Aesthetics Updated faceup! (Rosenlied Ribbon)

May 10, 2020

Second time posting in here, but with an updated faceup!
I tried taking some of the constructive criticism from the first post and implementing what people said, but I can't tell if I've made actual improvement or not. I also tried a softer look here with softer details. Still looks a bit off to me, but I'm not sure if it's just me being hard on myself.
      Would love some criticism nonetheless~

    2. The line weight variation on the eye lashes is good! The way they go in different directions is lovely. For the eyebrows I think having visible hair makes it look better (its hard to describe it lol) especially those few lines where the eyebrow starts from the nose bridge. Of course you could always prefer the block style and you may just need a sharper/smoother pencil with perhaps even some gradient from light to dark. All in all though her face is quite sweet :) And I hope I somewhat made some sense.

    3. Thank you so much!
I definitely agree, I think the eyebrows could use more detail for sure. I had a lot of trouble getting those details in this time for some reason. I think I'm gonna try to go back and add on a top layer.

    4. I think that would help your face up quite a bit! And you already have a great base for the eye brows, can't wait to see the next update. Good luck!

    5. She's absolutely beautiful! I've gone back to her profile a couple times today to admire her :love
I think she looks so lovely overall, but maybe make her waterline have more depth, as its only one color, it's a little odd visually to me personally, I think even just darkening the outer corner waterline a little will really help, and also adding gloss if that's pretty to you! I agree with Hosh on the eyebrows, although the one she has now definitely remind me of how younger ones can have really soft eyebrows without much definition. I also think her lips could use a little more shading, the red line on her lower lip looks a little odd as it's not blended out. I hope some of this helps! I'm excited to see you grow as an artist:3nodding:

    6. Thanks so much :D I'm glad you like her!
I'm definitely looking forward to adding the detail. Thank you for the tips!

I actually did I bit more research and found out that airbrushed Liquitex Matte Varnish (which I tried for the first time for this faceup) has much less tooth that the Matte Medium, so I actually think I'm going to wipe this face up and try again. Hopefully I'll have better results with the medium as I'm have a lot of difficulty adding small detail with the varnish. I feel kind of silly that I didn't think there would be that much of a difference between the two.

Definitely will update once I'm done! Thanks for the support everyone!

    7. Ahw she's absolutely adorable

    8. She looksnreally sweet and cute! I adore how you did the details above her eyes, it gives them more depth.

I agree with the suggestions you have already gotten, but I would also want to reccomend adding some blush to her ears. The face is pretty heavily blushed so adding some color to her ears would make it look more cohesive

Here's the update! Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
I'm kind of sad that she looks less sad (lol) and pouty now, but I think the detail I was able definitely a big improvement. The Liquitex Matte Medium works miracles.
I also think I could have added more lip detail. I think lips are the hardest part!

I knew I was forgetting something. I forgot again
I'll add it soon too :3nodding:

    10. I
I like this new version a lot! I even like the lighter face blushing ~

    11. The detail you added to the eyebrows really took it that extra mile. Her faceup looks so natural and soft. Very good job!! :aheartbea

    12. Ah, she looks so cute! I think you got the perfect balance between soft and detailled with the eyebrows now. So sweet :3 nice work!
