Vings Doll Discussion

Vings has opened a new preorder, from now to 8th July.

Their Taobao store is updated and everything looks live. No news posted on their IG account yet, and I haven't checked on their previous dealers like Stacy. Update: New Clover-Singing has listed only the 68plus body for sale.

Heads available are Reiki, Seira , and two anime-type heads, AN-01 and AN-07.

Bodies available are 68cm ver.1, 68PLUS (a wider shoulder version of 68cm ver.1 and ver.2), and 70cm.

68cm ver.2 is not currently available, but will be open for preorder later in the year.

Mhhh. I'm not so sure about the 68PLUS body. I adore the slim figure of 68cm ver.2, and I think the wider shoulders are just a bit too wide for me. I'll have to do some careful comparisons and mull over this for a few days.

I think I'll still buy Seira in this preorder. He's turned into grail levels of important to me. Vings seems unlikely to discontinue him, but having narrowly missed the previous preorder, I'm incredibly anxious to not leave things to chance again. I might be more prepared to wait for the 68cm ver.2 body if I can at least secure Seira's head.

Update (17 June):
I bought Seira's head direct off Taobao. The purchase appeared on my financial statement, and Vings confirmed the order. I got my grail doll - I am SO relieved.
Vings estimated shipping in October - so 4 months production time.

I'm going to wait for the 68ver2 body. In the meantime I might be able to find it secondhand - I'm sure people will be upgrading to 68plus and selling older bodies on Xianyu and elsewhere.

Hi! I'm trying to find information if Vings jointed hands may fit to not Vings body ^^ Does anyone owns jointed vings hands can help me to measure its length (general and the middle finger) and width? And by chance maybe someone try it put it on dollstown17 male body

 

I took some photos next to a measuring tape and on my Dollstown 18 body (not 17, I only have 18). I honestly thought the hands would be too small on Dollstown 18, but it works much better than I expected! Even the default wrist hooks are compatible with the Vings hands.

WOW! Thank you so much, it is super helpful! Does you hands in white^^? Color vary from photo to photo, but hands looks white/pale to me! Based on the color pallet there isn't white that is close the dollshe/dt pale

 

The hands I have are in Illusion Garden Lace White! It's a pink-tone white!

OMG the face and hair are PERFECT!! where did you get these? Did you style the hair yourself? (I'm terrible at hair - first time I tried trimming the mesh I cut a chunk off!!)

Thank you! I purchased the wig second hand and it was pre-styled. The wig maker's name is totally escaping me just this second, but if it pops into my head I'll come back and say it. They make gorgeous styled wigs.

I have cut and styled a wig for Victor too, but that one is on my more realistic version Victor. Hehe

 

Hello! Who here is getting the 68cm ver.2 body now that it's back again? I've been waiting for a rerelease so I'm definitely grabbing it this time! I'll be getting it in DFH tan to shell a character of mine!

 

I am. I ordered it about a week ago - for Vings Seira, whose head I got in the last preorder in June. I wanted to buy Seira as a whole doll, but 68cm ver.2 wasn't available in June and I was very anxious to get his sculpt (in fact I narrowly missed buying this doll in the Nov 2022 preorder which caused me a lot of angst), so I got his head first and now I'm getting his body. Also getting jointed hands and heeled feet.

Here's hoping that this preorder will be as speedy as the June one, and I can complete Seira soon.

I also understand this is the last preorder where Vings will be offering their current very large range of resin matching. Next preorder will have a more limited range, I don't think Vings has said what colours will be available.

 

I'm waiting for the customs to release my 68 plus body. Can't wait to check it out! I have two heads that I plan to use with the body - I wonder if any of them will fit I regretted not being able to use my 68 v2 body due to huge color mismatch. I hope the new body will stay with either of the heads I love Vings bodies and I could have an entire collection of them

 

Seira arrived. Since no one seems to have this boy (I can find neither hide nor hair of him on DoA, Instagram, or Weibo), I thought I'd share pics of the blank sculpt:



I haven't measured Seira's head yet, but it's small enough to fit a roomy 7-8" wig (this is a Switch wig). Left pic is him in 14/5mm eyes, right in 17/7mm eyes. I'm quite amazed he looks good in both iris sizes, they give him different moods.



