I wish good luck to all of those (including myself) who would somewhat prefer that our savings are left untouched this Dolpa...we can only hope... (I already feel like I may be doomed *places more money into savings for Volks to drain*) The December Dolpas have yet to fail at making me want something. Last year was really hard on me... (Cause I won nothing xD)

What you don't know is that I totally kept his body, so now F38 is forever a SD17~ :3 I would never part with the SD17 body, but when I lose a bond with a doll...they are doomed. oTL; Also we should both be getting shipping notices some point within November, if I am not incorrect? I can't wait to see what you do with your adorable Piccolo~ >w<

I can't imagine paying the prices to get your Reisners from the Cruises. (Though I also think it's totally worth it) You have to go to the event just to get them, right? (Please correct me if I have my information is wrong!) So does that mean you actually got to go, or did you have to pay a commissioner to attend to get them for you? Just curious. ^^ Here hoping for a late Cruise next year!

Secretly, I'd adore to take a Shiro home. It was one of the first ABJD I got to see (online) and to this day I still quite like him...

Another place that is adorable with some dolly sized props is Secret Garden Tea House by Golden Gate Park. (Totally off topic for the thread, but I felt the need to answer it.)

Aw! Yeah he was a sweety, but things happen. ;___; Aaaah, I've dealt with both and to be honest I'm just a sucker for the SD17. I like the SDGr too though~ Both are quite nice. ^^ Just...SD17 = better imho.

Yeah...I do the same thing. Summer and Winter. The worst seasons for doll releases...I think Winter is a little worse though...

Haha, I've been preaching my wanting of a re-released Kaelin for a while...but with that I also want a SD17 ver. of him! I can only dream of getting SDGr Alice! D: *watches one on Y!J that is currently at 200,000 JPY*

Suntan and WS, those are the tones I wish we had. I love NS, it's nice and...normal, but I'm a sucker for special colors. I'm sort of sad that almost all my family right now is plain, ol' NS. oTL;

If you want her BIN it's about 270,000 I think...I need to go open the auction I was looking at cause I think that's what they have her for.

WS is beautiful but I'm so scared about it yellowing fast, haha. Maybe WS doesn't have that problem anymore, I haven't had a doll with that skintone since 2004 ^^;

You have to enter a lottery and the winners can buy them. They check the names against the lottery winners list when you buy and will cancel the order if you weren't one of the winners.

Also they're having a SD owner's Appreciation on November 27th in Korea. They are offering SDGrG Alice, YoSD Little Alice, SDGrB Kaelin the Unicorn, SD17 Alain the Lion, and YoSD White Rabbit.

It'd be really neat if they had an owner's appreciation in the US!~

The US has had plenty of US only events. Korea has its Korea only events, and of course Japan has its Japan only events. It's been a while since they've had a Korean event. The last one I can remember is the one that had the special auction Madoka and SD17 Chris.

I would adore one too...I had a tan head for a bit, but his matching was going to be impossible and because of that I just didn't want to deal with it. Irvin is correct, and he's gorgeous~! :3 I think he has a special tan too, if I'm not incorrect...

WS sort of matters on the company. I've seen various yellowing of WS from the CP green affect to simply going yellow. xD I think I've seen some volks that yellowed mostly due to oxidation go to a creamy yellow? I know they hit a real yellow...but that was like 5+ year old dolls that most likely went outside a lot or had a lot of owners, etc. But this is only from what I've seen. Anyone is free to correct me or give in their experience~ I'll say that none of mine seemed to yellow. And I do keep them out, but they remain away from the sun at all times...

 

I have a very yellowed head... but that's Peroth, and what year was he made again? XD 2006? 2002? 2004? Can't remember... XD;;;; Apart from my Alain and Maki, he's the oldest in the crew. ^^ Volks retains their colors pretty strongly. My Alain and Maki haven't yellowed at all...

Peroth was made in 2007. Mine really hasn't yellowed all that much from his original colour. They were more yellow based to start off with, so it's something I've been a little paranoid about.

I had a pre-2002 4 Sisters head that was actually a perfect match for a 2010 body. Volks resin, if properly cared for, will maintain a very stable colour.

DarkRu - No NY Dolpa this year. And I have seen yellowed Volks WS. Really yellowed oldskin WS can often end up looking like normal skin. Pureskin FCS white skin, which is used now, has a more peach undertone, so I imagine as it ages, that will leech out. That yellow toned white they used for a few LE's is also going to age differently because the colour is different. Now I imagine sunlight will change colour somewhat over time like any other colour, I've just never seen any really old examples of it to see how it ages.

essieki, thank you for the picture. That Kaelin is one beautiful doll! When Volks gets it right, they really get it right! Hopefully, Volks will have more events for the US.

I am still anxiously awaiting photos. I always pray for my Luna but then I sometimes hope I need no one so I dont go crazy. I go nuts with new girls. I would like SDGr Alice to go with my Lieselotte but I would be happy with any of the girl yos as well.
