Volks Doll's Party 26 (Tokyo Big Site) will be 18th December 2011

Aug 29, 2011

    1. I think that might be the case. I did have to call a couple of times in Japan, but other than that they haven't given me trouble. I've had the card for years and have used it internationally for a while. They might just be used to me now :sweat.

Argh, SDGr Nono picked a character on me last night. I still can't afford her but she seems determined to come home someday *_*.

    2. timid - I had to call a few times in Japan as well. I think by now I have a special note on my account to accept charges that come from Volks. I've also recently named both Nonos, which is 'game over' in my book. Yikes! :sweat

    3. I probably do, too *L*. I do recall the embarrassment of having to deal with that phone call at Lalaport Sumika during an AE when I got my Eden . . .

I have to stop Nono scheming! Ack. Good luck to everybody who is entering the lotteries!

    4. I think so. I still prefer DDs as vinyl though. The material gives their skin a flat matted look which is better with their 2D features in my opinion ^^

    5. I can understand that, Izam; I like the vinyl better, personally. Still, it does make me think. I wonder if the new Super Dollfie Dream would have been a resin DD body if the DD body was still strung~

    6. MilkyTea - On the version 1 DD bodies, they were partially strung. One string went from shoulder to shoulder only. Her elbow joints and wrist joints are similar to what they use now. Then there was another string from foot, to navel and back to the other foot. (There is no string which goes completely through her torso.) I hope that explanation makes sense. ^_^;; I would be very curious to know how they did the all resin one-off!

    7. I bet the Graffiti body was the choice because that new neck insert piece would allow the vinyl head to be adapted onto the resin neck, something that would be much harder to accomplish with any of the other resin bodies. She sure is cute! I love the eyes they chose for her!
I shouldn't have examined the clothing list more closely. It has been a long time since I've wanted that much of the selection!

    8. Ooh, where's the clothing items?

Also-- what's the actual page that we'll be using to enter for the dolls tomorrow for the International lottery site? Is it these?...
      http://www.superdollfie.net/en/archive/newmodel.html

I've got the VolksUSA page all sorted out but am never sure which international page.

    9. That's what I'm trying to figure out! Is there or is there not int'l lottery on Dolpa day. Am currently on the road, & operating in reduced circumstances, trying to get bookmarks set for tomorrow.

Gracias for clothing link. Ooh yes boo-ya Black Python outfit, split up as separates into several essentials. <3 Everything else on page not essential. Stiletto-heeled sneakers hilarious.

    10. St. James: the AE is on the international site. I hope the dates will be announced soon.

JennyNemesis: The international lottery will be announced on the front page of the international site. Right now there is no information. I really want to try for some of those cloths myself. Though, I think the AE is two weeks after the initial Dolpa. Anyone correct if i'm wrong.

    11. AE usually ~2 wks after Dolpa yes. Wasn't sure if int'l site was AE only or reg lottery too.
Tx for update link - having to search 46 pages to get 1 URL is a real bitch otherwise!

    12. Ah.. Bad news just came in for me. My friend's queue number at dolpa was 2800+, no hopes of getting ami. Grhhh.... Back to yj again. :(

    13. Ahhhhh Sorry Jo. I just saw some live shots of the queue outside...there seems to be quite a lot of folks out there already!!!! I am already stalking YJ!!!
Here is the link for the live shots: http://superdollfie.tea-nifty.com/repo/

    14. Thx Carmen! Yeah, I heard the turnout was huge. Am stalking yj now too! Hur hur. Good luck to both of us. :)

    15. Jo will Ami be your first girl??? She is the first girl I had after only collecting boys. She is awesome!!!!Thanks you!!! I entered with KL for Mariko but will be looking on YJ for outfits and maybe a dolly?

    16. I heard open eyed Nono was the first to sell out.

    17. Yes! She is one of the sd16 whom I know will stay as a gal in my crew. ;) but her price seems insane on yj now.

Anyone has any idea how many ami were available for pre-orders at the dolpa? And can one enter the USA lottery with a non-USA based credit card but with an USA address?

Lilian, she is very adorable! Good thing is that she is avail for AE! :)

    18. Yay! My friend managed to get Mariko for me~! :D

    19. My friend who originally wasn`t intending to buy and dolls ended up buying both Ami and Nono. X3

As for the Nono head, it`s definitely "flatter" than the old type. looks a bit weird imho.

    20. Is it up on the volksusa website now? I see the sato choices that are available but not an order button. @.@

edit: nvm jumped the gun. Not till 11am pst. Which i think is 2pm est?

    21. I was with 5 friends today at Dolpa and the lowest number we pulled between us was 2058 :( no dolls for us!!! The Tenshi-no-Sumika line for clothing also pretty much sold out early as well, I got a quick look after the line went through and there was only a odd MSD outfit and a SDGr outfit plus the basic volks stock items. So that side of things was a total bust. The dealer room kind of made up for the bad luck, a huge assortment of items. Its late at the moment but I took heaps of photos and I will get a link posted when I get them up on photobucket.

    22. Wow, it sounds like a madhouse there! I would still like to be in that dealers' room, though. Can't wait to see some pictures.

But *w00t* the USA sales buttons are up, for those of us who can't be there in person. ^^
I have cast my fortunes for Chibi Icchan with the holiday-dolly-gods. :hollyberry
And now: a little glass of aquavit, and then the wait.

