20–39cm Dolls Utopia

    1. Hello
      I want to introduce my first completed resin bjd, Utopia.
      she is 30 cm high, I worked on her with a non hardening matherial (monsterclay) that is better for making details but it also more struggling for jointing system and I had to make much more cats to perfect the prototype. Anyway, I would really like to know your thougs, sincerely. I will accept criticisms, I need them.

    2. Very beautiful! The body has wonderful details and I’m quite fond the Panic head sculpt as well.

      May I ask how long it took you to complete Utopia?

    5. Thank you! Well, from sculpting to final cast, more and less one year, maybe ten mouths, not continuatives 'cuse meanwhile I was working/studying. And some pauses to "clean the eyes" are needed ahah
      Plus the time had duplicated due to the material I used.
      In the complex I'm fond of her but I'm also working on a new body 'cuase I find that now I can improve many things
      An maybe I should make bigger eyes for Panic, those iris on her looks quite small

Giving you useful criticism on your beautiful project is very difficult to do. it has nothing do to with your art project because we can see on the body sculpt, that you have put so much effort and details into everything on the front. beautiful sculpting on the whole body. Your knowledge to anatomy is evident and you sculpt style shines through. What I have as "critique" isn´t that at all, but more like a personal preference and that is not relevant, because what you love to sculpt is yours to make.

      My only critique to you is actually they way you present your project in this thread, because I can hardly see much of your ladies faces or other details to the body. Hands are probably one of the most difficult subject to sculpt and I wonder why you haven´t shown us pictures here? from what I can see there is details in them as well. Not only that you have chosen to make an extra joint in your feet! that is an amazing accomplishment! but where is photos of them? Your have two sculpt faces but the photos are taken with angles and have dark shadows so we can barely see them. You need to show more clear straight on front and side views.
      As for your body sculpt, it is great to the front but I´m sure there is a beautiful back to show as well ;) as much as it is an artistic art form, I would have appreciated much more posing photos of the nude body in itself without ropes around. But that is another personal preference for me, so others might not agree here.

      if you have other pictures of what I have mentioned in other threads, it is always a good idea to link to them too. Most of people now a days hardly do a deep dive search.

      I apologies if I sound harsh. That is not my intention and I hope you continue to sculpt in the future!
