One body finished one more to go .
This is the uke version. I’m pretty satisfied with how he turned out in the end ... all those joints work like charm.
He is 3d resin printed since certain pieces require also internal sculpting, but most importantly this factor gave me full control over the weight distribution. In fact .. he can even hold embarrassing poses ( like gosh want to pee so bad ) standing in one foot .

    2. Oh my, he's absolutely stunning. For sure my favorite doll project I think I've ever seen? I adore all the variation in the sculpt, all of the curves and definition make for such a realistic feeling finished product. It's really nice seeing a more muscular body that can pose so naturally too! Like I adore my beefy Herculean body but he's limited in his mobility more than I'd like :sweat

Was there anything with this project you wanted to accomplish but didn't?

    3. Actually no . I’m pretty satisfied with it , ended up to be even more sweet from my initial expectations. But that’s normal ... you start with few ideas and then you end up experimenting, adding improvements that weren’t even in program at the start .
One thing is sure , there was a lot of thinking behind and tests , that’s why it took time to be finished . For example to strung a doll with so many pieces can be a challenge usually no ? Well with this puppy is a piece of cake . You have 4 different elastic tensions inside . Each leg has a mind of his own can be strung separately easily and most importantly when he poses limbs and torso are independent from each other .

    4. This turned out fantastic! I really love his overall shape.

Where do you plan to go from here?

If you don't mind me asking, what process did you use to hollow the body and limbs for stringing? How many versions did you make physically to test the motion? Any unexpected problems?

    5. Feel free to ask whatever you wish , no problem .
For the 1/4 size and this version nothing more . Finished to strung the 1/3 size today ( 62cm ) that was the planed size I had in mind from the start (but I did all the joint testing on the 1/4 in order to not waste material ). On the 1/3 size there is room for improvement like adding joints on his fingers .

Next one is the seme body type; skinny as hell too (I want for both of them to look elegant wearing a hanfu and not like a bag of potatoes ) shoulders chest and arms slightly bigger more muscle tone and a two pieces belly .

I wouldn’t say they were different versions ... but definitely different pieces that I continued to change and test rechange and test again .

    6. Wow, that's some impressive body engineering. I don't own any beefy dolls, but I've heard that those dolls usually have limited mobility/posing capacity due to how t h i c c they are. Really cool how you added an extra joint after the shoulder. Are you still working on this project? (hope you don't mind me reviving this thread)

    7. Yes volumes may interfere with mobility up to a certain point ,but what really matters in the end are the joints , how are builded.
Actually after this one that is finished, I pulled out 5 more bodies and the last male is even more beefy than this one. Lol lol

    8. The posing looks so fun! I love the sculpt details so much! It looks really realistic.
