Hi everyone! I noticed a lot of people discovered bjds through the game Nameless: the one thing you must recall. I did too myself lol I was wondering if you play video games, which ones do you enjoy? I love pokemon, fire emblem, genshin impact and just horror games in general! I have a ton of other games I enjoy but the list would just be too long! lol
Most recently I’ve been playing Monster Hunter (alternating between World and Rise) and Splatoon 3. I’m also trying to replay Breath of the Wild before the sequel comes out next spring
I have played Monster Hunter Rise but I'd love to try out World! Unfortunately I don't have a play station or a strong enough pc to run the game D: I've heard great things about Splatoon but I've yet to try any of the games!
I've actually never heard of Nameless, though I'm a bit interested now that I've looked it up A BJD company collaborating directly with a game in that way is interesting. Normally you'd just see dolls made in the image of game characters afterwards. As for games I play, mostly Final Fantasy XIV for the past several years. I also like some gachas, like Azur Lane, Girls Frontline, F/GO, Arknights, FFBE War of the Visions, Octopath CoTC... though admittedly Genshin doesn't fall among them as I'm not fond of Mihoyo. I also liked Tomb Raider a lot growing up, so I'm generally fond of Square Enix titles, including many FF games, NieR, etc.
When Nameless was first released, Crobidoll actually had an event and sold limited sculpts of the dolls in game! I always wanted to try Nier and now that the games had may their way to the switch, I'll have to pick up a copy!
I've been playing a lot of The Sims 2 (which is almost 20 years old at this point haha). I grew up with it, and it's still my favorite of the entire series. I'm super pumped for the new Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon remake of A Wonderful Life that's coming out soon too!
I had no idea there's a Wonderful life remake coming out! I played Harvest Moon so much on the ds when I was younger so it'll be so nostalgic to come back it!
It's one of my favorite series for sure! I also played a lot of HM DS back in the day. I loved that I could sync up my game with my Mineral Town GBA friends. I miss that kind of thing.
I'm an old fart, so I have been playing games since the beginning of time. I play any and most Japanese developed video games and nothing else. My favorite genre is survival horror, but that's slowly dying genre, so not a lot there that's new or isn't Resident Evil. Most survival horror games I enjoyed in my youth are probably museum pieces now (or cost as much as an arm or a leg second market, I haven't looked since I don't sell my games, I own all the ones I've played). I would have to say Silent Hill is my favorite survival horror series, although Leon S. Kennedy is one of my top favorite characters of all time, I find SH a lot more atmospheric and actually creepy, on the other hand, (even if not all that scary either). As someone who grew up from when I could barely speak, watching horror films, RE is not what I would consider scary. Not even the earlier games, they were survival, but not really scary (to me). I also love JRPGs, so Final Fantasy is one of my favorite series (VII being my ultimate all-time favorite game ever, Sephiroth my favorite character of all time!). I also enjoy The Legend of Zelda series, Drakengard/Nier series, Kingdom Hearts series, Tales series, Souls/Bloodborne series, Castlevania (except for what was developed by the European outsourced team) and DMC (except for what was developed by non-Japanese studios and DMC5). Metal Gear series is also another of my favorites, although the "newer" stuff wasn't my favorite (after MGR, I did play them but didn't really enjoy them as much as the previous stuff or even Rising, although not exactly stealth like the earlier games, it was still a lot of fun and I love Raiden!). There's probably a lot that I'm forgetting, but if it's developed by a Japanese studio, I'll most likely play it and enjoy it. I guess it would just be easier to list what I don't like/play, which is not as extensive. I mostly don't like multiplayer, and/or mobile games although I have tried them, I can't seem to get into them. I also don't play Otome, dating, romance, sexual, etc. games (or any other type of entertainment) of any sort, as those types of themes are not anywhere near any of my personal interests whatsoever (IRL, let alone to waste my "spare" time on those).
I haven't thought about it but I guess pretty recently there hasn't been much new titles emerging in the survival horror genre unless it's a bad steam game lol I've always wanted to play Bloodborne! The game is beautiful and it has an interesting story but unfortunately I don't have a system that's compatible with it D: Maybe one day! Also I get not liking multiplayer games. For me personally, I tend to get stressed easily when playing with other people lol
I love RPGs. I'm currently trying to play too many games at once, Stray, Morrowind, The Sims 4 and Spelunky 2. I also loved Skyrim, The Witcher 3, Fran Bow the Mass Effect games and lots more I can't think of right now.
I've been playing video games since the 80s, so they're definitely an intrinsic part of my life. Classic Blizzard (before they were bought by activision) and Bioware (were)are my favorite gaming companies, and there was a time I waited excitedly for any new game news from them. The Dragon Age series is my absolutely favorite, with DA2 and Fenfen being the top there. I have seen the studio go downhill since being acquired by EA, so I'm....not as excited about Dread Wolf as I once would have been. Unfortunately Blizz has lost all of my loyalty and I will never buy another game from them again unless something drastically changes with the entire studio. As can be expected by a long time Blizz fan, I played WoW for ohhhhh 14/15 years. And STO and SWTOR and a dozen other MMOs. I still fiddle around on GW2 with my best friend every now and again. I have a standing "night with the boys" where I go online with some friends who live outside the country and play Monster Hunter World together, that's a blast. I also love little random Switch games like Unpacking and Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. Right now I'm playing Ooblets on the Switch, and loving it! I also love watching my partner play video games, right now he's finishing the first Trails of Cold Steel game and we're excited to see how it ends.
