Unsatisfactory Transaction with naitomeadoll aka Taksan

Im really sorry it bounced I have no idea why and now my account is over 123 as well.. as soon as I figure out what happened, I will get back to you as soon as possible.

going to have to bump this-i got a check for a considerable amount of money for 3 things sold (a shiwoo and two CP bodies) to naitomeadoll and today found out it bounced. i had cashed the check and deposited it thinking everything was fine. a week and a half later my bank alerted me the check was no good.

i've been in contact with naitomeadoll and hopefully we can work something out really soon. i'm just in hysterical panic mode right now since this is a lot of money for me to worry about. i have faith in her though

 

In the interest of full disclosure, I want to add to this thread that I am currently holding onto a check from naitomeadoll for $115 worth of doll clothes. As she had said she was sending a money order (I don't take checks), and I failed to realize what arrived was a bank check instead, I went ahead and sent the items. The day I was preparing my deposit I saw this thread, realized I was holding a check and not a money order, and got in touch with naitomeadoll to ask what was going on. She has apologized for sending a check, and says that when I deposit it this weekend, the funds will be present to clear. I will ask the bank if it is possible to verify this somehow before depositing.

 

Naitomeadoll bounced a check for $500 for a doll she bought from me. I am also out a $35 bounced check fee.

my check that bounced was for $1230. my overdraft fees now total $144, she promised she'd pay me back and the fees. she sold two of her dolls and had the buyers paypal me the funds-after fees it was $918 sent to me. which is great, but if there's a problem-the buyers will come after me. i haven't been in touch with her today, last night i got an email saying her internet was down and she was using her phone.

 

Im one of the buyers, (its Jan) so you can PM me if you need to and you have my email. I also got a text from her this morning on my cell saying her net was down. Communication seems good though and Im hoping for the best. I have sent her an email asking her to have it shipped soon.

Im glad we all at least connected on this. I had read her feedback thread and thought it was all good, so this shuffling around of things is a surprise for me.

 

I will be taking the check to the bank today. I am going to stand there and have the bank call the other bank to make sure funds are present. I will let you know if I have success.

 

i just got off the phone with her-she's very upset this happened. she hand closed her account w/the bank before things had time to clear. she is going to try to pay all parties involved back asap. she does not have internet at home right now.

 

So the account is closed? The check I am holding is written on an account that no longer exists? Was she planning to get in touch to let me know this?

I am also concerned because with the stories coming out in this thread, some of what she has told me is clearly not true. I will go through my PMs when I get home from work to see if we can sort out what is really going on.

Naitomeadoll contacted me a while ago saying that she was interested in a body and a head I'm selling. She asked me to mail her better than PM her. We kept in contact and I put the items on hold for her. She said she couldn't use paypal and she prefered bank transfer (eventhough I explained other methods to her). I haven't had any reply from her since then. I mailed her to ask if she still interested and I got no answer. I tried to PM her and a notice said "Naitomeadoll has choosen not to receive PMs". So I put the items off hold. That's what happened to me.

 

I am going to write a detailed explanation of whats going on

 

This is appreciated. And please include in your explanation how you are going to recompense all these buyers and sellers.

It would be very helpful if those who are involved would list the amount of money, bank fees and dolls/etc., that have been lost.

 

I am very shocked that this has suddenly come to my attention, my deepest apologies to everyone involved, my internet connection is back up (I chewed out my room-mate to go pay the bill) I intend to keep in contact with everyone until my debt is completly cleared. So here is what happened to my fullest understanding.

I had paid via bill pay, figuring everything was good & cleared, because I had heard from parties that there checks had cleared and they had there money

I closed my bank of america account and transfered banks because BOFA is entirely to far to walk to (about 4+ miles) recently I got an email from hoobear saying that her check had bounced, and I now owed her another 1230 $ + Fees, I have every intention of paying back.

Bank of america does NOT hold the funds while doing transfers, apparently they collect later rather than holding the funds or freezing them until they are collected. I didnt know this, and sense I was told that checks cleared I figured everything was fine.

The account is no longer open and so when they went to collect there was nothing there to collect-
and that is why all the checks have bounced.

I seriously pray that no more happens. I have repaid hoobear 918.00$ of the money I owe her.

I am sick to my stomach over the money I once owe again, I am a tattoo artist and will be working over time this weekend to make as much money as possible...

I have also been selling dolls to come up with funds
to pay everyone back for the money that I owe.

I realize that this is my fault for not checking, I have 100% confidence that I can pay everyone back in a timely manner. If you experience bank fees, please let me know and I will pay them back as well.

I am shaking and crying because I have to come up with this money again. So I am sorry if some of this is confusing.

