Valse du Ciel BJD heads - Brise completed![updated 06/09 page 6]

I started sculpting my first head a few days ago out of boredom, and turned out that it's fun xD I am no sculptor, but I guess he/she is decent for now. I was having a lot of problem with the mouth and the right-left symmetry D8 so glad that it's over LOL.

I'm calling him/her Oiseau (if I have my own BJD company in the future I'll name it Valse du Ciel. so the two names can somehow connect oh the dream... xD; ) . He/she is SD sized, and before I cut open the head, it can fit LUTS' wig albeit a bit loose.







I have not sculpted the eyes details and the ears, as well as the neck hole + the headcaps. Still a long way to go, but I'll do my best! ^^

I'm using air-dry clay called Jovi, it's the cheapo type, only 4 SGD a packet~
the head in the photos are already partually sanded, btw

 

Oh man, I forgot to update here about my dollhead xD;
In the past few months, my dream of making my own BJD company is coming closer. A couple more finetuning and then I can launch it to the public 8D

Oiseau has been casted in resin, however I don't have the newest picture of it yet. These are the pictures BEFORE the casting and final editing, I can say that it's at 80%. Its eyes and head cap have been editted.

Leif head has been casted in resin after some minor editing... and I did the faceup~


Both heads wear 16mm eyes, and the neckhole is based from SD13 boy neck.

I'll be going to the casting workshop again in early October, and will order Leif to be slightly editted ...again ^^; because I don't like the mouth (will need to be sanded down LOL )

In the end I editted Leif by myself today xD; I sanded down the uneven cheek abit, and also the upper lip... I'll take photos tomorrow.

Update time! 8D

Both of the heads have been finalized and casted. These are the prototypes that I'll be keeping. I will launch my shop soon, and you can expect the heads to look exactly like these ^^

In addition to the heads, there will be male and female SD bodies for sale. They're currently being worked on by my hardworking technician.

Oiseau head is being faced up as a male here, and wearing 18mm eyes. The head circumference is in the smaller range and I can safely say it can fit into SD girl's wig with no problem. His neck hole has no problem being fitted into the SD male body that's being developed, I'm hoping it can fit into the female body as well ^^

Leif









Leif head with two different face ups (one as a male and one as a female)
It can wear both 16mm and 18mm eyes.

I'm excited as the opening date of my shop is coming closer xD!

Musashi chan - the grey stuffs is called MrSurfacer, you spray or coat it and then sand the head/other body parts...and it'll be smooth 8D Good luck in making your own BJD body!

I may have to delay the sale for Oiseau as there are some features that I quite dislike X_x but I will get the Leif head into production soon. Once I'm done sorting out website and packaging and all the other details ^^

I finally managed to take some photos of the new heads ^^
And I think it's more propriate for me to change the thread title since it's not all about Oiseau or Leif only now.

This is Ailes. Sculpted by my technician, Jia.
I think it's kinda accidental (?) that the head looks like Oiseau, somehow xD
Ailes is an MSD sized head (more DOC sized) and can take 14 - 16mm eyes.

I instructed him to make the first test cast already~ but it's still not ready yet.







And for the second head in progress~~~

I sculpted this one and I name him/her Voile. It's kinda an experimental head since the style is different and more mature.

So far I'm pretty satisfied at how he/she turns out even though he's still on the rough side and missing ears xD;

Voile is an SD sized head and I think should be able to take in 14-16mm eyes.

I'm going to open ordering period for Leif head soon, I think.

For now, the information available are as follows...

- Leif blank SD sized head.
- neckhole can fit into SD13 boy body and similar sizes bodies.
- wears 16mm or 18mm eyes.
- I may be offering faceup service at a small additional fee, if you want.
- headcap is not magnetic, but there's a loop for attaching rubber band so it won't fall off easily.
- head circumference is on the smaller size, and wigs size 8-9 fits the best.
- Offer period price is USD$70.00 for a limited time, normal price is USD$80.00

Is there any more thing that I miss out? Any questions?
I'm kinda unsure about the price, but I believe this price tag shouldn't be too high since material cost in my working place is lower than those in Korea or Japan.

kisaki_kun - the resin colour that's offered now is normal skin, and the colour is kinda on the pink side compared to Volks' yellow spectrum. I will post up a resin comparison photo in a few days for you to see ^^

Regarding white skin, I already saw the white skin that my technician offered, and it's really stark white. I do not know what company offers bodies in this white skin resin ^^; That's why, I may not open the order for it yet. However, if there's a demand regardless of the resin compatibility, I can still make the WS version.

Unfortunately, Oiseau may not be released soon. There's still so many problems with the face features that bug me. Mainly the eyes area. (the sculpt is not smooth enough for a nice faceup to be done ;_; ) I will work on Oiseau more to make it more professionally done than it is now.