I enjoy RPGs, especially ones where you can create your own character. The Elder Scrolls (especially Morrowind), Dragon Age, Mass Effect...I have way too many games/characters on those lol. Even made one of my Elder Scrolls characters a BJD. c: The Witcher is also a fave, as are Assassin's Creed (I don't care for the modern day bits though lmao), Halo, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and various others. I prefer solo games to multiplayer, unless it's on the couch in the same room co-op lol. If mobile/phone games count, my main ones right now are The Legend of the Phoenix, Love Nikki, and Lords Mobile...which goes against my solo gaming preference, but they're still fun.
Another old fart here who’s been playing video games for decades, hell I remember when ‘Pong’ one of the first ever video games was released! Currently I’m back playing FFXIV (Final Fantasy 14 online) after taking a break from it. Been playing that since they released A Realm Reborn as hubby and I used to also play FFXI online too. During the break we played ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) which we liked but it just didn’t have that extra special something FFXIV seems to have for us. I also play Farming Simulator 19, Surviving Mars, Solaris, some fishing game who’s name I can’t remember, City building sims, have Animal Crossing on my Switch handheld but not played it for a while. I love games like Harvest Moon, enjoy the Dragon Age series, loved Skyrim, adored Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicles and Rogue Galaxy, loved the Fable games. I refuse to give up my PS one (yes they’re really old) copies of ‘Skull Monkeys’ and ‘Fluid’ even though they’re probably useless.
One more old fart joining the discussion. My all-time favourite game is Final Fantasy VII. It was the first game I ever beat back in the day and I still love it, Remake included. I've also played other FF games, VIII, X, and XII and Dirge of Cerebus. Way back in the past I played Devil May Cry, Zelda, Castlevania, Tomb Raider, Elder Scrolls, Skyrim, and a heap more. Hanging out for the next installment of FFVII and wondering what to play meantime - might try to get back into Skyrim or Elder Scrolls.
I play Sims 3 avidly. I would still play Sims 2, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with my new computer. i tried Sims 4 and hated it. I began playing The Sims the first week it was released back in 1999. I had heard of it back in December of 1998, and downloaded a little desk demo to play until the game came out. My niece, who was 6 at the time, introduced it to me because her teacher had said she thought it would be a good tool for teaching life skills to the kids. Anyway, my niece was living with me at the time, and so we played many long hours of The Sims. I have a very vivid memory of the first moments I played. I had not done the tutorial, and so the first thing that happened was that I did not install a smoke alarm in the Goth family's kitchen. I told Mortimer to cook, the stove caught fire and before I could stop it, the whole house caught fire and the entire family burned to death. Fortunately we exited the game without saving and were able to start over. Lesson learned: never assume you are too smart to play the tutorial. :lol It is hard to believe that I have been playing the Sims games for 23 years. My niece is 30 now and she stopped playing Sims when she turned 12, but her auntie never stopped. I also played Final Fantasy 12 for a while. And I'm very interested in the world and characters of FFVII, but never actually played. I fell in love with that world when I saw the FFVII CGI film Advent Children. I have a crush on Reno, even though if he were a real person I am old enough to be his grandmother. On my phone I play Angry Birds Journey, Township and assorted versions of solitaire. On the PC I also play Tribez.
I'm a fan of the three Fs, farming, fishing, and fighting my way through dungeons, but I also like the occasional 4-x/civ game. I'd say Fire Emblem and Rune Factory are my two main game series. I'm also really enjoying Coral Island at the moment and waiting on the puffpals game. I haven't played a fighting game in a long time but I used to love Darkstalkers, Marvel vs Capcom, Soul Calibur, and Guilty Gear. For more casual gaming, I'm having fun with Dreamlight Valley and the Stranger Things match-3 mobile game.
Yet another old fart here. I currently play Elder Scrolls Online (pc) very heavily (daily and usually for several hours at a time) and Final Fantasy: Brave Exuvius (mobile).
I am a huge Fallout fan, my favorite Fallout game is probably Fallout 2. I also love Resident Evil, Dragon Age and Final Fantasy (VII, XV). I don’t play video games as much as I used to, but slowly I am making a bit more time to replay some of my favorites. Sims 2 is my favorite Sims game, I could definitely play that one for hours still. I also liked the DS version of it.
Right now I've been playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I would like to continue playing Death Stranding but I don't have the motivation for it right now. My most favorite games have been Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, LoZ: Wind Waker, Animal Crossing, Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil 4, and Fallot: New Vegas.
