Her wings are permanently attached (since they're strung together so they can pose better) but I work with my talented seamstress to make sure that dressing her with wings is easier

I have 2 skin tones X3 I have Pure white (the whitest you can get ) and a light skin tone. I will start playing with fantasy colors soon as well! ^_^

The main reason I got into doll making was the idea that so many people can take a blank doll, and create so much life into them! They have personalities, lives, loves, I just love it! I wanted to give people a canvas for their creativity.

Im happy everyone loves her toes!! I'm thinking about making a 'sock' version of her feet, so that way they can fit into shoes (Im pretty sure that one long toe will be a hassle) and no one has to feel bad for covering them!

 

Fantasy colors would be pretty! She'd be really nice in light green. I'd also love to see her in dark tan, though I know that's a big pain to cast. She has such a cute little body--I really like the corset costume.
Are the other dolls going to have the same body, but with a different head and wings? And are they all going to be elementals? I cannot afford her right now, though $450 is very very reasonable for an artist-cast doll, I must say. But some day.

 

Then its a must I get to play with different colors! I was also thinking of adding shimmer to her...

Yes, they will all have the same body type That way its easier to change out parts for the Create Your Own section :3 And yes! All elementals ^_^ But after that there will be different themes and even non-themed faeries

^_^ I didn't want to make a doll that just looked like a human with butterfly wings, so I gave her proportions that seemed a bit off, but worked at made her look other-worldly Im glad you like her! ^__^

 

i think Renaissance type sandals would be nice shoes on this little fae! Allowing for the extra stability that shoes bring, while still showing off her awesome feets! (very plain but suitable example: http://www.wulflund.com/images_items/ancient-sandals_2.jpg)

 

Skye: The Fire Fae's big toe is separated from the rest, so those feet can wear other sandals as well!

 

Anneke: ^_^ I will try to get a better shot today, The white is paper uber white lol, and the light skin tone is a very soft skin tone color.

 

OMG they're so itty bitty-CUTE! But I understand what I need to do now ^^ (I'm a sculptor darnit not a photographer! lolz)

I first started making them because I wanted a faerie doll that actually looked like one (I always complain about a human looking doll with butterfly wings..... X3) But my husband was looking at it when I was sculpting her and mentioned how I should put it out there for other people to enjoy too (I had thought about it but didn't think others would like her....) After the Fresno Doll Convention I was confident enough to know that other people would love her as well so here she is!! and her sister is coming along soon as well (her 3rd and 4rth will take a lil more time)

 

When I was designing her I looked around a bunch of doll sites...and was literally stunned with I didn't see resin wings! (That came with the doll) Not even on Sooms! (until now X3) But I know what you mean, I started to also x_x

^_^ I have several sketches for her brothers, they'll look manlier then a lot of dolls, but still have that grace a faerie would? Its hard to explain (and put on paper x_x) But I'm going to try to make it so parts can still change between both genders (hands will be a little harder methinks, because of the wrist, but I know some people prefer more feminin hands on men then masculine?) ..........Im rambling aren't I lol

 

hehe, now I dont feel so bad lol! I just don't want to tell a future plan that someone is uber excited about, then have to tell them its gonna be awhile (cus I know how that feels lol)

It will be a little more difficult on my part but once I get fantasy resins out you can still order other styles of hands or feet or ears, etc. in that fantasy color. They won't match exactly if you order them at different times, but its better then having a purple doll with white hands lol.

I'm also planning on different busts later on

Hooves, anyone? (With a really uberly cute fawn like face in the fullset and moth wings!!! <--my personal fave X3)

I'm also open to any ideas, like colors or hand positions, or even particular ear styles as well. I have about 30 of each planned out already (half in the making) so they might even show up before you ask XD I just want people to be able to create that one faerie that fits their needs

 

I don't have a job outside of this, and since I'm the owner I have as much time as I need to make tons of things ^_^ hehe

I would really love to make one! Peapod Dolls made the best one I've ever seen, but I was thinking of also making mine customizable, like different fins, and even one that looks like a seahorse tail :3
I was thinking for an anniversary or something, I will re-release elementals, but they would be God elementals (Water-Undine with mermaid tail, Fire-Pheonix with Featherl wings *cus I can't do anything with Salamanders lol*, Earth-Ent *, Air- Sylph *not sure what yet*) I'm still playing with the idea though ^^;

Stella: Her regular ears are magnetic, so you can take them off and put on different shaped ears (Like the next one I'm releasing is more elf like and not faerie, and you can change between them )

I instantly related since My Resin family are all Cymry with Welsh Fae backgrounds. Gods know how that happened, but hey! it works for us. I knew what you meant with butterfly dolls and my mind just clicked. When I saw your Odette I instantly knew: SHE'S GOT IT! haha A bit Seelie Court, a Bit Faire Elfland, a touch of magic, whimsy and just in pinch of Victoriana (no pun intended).

