Volks "Dollfie Dream Gathering 2008" Discussion

I really love that long high pony tail wig, its beautiful. I think my fiance will like Aili, especially as shes in a maid style dress, I love Maya though, her expression looks so thoughtful.

 

Some of those outfits are really nice.. Itching to get my hands on one or two

 

I like the white dress but it's not my girl's style, very pretty though.

Will any of these wigs come in different colours? If the Sporty Tail comes in blonde I have to get it for my Mirai.

I love Maya... but I bet that outfit is going to stain her faster than you can say Dolfie Dream... and from having a Candy before... you have to work a lot to get those black stains out

I agree with that. I love the dollfie dreams but I don't like character dolls, I like to make my own characters.

 

Maybe the outfits will be lined with white fabric to reduce possible staining. If they aren't then they really should be XD

Agreed... the heads they do offer are not as mature (I guess is the word i'm looking for), they are too rounded and I really adore the more angled and mature faces (if that's the right term).

 

Considering that 2 out of the 3 separate heads they offer are now also offered as 'complete dolls' already with face up too, I really think we should get some new option heads.

 

Actually aquila I had more stains on the legs with the stockings.

That sporty tail wig would be just perfect for Meg. She's normally a redhead so it's even her color!

I really want the black outfit with the long pigtails...but the DD outfits cost an arm and leg.
Volks sells body stockings for DD's (20 bucks I think). I bought one 2 months ago because my girl had some purple stains on her back from an outfit I made for her.

My solution : buy the doll, sell the outfit... (or keep it for special occasion... )

 

DD Shino's outfit was not lined... Volks offer "Body stocking" for staining prevetion.. but yeah.. that doesn't work as well as it sounds
they SHOULD be lined...

Oh man, Airi is awesome! I wonder if they'll do other Queen's Blade characters? I would love an Echidna doll. It's about time they released a tan DD to fill that niche for all us erogamers out there.

 

Actually Volks already made a sunlight skin dollfe dream. She is also one of the Lost Angels Story.

The DD wigs are so kawaii. And Aili's wig is awesome... its a shame she's $630 and I'm saving for stoormtrooper armor and a lightsaber or she'ed so be mine >.<

Does anyone know if the two limited DDs will be available to purchase on the international site or on VolksUSA? I really love Aili(Airi)! I wish I could just buy her though and sell the extras. Man, I'd be happy with just her head. She's just that cute!

Well, the romanization "Airi" would be consistent with existing Queen's Blade merchandise. (I followed the series on my own beforehand with my non-doll hobby.)

Honestly, I'm kind of surprised Volks did both a Dollfie and a Dollfie Dream version of her. Though now that I think about it, she's one of the few Queen's Blade characters that have a work-safe default costume. Nanael (the angel), Tomoe (the miko), Yumil (the dwarf) and maybe Nyx (the sorceress) would be the few other work-safe characters. There are 18 candidates in the Queen's Blade tournament, more of you count the Queen's Gate (4) and Rebellion spinoffs (1+4 future). Most are not really that work-safe/have costumes that could exist in real life.

If/when I fail my lottery bid for Iris & Johanna, perhaps I will pick up Airi. She has a weapon.

Volks USA has finally gotten the dollfie dream gathering 2008 items, they go up for sale on the 27th but im a bit confused, the limited wigs seem to have been available already... were they put up for sale already on the USA site? did i miss their sale date?

 

I believe the sporty tail is new, but magical tail was released last year. It's a reprint.

 

I think the "add to shopping carts" buttons are up and ready, but the items are not available yet and will be on the 27th only.

 

Yay i was finally able to get the magical tail wig, i was pretty bummed out last year when i missed it. I hope there was a better stock of them this year..

 

Wow, this totally caught me off guard. The sale was not supposed to start for another hour and couple minutes..., but all the wigs are already on sale >_<
I just rushed and got one of each wigs in case they don't restock them when the other items go on sale. I'll have to pay twice the shipping... cuz I also want an outfit...

There's only one of each wig left except the wine brown ponytail is gone, and they have a whole bunch of Shino's wig (7) for some reason.

 

I hope to get an outfit in a few minutes. Let's see if I will or not. =X

What I hate is when it sells out from Volks Japan and then people jack the price waaaaaaay up later So glad they offered it on the US site too

 

I got really scared when I saw that the items went on sale early. But luckily I managed to get the lavender Magical Tail wig. Phew. *winces at $9 shipping for the tiny wig* Oh well, I had to get it because it's perfect for a Rabi-en-Rose cosplay!

 

ARRGH that shit sold out in a second!! I had the ponytail wig in natural and the magical tail in natural gold, but when I got to the last step of the checkout, they were gone. Then I went back and was able to get the magical tail in purple, but it was my second choice. :/

I keep clicking the "add to cart button" for the ponytail wigs, but alas; it is in vain. ;_;

 

So far, all the wigs and a couple of the outfits are sold out. Only things left are those bunny hoodies and SD16 hoodie set. I didn't checked everything else besides those yet.

EDIT: Headbands, DD & SD clothes, shoes (All except the SD16 gold pumps) and Chibi sets are still available.

 

People not in the mood to spend after Christmas maybe? =/