    23. Good luck!

    24. I just entered for both Nonos! *_* Good luck to everyone who enters! :clover:clover:clover

    25. Sent in my entry for OE nono ;-; -prays-
The Christmas presents i give are gonna be pretty gimp this year cuz of her xD lol.

      good luck everyone~

    26. Another good luck to all who are entering through the lotteries. I just put in for SwD Nono. :eusa_pray

    27. Okay, I submitted my entry for Ms. Mariko!

Good luck to all lottery participants! :D

    28. Finally got two of the outfits. Yay. :D Good luck to everyone entering the Lotteries!

    29. Was there any news about the SDGou body? Are people going to test it?

    30. I'm waiting for that, too. >.> No news yet... But I wonder if the members who went there saw the body...?

    31. The monitors would have picked the bodies up at the Dolpa. How much they would have been able to show it to people at the Dolpa I'm not sure. On the 24th at the Harajuku Sumika there's a meeting for the monitors to announce their opinions and for Volks members to see the body.

    32. I entered for Chibi Jun this morning! Good luck to the others who entered!

    33. I just entered for small Isao. Thanks to cinnabar_rose, Tsukidoll, timid and others for crucial help in resolving and clarifying some issues regarding the credit card freeze and shipping without which I could not have participated in this lottery. Really thankful even if I don't win. It's nice to know there are such helpful people around in this forum. It's been a difficult lottery entry. Now, I wait and see what happens.....:)

    34. My husband entered for Ms. Mariko :)

    35. If somebody is interested I have posted pictures from Dopla 26 :chocoberry here :chocoberry ;)

    36. Thanks so much for the pics!!! I always love seeing what the Dolpas look like!

    37. Does anyone know if Ami will be available on the international Volks site?
all the other dolls are up except her :|

    38. Thx babe! Enjoyed the pics!

From what I know, Ami will not be avail for the International After event. Bad news for me too cos I was hoping to get her. :(

    39. When are we going to know the results?

    40. The Volks USA lottery information states that they're planning to contact winners in early January.

    41. Thanks! I can't wait for January! :)

    42. Congrats all that entered. We will be rooting for you because I need to live vicariously though you all hehe
Thanks for posting those photos I am so thrilled. It is almost as good as getting to go, almost ;)
I spotted an amazing Suigintou on a SDGr body, gorgeous Luna, and that Kurumi is so cute. I love those tartan dresses. Ive fallen for Elena so I am now going to start saving up unless Luna or SDgr Alice gets released soon. I shall remain vigilant.lol<<geek

    43. Has anyone heard a date from the dealers yet?

    44. :D Wooow so pretty! Thanks for the pictures!!

I know the after event date hasn't been announced yet, but aren't they generally something like 2~3 weeks after the actual Dolpa or am I imagining things T.T? I hope the date is announced soon... I couldn't make it to Dolpa so I wanna go to the after event to see what it's like ^^.

    45. Thanks for the pics, they're magical. Love the clothes, they should mention the fashion designers! It's easy to imagine things when we look at the photos. I imagine Millhi princess on a DDdy body. :sweat and that gorgeous F49. :aheartbea

    46. I got to the Dolpa late and didn't even really make it in time to try for any official new releases or the one-offs, but I did get to pick up some cool merchandise, like clear files and postcards with lovely photos at the One For All table. The rest of my money was spent in the dealers' area and I got some lovely things even as some sellers were already packing up to leave. My Japanese is still very limited, but it was enough to communicate a little. One seller (Sweet Trap) whose English was quite good (actually there were a few people at the table, so I'm not sure who exactly I talked to, but they were all terrific) sold me an outfit including a Chinese-style jacket which was the last of the color, size and style I wanted...and it was being worn by a poor unfortunate MSD boy at the time. I had to ask if that was the display only or if it was for sale, and I apologized to him in my poor Japanese for leaving him half-dressed. We all had a giggle over that.

Earlier in the week I'd found a secondhand nude, wigless and eyeless SD13 FCS boy (F-20, a Sato only mold, at that :o) for a crazily affordable price at the Mandarake branch in Nakano. So I got an adorable outfit for him too, from a seller whose name I can't recall now since the boy, most of the clothes I bought, some accessories and their packaging are currently en route to me via Air Mail. That was expensive, but considering that the doll plus the shipping costs and all the things I purchased at the Dolpa still added up to considerably less than the price of a new LE, I feel very fortunate indeed for the results of my first Japan trip and first Dolpa! I'd been considering ordering an FCS through the Los Angeles Sato next year, but the F-20 mold was just perfect for the character I'd been wanting an FCS for! He'll only need a new face-up and wig now. Though the experience of selecting a brand new FCS must be a lot of fun, I saved money and gave a sweet boy a new home this way, so I'm happy. :)

Other things I got at Dolpa included a pair of green glass eyes, a stethoscope for my MSD doctors (I've never been able to find one the correct size before!), a fancy sword for the new SD13 boy, a riding crop in MSD scale, two dresses for my sole MSD girl...and other things I'm probably forgetting. I didn't have my camera at the Dolpa, unfortunately. I travel alone so I end up feeling awkward even trying to take photos - and the big cameras make even people at home suspicious of me. I've been mistaken for a reporter or private investigator before, and I never know quite how to react to that, whether I understand what's being shouted at me or not. :sweat So I'm glad to look at Ksusha's photos, especially since I arrived just in time for the unveiling of the one-offs, but then totally missed that and the bidding because I mistook the hour and was just puttering around on the other end of the convention space. I wouldn't have bid after my earlier find, but I did want to see them at least! :D

    47. Thank you for posting the photos, Ksusha! I love one-off with a hair bow made out of hair, tempted to go try to make one of those now XD

    48. Also chiming in with my thanks to Ksusha for posting your Dolpa26 pics; I especially enjoyed the one of Hinaichigo at the podium, LOL! :fangirl:

And congrats to solitary agent for giving a home to a resin in need! He sounds wonderful; looking forward to seeing pics of him when you have him sorted and ready. :)