Naitomeadoll, I just got back from my bank. They called and inquired about the account listed on the check you gave me, and were told in no uncertain terms that the account in question is open and does have the funds in it to cover the amount of the check.

Was my check was written on a different account, one that is active and containing funds? If so, I wish you had told me that when I first asked you about all this on October 26. I have been holding it all this time, as we discussed in PM.

In any event, since the funds were present, my bank took your check and the payment will be processed as usual on Monday morning.

If I may offer some advice -- you need to learn how to use a check register to track funds and checks written. It is a basic life skill that will prevent this from ever happening again.

Also, for the record, you are not having to "come up with the money again." The money for the checks you wrote was never withdrawn in the first place -- hence them bouncing. You just flat-out wrote more checks than you had money to cover, and didn't realize it because you were not keeping proper track of your spending. You even had WTB threads in the Marketplace while all this was going on this week -- a lot of them! You need to gain control of your spending before it ruins your life.

 

Naitomeadoll -What date did you close your bank account?

 

Naitomeadoll PMed me about the vampire elf Ivan I am selling several days ago and I sent her my first email inquiring for her shipping information so I can give her a shipping quote. She responded to my first email but did not answer the shipping question so I sent her two more emails since then and have received no response for a few days. I'm posting here hoping to get her attention and at least tell me if she's still wants to buy the doll otherwise I will take him off hold. He will be kept on hold for 24 more hours before I open the thread again to other buyers unless I get a response and an agreement is reached.

[EDIT] After posting this I received an email response from Naitomeadoll. An agreement has been reached and the doll is up for sale again.

Well, I may as well add info about my recent transaction to this thread.

Naitomeadoll bought a MNF Lishe boy from me and paid via BillPay... I deposited it at the bank on October 23rd. I had a short talk with the lady who deposited it, because I asked her when it would clear... she said the funds would be available to me in like two days, which usually means the check has cleared, but if an account is closed right after that then the funds could be taken back from me. Well, the funds became available to me and since naitomeadoll had really good feedback, I shipped the doll to her last Friday. It's been a week and a half and the check hasn't bounced.

So... I don't know why some checks would bounce and others wouldn't... but my transaction turned out fine (so far). I'm not worried, even if the check bounces (but I don't think it will after a week and a half?)... I think naitomeadoll seems like a trustworthy person ^^

 

Update on my situation, Ive got a tracking number now, ill know if its in the system tomorrow, or monday depending on how the us post works (im canadian). Shes been very good to phone meto tell me when shes done each step.

 

this is my breakdown-
sold to naitomeadoll 2 cp bodies and oneshiwoo w/shipping-$1230
(shipping was less than i expected so i refunded her $15 through a paypal account she gave me)
on 10/31 the check for $1230 bounced since then i have gotten 1 chargeback fee for the check itself which was $38, two other overdraft charges of $34 each, and 2 'tier 2' overdraft charges of $38 a piece bringing the total in bank fees to $182. so
$1230-15=$1215+182=$1397 owed

she sold two dolls and had the buyers paypal me the funds, after fees that was $918. BUT i'm not counting that money til the buyers have the dolls in hand. if something goes wrong they will come after me. i told naitomeadoll i didn't want to do that again since now i'm stressed out more than ever over these dolls getting to the right people and the thought of them filing paypal disputes against ME makes my stomach turn. so i don't want to be the middleman for anymore transactions.

My tracking number works so I should have my doll by next week. So other than getting kinda worried about all this that was going on, my transaction has gone rather smoothly and Hoobear shouldn't have to worry about giving my bit back.

I am the second buyer for her dolls. She has sent me a tracking number for my doll. It has not shown up in the USPS system; but she just sent it on Friday. So I will keep you informed.

I saw Naitomeadoll yesterday and she did pay me $100+ for items she'd put on hold with me some time ago.

I do not know Naitomeadoll personally, but I do feel she is actively trying to rectify all the transactions she is currently involved in. I sincerely hope everything will be resolved soon for everyone.

Just picked up my mail from yesterday.

Got a copy of naitomeadoll bounced check she had issued to me for $500.

It has stamped across it.

Returned Reason C.
STOP PAYMENT.

 

Stopped payment is a very different issue than a closed bank account or insufficient funds.

 

i got my bank statement, not including the check itself, but reason stated is 'account closed 10/29'

naitomeadoll told me that she hoped everything would be resolved this week. i hope so.

 

Since hoobear just confirmed with her bank that naitomeadoll did close her bank account on 10/29, this explains why her account was open when your bank got back to you on 11/02. When a BoA bank account has been closed and is hit with a bounced check, the account will automatically reopen.

