So Happy I got the head and eyes of my 2nd daughter Arale today. She will be a long term project but I hope to complete her by the end of the year. If god gives me life right now she is sharing a body with Panchita

 

So after spending a week going back and forth with Volks about my credit card, first cause the first name thing and then cause they'd put three holds for the amount of my order on at once, they email me today and tell me that everything I ordered except one pair of hands was out of stock. I would have figured they would have told me that BEFORE we spent a week back and forth about my credit card. They said I could choose replacement items but the website isn't even up anymore. I asked if I could just cancel the whole order, because I'm not paying shipping on one pair of hands, 50% off or not.

My Hime will just have to wait for a body. She was near the bottom of my "floating head needs body" list anyway...only got bumped up because of the sale. Thanks for wasting a week of my time, Volks, and toying with my enthusiasm.

 

Sorry to hear that cowpewter I wonder why they just did not tell you that what you had order was gone before trying to charge your card? I understand they want to sale everything and not have stock left over, but they could have told you this before hand.

Sorry to hear that cowpewter, I'm in the same boat! Had to cancel my order because the only thing they had of my order since it got delayed and put on hold was some hands or something. Definitely not worth the trouble *sighs*
Oh well, on the bright side, I snatched up a cute WS DD06 girl from the marketplace that just shipped out to me today!

 

After looking at countless DDs...Thank you everyone for the help!..I am getting a Shining Blade DD. I'm just getting the nude doll. Not too crazy on the outfit or her wig.
I've already got a long black wig waiting.
Just trying to figure out what dress and shoes to get her!
I am SO excited and SO happy to be adding another Volks to the collection!

michaelmichael, my boys outnumber the girls here by about three to one! I find it SO much easier to choose boys than girls. In fact, I am planning to add another DD boy to my group, too.

I am becoming one of you! I'm getting a DDdy III customized 06 from the marketplace. I'm so excited for her arrival. This will be my first DD but not my first doll. Do any of you guys have any recommendations for clothes? I'll probably be spamming pics as soon as she arrives. I also need to think of a name!

My DD arrived yesterday late in the day, but I have to wait until Thursday to paint her, and get her a body suit and wig cap. Her wig, eyes are shipping soon and then this android will need a name and place to sit as well. Definitely have run out of room...

 

Congrats!! Where is the best place to get a body suit? I've been looking at the ones from coolcats since they have a ton, but is there a better place?

 

I was going to go with Volks, but I may have to try Cool Cat as well, I thought Mimiwoo was selling them on ebay, but I forgot.

I couldn't find any on ebay that were white, there were like two nude ones that were like $70 which is a little high. The ones at coolcats are like 36$ I think.

@kymchi I have my body suits from Cool Cats and I am quiet happy with them (already own 4 but defenitely need more soon)! They fit well and Cool Cat has a nice selection of them. I would say they are a place where many DD owner buy their body suits

 

Yes! I'm hoping for Suguha/Leafa and Titania Asuna to be turned into DDs one day. . . though they are both from the Aelfheim half. . . .

 

I got my package from the sale last weekend and decided to shoot a box opening video. Hopefully I'll be able to get a faceup done before too long so I can start taking photos.

 

Yeah seems like Cool Cat is the place to order my body suit from so I will do that and get a wig cap if they have any. I can't wait on Volks to re-open any time soon and the International site is more than I am willing to pay for at the moment.

Hey everyone sorry I was out for a bit, every time I would start to brows something would interrupt me... Urg! However, I got two wigs in the wait and two pair of eyes, they are sooo...... Lovely! Update on my Kosmos, she in Osaka right now and my Yukino, I still don't know where she is, the tracking still shows she left from Indonesia on the 3/3/'14, and arrived in Brazil on 12/3/'14, there is no other info. I hate the suspense of not knowing where my Yukino head could be at this moment, except I have been told that it could take about two months to reach it's destination...

