USA Vermont Meetup (Next one: February 28th)

    1. Next meet: February 28th (we meet the last Saturday of every month)
      Location: Brownell library in Essex Junction
      Time: 12:30 - 2:30
      Theme: (Belated) Valentine's Day!

      We'll be in the Kolvoord room. You can find it either by going into the front entrance of the library and going to your left, or going through the back entrance and we're on the right as soon as you walk through the first door.

    2. I'm going to be meeting up with some friends next month in Burlington for the week and weekend of the Renaissance Faire on June 21st & 22nd, if you can find more people maybe we can all have a meetup there or the week leading up! (ill be there on the 15th as well) Would you be ok with me checking interest for the area in a BJD server on Discord?

    6. I am in VT but other side of the state, WRJ area. If it was on a weekend day like the 21st, I might be able to make it. @ModernWizard is also in the Burlington area, she doesn't do DOA much as her tastes have mostly wandered off into not-on-topic types of dolls.

    7. Gotcha. I'm also happy to meet somewhere in between and I'm around most Saturdays during the day. I'm excited to see there's a few other people in the state who are in the hobby :) I haven't been to any meetups since I moved here a few years ago and really miss them. Also happy to have any and all types of dolls at the meet if @ModernWizard wanted to join

    8. We used to have a meetup group in the Burlington area. It got shuttered due to Covid and one of the regulars passed away during, then I moved to NH.

    10. Vermontchick was a regular and unfortunately passed before we could reunite. Modernwizard was the group leader, but as I said her taste in dolls has wandered off on-topic bjd a bit since, though we always welcomed folks with other types of dolls. She could probably give you some tips about what worked well when she was organizing. I would be game for a new meet group. If it's on weekends I could make it except for the 2nd Saturday when the more trad doll clubs meet in VT and NH.

      Hark! Did someone say DOLL MEETUP IN VERMONT? I'm in Colchester and would be happy to attend meetups, especially if they were open to all kinds of dolls.

      It sounds like the 21st is not happening, but I could do the 28th after noon. I'm subscribing to this thread to watch for future developments.

    18. The 28th works for me! I have until 3:30 open so we could do 12:30-3:30? Any ideas for where to have it? I know @Lyrajean said they live in the WRJ area so I wouldn't mind having it a little closer to there so they don't have to drive as far, but I only really know of areas in Burlington. Did you guys used to have a specific meetup place when you were meeting before?

    19. @spentellit We used the Kolvord room at the Brownell Library in Essex Jct. That did used to have to be reserved ahead of time.And pretty close to Burlington. I lived near there in Jericho at the time we still had the group.

      I am also available 6/28

    20. @spentellit -- I just checked the Brownell Library's site; the Koolvord Room appears to be available on 6/28 in the afternoon. I'd recommend calling tomorrow and trying to get an official reservation if you want to go that route. That's very convenient for me because I live about six inches from there. :p It's also a great location because it's regularly served by public transit and therefore accessible for people without cars.

      P.S. Are any of you going to OTAKUTHON? It's Canada's biggest anime convention, held every August in Montreal, and there's always some BJD-related programming, including meetups and a sales room. Otakuthon 2025 Lyrajean and I are planning on attending!

    21. Brownell Library sounds perfect! I can actually head over there after work today and make the reservation as their site says it needs to be made in person and I get off work early today :)

      I'm going to try to go to the convention! I'll definitely be looking into it over the next couple of days.

    22. @spentellit -- the library is closed today for Juneteenth, but they're open tomorrow [and Saturday]!

      Otakuthon is lots of fun, especially because it's right on the edge of Montreal's Chinatown, which is full of neat little parks and other places to photograph dolls, not to mention all the delicious food at the restaurants.

    27. Glad you'll probably be there! :) I'm also trying to figure out who to bring. I have a Ringdoll Aooni on a FDoll body I'm planning to bring, but I'm not sure who else. I checked out your doll list and I'd be excited to see any of them honestly

    28. I don't have a huge collection so I might just bring everything lol. If folks have MSD male clothing or shoes to trade or sell I might also be looking but no pressure. It will be great to just meet everyone and see your awesome dolls!
