I own a Canon EOS Rebel T6 and use a 60mm f2.8 macro lens for most of my doll photography. This camera was my first DSLR and I've had it for several years. It was the perfect choice for a beginner, but as my photography continues to improve, I feel that an entry level camera has become quite limiting. Any setting that has low or bright light becomes difficult to photograph in, and I feel that the face recognition capabilities of my T6 aren't as good as I'd like. I guess I'm looking to expand my horizons! I've tried out one of the new Sony mirrorless cameras (I believe it was the A7?), and although the quality was very crisp, I found that the effect it would have on my doll photography isn't really what I'm looking for. Canon cameras tend to have a bit more of a softer, sort of blur, that gives a dreamy feel to my photos. I also quite like my lenses, so if I can manage to keep them while upgrading to a new body, that would be perfect. I'm open to all options, though! Any recommendations that aren't too expensive? Thanks in advance!

The most popular camera on that list is an i-phone six! Depending on where you are, there are places, in the US, you can "rent" a camera and test them out first.
Thanks for the info. There are just so many different models of Canon (and other brands) cameras that I was really hoping for a more specific suggestion regarding a decent upgrade from my Rebel T6. That would be something to look into if I knew what kind of camera I wanted.
If you want to stay with a crop sensor, an 80D looks like it would be a direct upgrade for the T6, having come out in the same year, just being a higher price-point better-reviewed camera with higher quality features. If you wanted to try a full-frame, the 5D Mark III looks like a good value for the year/technology.
Thanks, @Melissa! I think the 5D Mark III looks like a good option, as the full-frame does seem like it would improve my photo quality. It looks like there are some decent deals for them on eBay, as well, so I could get one for only a little more $$$ than an 80D.
