Volks Doll's Party 26 (Tokyo Big Site) will be 18th December 2011

Yes, Unicorn Kaelin... he was released during the Huis Ten Bosch event. Sadly, there was no clear photo... ^^ But there are lots of huge images in the Korean site that aren't available at Volks Japan/International website. Maybe that's why everyone doesn't recognize him? ^^;;;;

 

No, I mean I know the Lion & Unicorn were already released, I just meant where are the pix/discussions for THIS event? DP26? Or do we just not have any yet, so we're talking about old events?

The only news I remember hearing was for the SDGou, but those posts already got moved into a new thread. Are there any posts left in this thread for dp26 news?

So, I've caught wind of a interesting rumor for upcoming DD releases. By all means do I want this rumor to be true, but there seems to be belief that maybe they'll re-release DDdy Sasara and DD Tamaki, but in their fantasy world versions.

Btw, heard this on Flickr, their source isn't the most reliable, but hey, I don't mind entertaining myself with the possibility! (Check dat run on sentence 83)

As far as I know, Volks have been rereleasing previous sculpts this year. ^^ If indeed the Tokyoboys release is a re-release of old sculpt also, then we might be seeing re-release of old DDs as well...? I don't mind seeing DD Sasara again (and the craziness she will bring after Sabers!), but I certainly will pass her up. XD Good luck Kat~ Hahaha... XDDDD

 

yes... the only new sculpt are Alice and Lorina, even they have the little Alice and Lorina before hmmm maybe the SDGou would have the new mold I guess

 

Yeah, I think the rerelease wave is partially because Volks sees an opportunity for moar profits, and in the case of DDs, because of the recent body upgrade.

I'll admit my fondness for Sasara was negligible until I "met" an unexpectedly sassy one in person at a local DD meet, but she's still relatively low on my acquisition list. And though the fantasy armor would be awesome, it would undoubtedly put her out of my price range anyway. So if that rumor is true, my wallet is probably immune.

Of course, with Volks speculation and rumors are practically a shot in the dark. There's also a rumor going around that we may be seeing an MDD or MDDII release a this Dollpa instead, due to the number of MDD outfits lined up for the November outfit collection.

I'm kind of hoping for a new head mold or two to pine after myself. Well, not that there aren't molds I'd like to see rereleased, but Marisa for instance is probably too new to get one and Nanoha probably isn't popular enough to get a rerelease, so I'm likely to be nonplussed unless there's something new.

Oh but of course! The amount of rumors that pop up around Dolpa time are insane! I also heard about the MDD rumor... I would love a MDD, only cause that means a very high chance that I wouldn't want. COME ON MDD AND NOT THE THING I HEARD.

I have to admit, the armor is what would make me want Sasara more though. I forgot where you are located, but worst case you could win via KL or WLD and then you only have to do 30% down? XD It's how I cheat my way into getting dearies even though I really shouldn't be capable of affording them at the time.

As much as I'd adore something new, I always keep my fingers crossed for a re-release too. I can totally then rationalize the splurge buy in comparison than to a new mold. ^^;

Yeah they seem a bit...re-release happy. xD I wonder what the ratio this year was for new molds vs. old re-released molds? Lol thank you...I need it if she indeed does release. I like her enough to add to wishlist and hope for, but I don't think she's at all worth her price now. If they did a re-release I could rationalize buying her.

Because,WTF, sorry for the bad word but these guide can be sold quickly, once I coudn't get it, I went to the sumika but sold out so no ticket for the lottery, ><
Now I buy them on the site as soon as possible but 880 yens for shipping, o_____0
And The WTF was about the price 2200 yens for the guide book, o__________0
The first one I bought was 1500 yens, the last 1800 yens and now 2200 yens.

It's just so expensive, of course , with it you can enter to the Dollpa too, but 2200 yens, so expensive.
In my case, I need night bus too.
I will go only if the dolls are gorgeous or somebody send me there or if my mother/ friends want to go.

If there's a Suigintou this dolpa, some of my friends will literally freak out. XD But has Volks ever re-released an anime character model? I only know some have been re-released as One Offs, like Maki. But never a real re-release... >.>

 

Well, they did just re-release Saber. Granted, that was as a DD rather than an SD, but it shows at least that the legality of renewing the license is possible. That, I think, pretty much means that any other licensed re-releases are hanging on the license-holder rather than Volks. (It may be worth noting that, judging by the sheer number of figures and DD Saber versions, the Type-Moon Saber license is one of the easier ones for a company to get. I've got no idea how common or rare licensed Rosen Maiden stuff is in comparison.)

 

Didn't Kim mention something about a doll that was based of a copyrighted character (an SD) that was re-released as Bianka and Rose? Momoko Ryugasaki! She was like the Rozen Maiden girls ( so a character doll ) and based off Momoko from Shimotsuma Monogatari, and later they re-released her as Bianka and Rose. (This because I guess she was super expensive and limited.)

