Sewing Victorian Suitcoat Pattern for a Yo-Sd

Dec 29, 2012

    1. Hi I am looking to make my Doll Leaves Kiki a victorian suit coat but I can't find any patterns in his size. It doesn't have to be exact to what Blood's wearing, just something like it with tails. Anyone know of any or can they explain how to shrink a MSD one or something like that.

    2. I'm not certain how the doll leaves Yo-Sd compares with an LTF, but in addition to the measurements posted on the Fairyland site, I needed these:

If you follow this link it will take you to a file that is a file with a 1cm grid on it. You can download that file, bring it up on any art program that handles layers (lots of free ones online) then you can take any pattern and resize the pieces according to the measurements and using that grid, then just print out at 100% and you'll have your pattern.

I'd start the resize with an absolute...an underarm seam for the sleeve, an inseam for the pants...proportionately resize the pattern piece, then see if you need to adjust the width by seeing how wide the waist, for instance, is according to the grid. Hope this helps!

    3. Wow thanks, not sure if I'm at the level where I can resize my own patterns like that though. Kinda still a beginner.