And my love of things Celtic, Cymry and fae just leapt out. Gomen. hahaha

 

Thank you! Yes, I actually want to be able to release them in all colors I come out with (So if you get a purple or green you can still get different hands or ears for them) It'll be a bit harder to match the colors precisely but if you order them at the same time there shouldn't be a problem

The Teg line is going to have a bunch of different hands feet and ears (including human) that you can get in the Enhancements section Each one will have their own set, but if you have one doll you can buy the other doll's set (If you buy the wings they come with their own torso if specified)

I do too! Oh, I just have her corset color changed so it matches more with the rest of the outfit (Its a powder blue instead of a cyan blue) Gwendolyn will also have a corset though

THeMonkeyThatSees..........Are you going to be making fantasy wear with a hint of Victorian in designs? I sew for Jpopdolls in a tiny scale with antique pieces of material from strong clothing pieces. I can't wait to see yours!!!

I love Victorian/turn-o-the-century design and will for sure be making some things along those lines, and defiantly some ideas that will have less obvious influences of those eras.

One design in particular would be a "Victorian Winter" costume..Meaning a winter season Victorian outfit..But that would be a bit more than a hint of Victorian now wouldn't it? :-D

I really wanna do a regency era dress...Think Jane Austin. >.O

Some limited some not. It depends on the style. I was thinking I may sell X number of the item as one price range and after that not keep it in stock and charge a small re-stocking fee. It depends on how board I get with the design...hehe
I don't wanna get stuck with the same old designs, I like lots of variety.
I also do Minifee clothing, and if I manage to order Iplehouse Benny, I'll be able to do JID clothing as well.

I am so very excited about the new photos! I am going to be moving soon and my rent is going to literally triple. I'm thinking I need to buy Odette ASAP now, since I can afford it, rather than when I live in poverty due to the almighty rent next month!

 

I've never seen French resin, scary! I was thinking of the transparent parts on Domuya's Drui. You can see her elastic through her legs and it looks 'unfinished' to me. If this was used intentionally to make a "bone doll" that might be cool, but to creepy for me personally.

I was thinking about the bottom part of Soom Amber's hooves which look like shiny clouds. It is swirly enough that nothing shows through but clear enough that it looks like clouds trapped in glass (weird description).

For me, pretty much any fancy colored resin is beautiful, but what really sells it is when it is either transparent/pearly or regular colored resin with shimmery sparkles (some of Souldoll's fantasy colors look like they shimmer but that might be the blushing, I think other companies have found a way to get the shimmer into the resin itself?).

I was watching Disney's Fantasia today and thinking, "why don't more companies make dolls that looks like the fairys from this movie, they are soo soo pretty." I can't wait till you have some colored fairies Victorianwinter! I am going to put a little flippy wig on her and a garland of flowers for clothes and that's it. It'll be perfect

I was thinking about getting them since they sell them separately and make my own Snow Queen sort of doll, but ultimately decided against it because I don't have any dolls those parts would fit lol! It's a nice combination of colored/clear/blushed resin though. Very attractively done, imho.

 

I was thinking about getting Angleheim Luka the pan, but now I'm holding off to see if a V.W. boy will apeer..and also to let my bank car recover a little...>.<

 

Please tell me that you'll grace us with progress pics! I love seeing progression for the sculpts, and it'll help remind me of what I want to save up for.

I've seen the French resin effect in Limwha's dolls. Very different that regular bjd resins i thought. A tad romantic looking but in the Faery context it would add a shimmer that would be ... pardon the pun, magical.

 

The more magical the better I think. If I wanted to see a normal human (or normal human doll) all I have to do is look around. It takes real skill to create something both otherworldly and beautiful. That is why I am so excited about VictorianWinter's new line. Bring on the sparkle/shimmer/colored resin amazingness!

I played a bit with clear parts: Clear Hand
(That is Gwendolyns hand, Sneak Peak! Please don't mind the messy resin around it, I was in a hurry when I poured and that was RIGHT out of the mold)
The only problem I have is bubbles in the clear resin. Its thicker then the opaque resin I use, so all the bubbles dont always get out.
Do a lot of people mind bubbles in the resin? I know it gives away the effect though...

 

Oooo... I love the look of the hand. For me personally, I kind of like the bubbles in clear resin (makes it look like bubbles trapped under ice). Very exciting

I think bubbles could work, but only if you made it part of the sculpts design. There are some pretty glass sculptures that really exaggerate bubbles within the pieces, so that they truly look like frothy swirly water or something. A few single bubbles, while your fans would probably love it, might only look like a mistake to a potential customer What do you use as an agitator to get the bubbles out? Maybe you need something a little stronger for the clear resin pieces.

 

The bubbles in clear parts don't bother me at all! I think the hand looks lovely!

 

OMG OMG!! New Odette pictures!!! Thank you for updating those! And HOLY CRAP the eyes! I didn't realize what they were! OOohh!! MAN! They are so amazing! ARG!!! This still doesn't make it easier to decide which skintone to get... A little voice inside me said "get both!" and my wallet says "darn you Victorianwinter!"

The "clear" hand looks very translucent; can't see to call it "clear" as in transparent but more a clear filmy look - to my old eyes. (Not citting it either, just saying my opin.)

I actually still want more pictures of the "light skin" doll. I love the blue blushing on the white skin version, but for some reason that soft light skin is really calling to me. I'd love to see her in her outfit too... I will keep on waiting for more pictures Patient as a mountain stone, I am!
