be skipping the USA NY visit again this year. I recall them giving us a heads up months before for their last NY event. I don't wish to derail this thread but this Dolpa made me wonder about the possibility of a US Dolpa?

 

I hope not only USA but Europe, Asia and other country for once !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something is funny about the head/neck proportions on the SDGou.... Or is that just me?
