50–65cm Dolls Volks Dollfie dream 01 Mirai

Jun 11, 2022

    1. I came across this girl right here in DoA in the market place and immediately wanted to buy her. The seller was kind enough to let me do a short layaway so I paid her off and here she is! This doll holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I remember when the dollfie dream II body came out a lot of these 01 bodies flooded the market as people upgraded their dollfie dreams to the more poseable and aesthetically pleasing II body and face. Many of the first dlfue dreams were heavily modified/stained/or damaged when they went for really low prices on the second hand market. This gal is in honestly excellent shape with only a minor stain on one hand! For a doll produced in 2003 this feels like a miracle :)

The box says "cyber hybrid body" which I'm pretty sure modern dollfie dream boxes do not lol

And here she is. I find her face actually kind of charming. It has that 90s anime "we aren't sure how to sculpt this style in 3d" feel

Its so strange to have a dollfie dream strung with elastic! She's not a great poser but it isn't as bad as I remember people saying it was. Being strung also gives you some neat possibilities with trying different heads on the body. I ended up putting my parabox p chan head on it for now. Also

The alternate hands she comes with are incredible. Look at these slender man grippers! This is what peak anime aesthetic looks like lol

    2. Awww, what a sweet girl! I don't know much about vinyls at all but I've always been curious about the original DD bodies, thanks for giving us a look at what her stringing is like! That little donut piece in her torso is interesting. Congrats on giving her a good home! <3

    3. Congrats on your new doll arrival. I still own my DDI, and I always thought that body was more aesthetically pleasing than the later versions (I mostly didn't like the soft vinyl replacing the hard plastics).

I also never thought this body was a bad poser, but maybe that was me being used to light weight dolls. This body was my intro, to large doll and "BJD," back in the day. Thanks for sharing, this was definitely a trip down nostalgia lane. (:

    5. This is so cool!! I had no idea the first dollfies were strung together, and what an interesting face! Thank you so much for sharing!

    6. What a lovely piece of dolly history!

Thank you for sharing her inside (I've always been super curious about the first gen strung DDs) and congratulations on your cute new girl!
Her face has that old school charm :whee:
Would love to see how you style her~

    7. Congrats on such a neat arrival! The DDI is such a neat little piece of doll history.
They actually do! All standard models up to the DD-f3 versions (when they changed to the white box) say Cyber-Age Hybrid Body, as well as limiteds that had the yellow/pink "crop circle" boxes. Dream Choice does not. :3nodding: I believe D'Coord (the ones at Doll Point, not online store) still uses the yellow boxes, which still have that phrase. It definitely applies more to DDI in my opinion though. :XD:
