I'm looking for 9-10" blonde wigs in a Victorian style -- hair up, braids, loose curls, that sort of vibe. When I search for braided wigs I mostly get modern fashion doll style (Like Popovy). I know they have to be out there! Where are they hiding?
Migidoll is a great place for these kinds of wigs! Just on the front page, I can see a few you might be interested in. Migidoll But you also have to make sure that the wig you want is in stock! They often run preorders.
When I want a specific look, I used to take plain long haired wigs and style them myself into the desired look. These days i make my own.
Yes, the Royal Princess one is close! But this is the other issue I run into --- it doesn't look like it's available to buy on its own? It looks like I'd have to buy at least the head to get the wig? Or am I reading this wrong? I... attempted this and it did not go well ;;;; I do have two long blond wigs I could attempt this with, but I've never been very good at braiding to begin with
Oh, really? Weird. These wigs are all able to be purchased separately. Maybe someone with more experience can explain it better. Migidoll
I would check ebay were I you. They usually have a lot of wigs, new and used, for other sorts of dolls with Victorian styling. Some of them are Monique.
Monique, global, and antina brands might be good search terms on eBay. I know there are some on factory direct craft (in 8/9) I was considering. I'm going to have to look at migidoll now. I want a cute updo someday so so badly. I really feel you on not styling it yourself. I think it's wonderful that some people know how... I have never had/been skilled with long hair and have no idea how to do real hairstyles and updos myself I can cut and straighten and badly curl things and that's about it. Good luck! I hope you find the perfect hairstyle!
This is a very popular style for porcelain dolls (lots of them are from that era!), so I would recommend taking a look at some more traditional doll shops. Dollspart comes to mind: https://dollspart.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=95&zenid=nn5vvp9cub0kv2ijaa2to0fgm7
Good hunting, I've found a few (old now) wigs marketed for porcelain dolls. Ones like this old Monique wig do crop up Centre part, small curls around the hairline, beraidced around the crown and a few loose hanging long curls at the back. Although up-do styles are particularly hard to find that don't have very obvious hairlines around the wig, Teddy