I'm guessing what might have happened is that naitomeadoll issued checks to everyone believing they would clear even though she closed her back account to switch to another branch. No idea on the stop payment though Gina, I was under the impression stop payments can only be issued by the account holder, not the bank themselves.

 

I have never heard of a bank policy like that. How do the funds get back into it when that happens? Her bank informed my bank manager that the funds were present in the account for my check to clear. (Or at least they were on Friday.)

 

The funds don't. The account is reactivated with a negative balance per the bounced check(s), as to close a BoA account you first must remove all the funds from it. You can unfortunately close a BoA bank account with outgoing checks still pending. I can only guess that naitomeadoll deposited funds back into the reactivated account when your bank manager checked.

 

Additionally, eveshka on the board (who has been with BoA since they were NationsBank) has informed me that "if [naitomeadoll] had a savings account linked to the checking account at BoA, even if the checking had been closed... the bounce/reopen could be funded by any overdraft protection line (credit card or savings account funded, depending on how it was set up.)"

I agreed to sell a Tanpopo to Naitomeadoll for $500 by money order Oct. 11.
She said she would send payment from her bank on October 18th.
So I waited. We were in communications all during that time.

I received actual payment in the form of a billpay check Oct 21st. It was not a money order.
But my bank said it was okay to cash. (They made a mistake.)
I shipped the doll..Oct. 26. Naitomeadoll received it Oct. 29th.

Turns out Oct. 20th Naitomeadoll stop payment on the check to me. So her check bounced. She never told me she stopped payment. She let me assume the check was still good after I told her I received it and cashed it.

Naitomeadoll has not told me when I will receive any payment from her...

 

Gina, I see that Naitomeadoll was on the forum today, shortly after you made your post. I don't suppose she has contacted you to discuss this?

I also have a transaction with Naitomeadoll, for a YO SD Ayumu.. through the MP and ebay on 10/30: to be paid by a Postal Money Order.

But due to all the open payments, I've offered to void the auction so I can get my fees back and she won't get a strike. That way she will have one less person to pay back.

 

Am I to understand from the last two posts that she is still buying new things?

I have compared numbers with Gina. The account numbers on our checks are the same. Of course, Naitomeadoll stopped payment on Gina's check -- it didn't bounce because of a closed account -- so I'm not sure if that means much. Gina, have you received an explanation about why your check had a stop payment placed upon it?

 

good good-so that's officially $505 off what naitomeadoll owes me. $413 is still pending til janmurphy gets her doll. naitomeadoll still owes me $489 after that. (i got hit with $48 more in bank fees this week.). i was told i'd be getting a money order this week-by today. i want something by tonight towards the balance she owes me, if not the rest of it.

She won my auction for a YO SD Ayumu on ebay after sending me a pm on Oct.30, because I have a post on the MP Tiny Doll section.

But after someone pointed out this tread to me I sent an email and told her that we could agree to not complete the transaction, so she would have one less payment.

She was ok with that, and I'm just waiting for her to send ebay the ok to void the auction.

Naitomeadoll's bank told me that Naitomeadoll herself put a stop payment on the check to me.

Naitomeadoll has not told me why she canceled the check to me. Nor has she told me on what date did she closed her bank account.

I have not received any of the $500 plus $35 in bounced fees that she owes me.

Naitomeadoll said she will get most of the money to me by Friday or Saturday.

Last email she also told me ...she has trouble getting a new bank account. And hasn't got paypal. She also told me she lost her cellphone.

I am keeping the mods informed of her progress.

 

just letting everyone know that I will be working this weekend, and if I do not reply right away that is why, hopefully my cellphone (which is currently lost) will be found, and I can be reached that way.

I now only owe Hoobear 289.00$.

I have been very busy with a new job and hadn't looked at my account until this morning. I was horribly overdrawn and saw the cause of it was the return of Naitomeadoll's check on November 1st. My bank's comment said that the account to that check was closed.

Just so everyone knows the tracking number I got IS indeed working, it has been updated once since he was shipped [Accepted in Chicago] and Canada Post along with USPS have both updated with that information so there's nothing wrong there so far ~

I have full confidence in naitomeadoll, I paid her through her boyfriend's paypal and have gotten along greatly with her through messanger! Mess-up's happen.

well my phone has been found and my pm feature is off because two months back or whenever the "search pm" feature became present. My PM's started acting up I couldn't recieve them and so I contacted 3 mods about it and NOTHING happened, that's why my PM feature is turned off. They dont work any way and I respond to my email just as fast. I have given many ways to contact me, aim, phone number email..
