11/19/06 Okay, i decided the old head i was using was WAY too disproportionate to use, so i sculpted another one ( and one that was more realistic proportion wise) so i have combined this project with part of my senior thesis.... lol... yeah i really wanted to do this for school, so she's supposed to be one of the 3 characters that i've been doing artwork about...she has a strange backstory...but ANYWAY ! here are some pics of how far i've gotten. this photo with flash so you can see the painting i'm doing on her body: and this is one of my paintings of the character she's supposed to look like: oh and i know youre probably like, 'she has no eyes!!' but i havent decided whether or not i should drill eyewells... i kind of like her with painted on eyes.... but eyeballs might give her another dimention!! i dunno!! i'll have to think about all this! 10/29/06 Well i started it a few weeks ago...but i was using a tutorial this time, and paper clay... and WOW is it so much easier to do than with sculpey! i really like how shes coming out so far! anyone have any ideas what i should change ? (i havent gotten to her legs yet theyre still styrafome , and the feet and hands too... ) I really want to cast her for an exhibit idea i wanted to do..
hey Inulg - very cool - I like her head alot - have you tried eyes in yet? its amazing how they come alive when you do.... hope you will post new pics soon.... congratulations!
wow! so its been a while, and i'm actually finishing up this sculpt for part of my thesis... ahh!! i need to hurry!! i'm still not sure whether or not i should seperate the torso into 2 peices....and add posability... idunno... i'll try to post pictures soon...
Here are some more progress updates! I'm hoping i'll have her strung together by tomorrow... *sigh* i ran out of paperclay and am going to use stone clay instead... the colors will look funny of course, but i'm going to mold her and noone will notice!! oh yeah, and that faceup is TEMPORARY!! its just me messing around with what i think i want her to look like!! (and it smudged on the clay ! :'( ) she still needs a ton of sanding as well!
starting to cast the peices!! ohh i should have taken a picture of her strung together...*sigh* i'm thinking of re-sculpting the head to something more proportional and less anime looking huge.. the copy next to the original...