Kim was nice enough to inform me of this~ ^^ *passes on the information*

This single fact is enough for me to really hope for a Suigintou re-release...oTL; Though I doubt she'll keep that name. XD

I didn't want to risk them being sold out once I got to Japan, so I purchased mine from the website just now...shipping to the USA was 2,520 yen, more than the guidebook itself!! @__@ But better to pay extra than to miss out...

 

Me too ... I just ordered mine now. I leave on Dec 9th for Japan and I really hope they arrive by then. They're suppose to start shipping Nov 12, so that should be enough time before we leave. I hope ....

I was assuming that they'd do something like that if they re-released her. As you said, avoiding copyright issues. aaaand yeah, USA doesn't have any custom fees...only good point about us. Still high shipping though. xD

Considering they'll be shipping via EMS you should be fine. I've always found that Volks JP was really quite good at getting their items out right away! And then even with Canadian customs slowly things down (I'm assuming this due to location, sorry) you should be totally fine. ^^

 

DarkRu - The books are being printed now apparently, and will not be sold or shipped until the 12th...I'm guessing people in Japan will be able to pick up their guidebooks that day, so we'll probably get pictures then? But if someone working with Volks leaks the information once the book is printed but before it's sold, it could be earlier...

pris84 - I don't have experience with Volks Japan and their ship times, but I know when I order from LUTS in Korea and they ship EMS, it can arrive as quickly as 3 business days later... so hopefully mail from Japan will be quick like that also! Has anyone here ordered a Dolpa guidebook from outside Japan before? Do you remember how long the wait was?

 

Gunter von Christ - Actually I have had to pay US customs fee before. Though it only seems to pop up if the package is worth $500 or more; or if I've had two pricey parcels arrive within the same week both over $350. Thankfully our custom fee's are not as high as other countries though when we do have to pay it.

I have had to pay extra once when the shipping on something estimated incorrectly, and then was shipped out, but that was only within the USA...Ehhh maybe it's based on what they mark for the international stuff. x.x

 

Gunter von Christ - Maybe it has to do with the contents and where it's coming from? My packages were all from Japan; the first time it was a clothing group order I was hosting. Though actually all the boxes that have caught customs charges were clothes it's a bummer. *ahem...okay, I'll back to Dolpa chat now* ;-)

 

I know they have more than once released the Rozen girls as one-offs but not in their Maiden garb, and under the same names. So maybe the copyright only includes the full set?

I would love to have Shinku even without her Maiden outfit but I am not holding my breath. I do hope they release SDGR Alice so some of us in the US can get her without paying double or triple the price on YJ. I just cannot pay that markup. And of course, Luna I have written that a million times since I got into the hobby. I am not sure what I will do if/when I actually get her. I have pretty much all my dream girls now.
We dont pay customs fees in the U.S. unless you happen to a re-sale at least its that way for now. I am sure because of the National debt they will change that in the future. It would definitely cut into my doll item purchases. So is the speculated date of preview pics Nov 12 when the book comes out?

 

@MacaronTea- I'm really surprised you got custom fees as the US don't collect fees off "toys" which dolls and doll accessories are under!!

But I hope they release some new beautiful and cute girls! Though I wouldn't mind a Luna re-release~

Hmm T_T I have to go to Tokyo the weekend AFTER dolpa so I don't think I can afford to go two weekends in a row ;A; (unless anyone has advice on the cheapest/fastest way to get to Tokyo from Fukuoka ><). I realllly want another SDGr girl XD a lolita or classic style girl .

We can't control the prices on YJ. Sometimes I think the doll collectors there are just crazy. >.> Yesterday DarkRu and I watched/stalked a fullset SF Reisner went up and up and up from 30,000 yen to 216,000 yen in a jiffy. ^^;;; And he came from a house of smokers and pets and is already yellowed. The guy had more than 220 bids! Go figure!

I'm with aishiteru, I won't be in much danger if the only big guy released is on the SDgou body. I like the slender, pretty types too much. But a cute MSD or Yo could still make me want to try for a lottery...hopefully my guidebook arrives quickly so I can plan my strategies, hehee.

 

They already announced for this Dolpa that they won't be releasing it, but instead are accepting applicants to take and play with it for a while, and then give Volks their feedback on what they think. So, no SDGou this time around, but for me that isn't good because that still gives a chance to the SD17/SDGr kiddos...

 

I am so relieved SDGou is not being released now!!!! I really can't wait to see the new Tokyo Boy!

I am right up there with you with Suigintou. My friend Roweena23 on DoA has her and I always drool. I lucked out when I got my Suiseiseki so if I never get Shinku or Suigintou I will be okay, but Luna. I need my Luna lol

So, how many people are attending this Dolpa? I wish I could go but I have finals then. Please lots of photos, especially of the one-offs. It is my dream to someday attend a Dolpa and win a one-off. Dream big