Okay so my eyes and wig arrived from Volks too, and I was all set to paint my DD 07 head, but I am sick with a bad sinus infection and sore throat, so no painting until I am well. The eyes seem really big for the eye sockets. Does anyone know what size eyes the 07 head takes? I thought 20mm size eyes would fit, but I guess wrong

Lovely doll photos all around this thread~ :3 I've been dreaming of buying a Dollfie Dream for some time now, and I'm finally thinking about making that dream real.
I've found some reasonably priced Dollfie Dreams for sale in Mandarake and would like to ask your opinion on ordering there! Has anyone here ordered their dolls from Mandarake? Would you recommend it or do you have something in mind that I should take into consideration before actually buying a Dollfie Dream from them?
I'm aware that some (or most) of their goods are second-hand and that there might be some wear and tear.

 

My Nanoha came from Mandarake, the Fukuoka branch via the website. Pretty good experience! The photos showed all the (minimal) flaws, and they packaged her up quite effectively, even if using balled up plastic baggies as padding is a bit odd. XD

There are really only two things about Mandarake that I can complain about. One is that the website is apparently updated manually, so sometimes items that got sold in the physical store are still listed as available on the site; most people I know have taken to sending an email after they check out so that way Mandarake has to notify them if it was sold already. The second thing is the way items are labelled on the site--complete chaos, not standardized at all. Some items will be labeled as "DD", some will be "Dollfie Dream" in English, and some will be "ドルフィードリーム" in katakana. Character and series names are similarly variable, so if there's one in particular you want, definitely search more than once with different terms! If I hadn't been searching for Nanoha under her hiragana given name spelling, I would totally have missed her.

So, short version: Once you find something and nab it, Mandarake is great! Their website interface and search engine are kind of sucky though, so have a lot of patience and a bit of good luck!

Poofiemus: Thank you for the answer. Yeah, I've been using all kinds of words while searching Mandarake. :'D When searching for things in Japanese you - obviously - get more results as well. I have my eyes set on Xenosaga M.O.M.O. which they have currently in a few of their shops (or at least listed for now).
Still pondering if I should get her from Mandarake, or if I should buy a Standard Dollfie Dream straight from Volks. x3 I'm really fond of Mini Rena as well, so now I just have to decide which doll to get first. Any experiences of buying Standard Dollfie Dreams straight from Volks website? Are they quick to ship in-stock items? It seems that Mini Rena would be available in stock, but do they have things listed at Volks too, that don't in fact exist in stock at the moment?

 

I could just scream right now... Today, my husband went to the post office to collect my Kosmos [head only], only to find out customs is charging too much money to collect item... Some not so smart ... Person ... made a mistake on the item and now customs is keeping it for an extra week... Talk about blunder!! I'm going nuts just thinking about it... I am sure Kosmos feels the same... her head trapped in that little box, waiting to come out!!

Good luck removing the stain, Hakari-chan! I'm curious though, I'd only heard of using a magic eraser on resin before, does it also work on DDs?

Got my DD06, Secunda (aka Seccy) put together! Sadly the magic eraser didn't do as much as I hoped (helped a bit but not a ton), so she's still got her staining, plus the blushing...anyone know a good way to get rid of blushing that was done on an unsealed body??

 

Hikari-chan, you can try a magic eraser. If that doesnt work, you can use remove-zit, which is made specifically for cleaning vinyl that has been stained by fabric (dye).

I was hoping to putting together my DD, but that did not go as plan, so I have to wait some at least until this sinus infection is gone before I do any painting and seal spraying. I do love looking at this wonderful thread and previous threads too on how I should paint her. Just waiting for the body suit to arrive now....soon I will put my precious together and plot to rule the world

Hakari-chan, your Seccy is SO cute! I have the same problem you do, I own a DD WS body that was blushed, but luckily it was done well and isn't blotchy or obvious. Still, I would prefer if she wasn't blushed at all. :-/ Stains can be removed using benzoyl peroxide, there are some instructions in this thread. It also helps to set the doll in the sun with the benzoyl peroxide on, it helps the stain fade faster. I haven't done it myself yet, because I can't find my hair dryer to warm the vinyl parts so I can disassemble her. Along with the blushing, she has a huge red blotch on one shoulder blade.

In my (very limited) experience, blushing soaks through even sealed with Mr. Super clear. I wonder what the effects of Oxy clean are... anyone know?