So glad I finally have Seira - I've been wanting him since I first laid eyes on him almost a year ago. Can't wait to paint his faceup, and then get his body and complete the doll.

I painted Gael Seraph's (Seira's) faceup a few days ago. This sculpt is so wonderful, I'm very glad I got him and can't believe he's not more well known!

Wearing 14/5mm eyes from Soul in a Box, and a 7-8" wig from Switch. Yes, his head is small enough to fit into a stretchy 7-8".
He's borrowing another doll's body for these pictures. I can't wait for his own body to be finished...

I'm having a wonderful time with Gael - he's rapidly become one of my most-photographed dolls. So beautiful, and Vings68v.2 poses splendidly in flat feet and in heels. I'm so glad I have him.

Gael is wonderful! A t least I can break your double post string! I do have a Vings body. I bought it for a floating head. I wasn’t sure I like the skin match but I need to put the head on the body and see how it looks.

I've been eyeing your beautiful dolls for some time now, they are so lovely!

It's this particular guy who helped me make up my mind and order a vings body, 1/4 though. Hope the little one poses that great, too. Guess, I'll get to know this in summer or early fall since the pre-order has just opened.

 

Stacy's Pink Ocean had an earlier order. My 47cm body arrived yesterday!

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca I'm sure you're talking about the 1st pre-order that took place in February, and on March 28 the 2nd one started at their TaoBao shop and Clover
Anyway, congratulations on the arrival! Will you share pictures and some opinion on the 47body? It'd be amazing to see "home pictures"!

 

@Cloudedmind That photo of Heddwyn inspired me to try things with Gael ^^ This body is very stable, once it gets into pose it's pretty good at holding it.

@nancy_schroeder_ca Do report back on how your hybriding with 68 and 47 go!

@Letta Thank you! I'm glad people are enjoying my dolls including Gael I'm quite sure Vings didn't alter anything when they shrunk the body from 68cm to 47cm, so the smaller version should pose similarly.

Vings premiered Vings47 in October last year and held a small preorder for it. It was only advertised on Weibo and I don't think much word got out onto EN-speaking social media, but Stacy's Pink Ocean must've made it available. That preorder has already shipped out, so I'm guessing it was the one that @nancy_schroeder_ca was part of.

And yes - Vings currently has a preorder open for 68v1.0, 68v2.0, 70, and 47 (mature 1/4) bodies, which will close in mid April. It's a good time to order.

For what it's worth, this is their Weibo account (for updates and news), and this is their Taobao store (to order the body direct / through a shopping service). However, I do not recommend buying these bodies secondhand off Xianyu because they are being recast and sold there.

 

Just me again, playing with Gael. Still love him heaps. I saw this video of Amicus Dolls' latest 1/4 girl, and thought that Gael may be able to do the same pose. He gets reasonably close. I continue to be impressed at how stable and versatile the Vings68v.2 body is at posing.

Does anyone happen to own both a Vings Reiki and... a Dollstown 15yo body? Or a Switch head? I'm trying to get a better idea of the head proportions and can't find a lot of pictures online

 

The boy from my icon is a hybrid with the Vings 68cm v.2 body!
I can only echo was other people said before, when it comes to posing and also the sculpting, I love that body.
I don't have any super impressive posing showcases at hand, but hey, this is still a pose not every doll can hold well naturally.

 

May I ask where you bought the Vings 68 body? I really want one, but I’m not sure what websites to trust.

 

I have gotten three Vings bodies from Stacy's Pink Ocean.

 

Just curious for colors of Vings WS bodies... Would anyone know if fits dearmine WS?
