My first finished BJD sculpt is my basic Vanadyr sculpt. Vanadyr (from vana 'forest' and dyr 'creature') are part equine and part cervine. More specifically, their heads, ears, and hooves are based off horses, while their legs are based off deer/antelopes. I'm just hoping people who are fans of horses will be able to forgive what looks like bad horse anatomy that is actually cervine anatomy : Memory of Fragrant Lavender is my very first complete resin cast of the sculpt ^^ Everything is hand sculpted and cast, including her eyes (which were possibly the most difficult part of all - clear resin is a pain in the bum to work with!) Eventually, I plan on having lots of different parts for Vanadyr - I'm already working on cloven hooves and an alternate head that can have a variety of horns. For now, I'm just happy I got through the process of my first cast - it was certainly an ordeal! There are a few more photos in my Etsy and DeviantArt accounts. Please do visit them if you'd like to see more Vanadyr as they're produced ^^ One of my proudest successes is that the sculpt can rear, even on reasonably unstable ground! Sorry for the small image, I'm still a bit of a novice at photography, and these image sadly was a bit out of focus :
Wow, she is beautiful! I love the legs, I think they look great! And it's interesting seeing someone doing their own thing. Keep up the good job, I can't wait to see more of this cutie!
She looks absolutely amazing and flawless! Especially since she's your first o_o Wow, congratulations! I've never heard of this creature, but you can definitely tell the anatomy is intentional.
Great job. Thanks for sharing. Really good sculpting and I am impressed with the joints. Is there a tutorial anywhere on this site. If not...Why not. Again, great job.
