    6. Early bird tickets selling super fast! Grab them before the price increase in July!

    7. I got mine... although I can't be certain as I clicked the link in the confirmation email but the site won't let me access my ticket, which is worrying

      Teddy

    8. Send us an email on [email protected] and we can check the ticket sales log for you

    9. Yay finally got mine, that website just didn’t like me at all!

    12. Please do come along!

    13. Are there any tickets left? I just tried to get last minute early bird ticket and there were none left. Like totally nothing or just no early ones any more? Will try tomorrow, hopefully it’s just a gray area between the dates.

    14. Got my ticket! :celebrateMore expensive than the early ones but it’s my own fault for not checking the dates. Still a happy bunny! Looking forward to meeting you all nice people!

    15. Sorry you missed the early bird tickets! We do a lot of announcements on Instagram, Discord and Facebook, but we don't alway check here!

    16. That’s ok!
While you are here, could you tell a bit more about the photo contest please? Very possible that l will do anything the last minute but it helps if l know and can mentally plan. What format it will be? I mean send them to an email prior to the event or bring prints? Technical requirements? The theme? Doll fairies or something else?
      :thumbup

    17. We are doing a social media post with all the rules etc in a few weeks :)

    18. What dolls are you all bringing this year?

    19. I haven't thought that far yet.

It's tempting to say I'd bring Daisy Bacon (my Dollmore Lusion Daish) but there's no way I'm carrying t hat much resin around a convention, an I don't have access to a pushchair I could put her in, so it will probably be one of the SD sized gang, or a couple of the tinies, perhaps some of the LittleFees

      Teddy

      • x 1
    20. Yeah you probably want an SD or MSD! Not sure who I’m gonna bring as I’m going to be so busy on the days haha

    21. Good luck deciding!

      Teddy

    22. I am hoping to bring my dragon. I'm still figuring out the logistics of that.

      • x 1
    23. I'm not sure how I'm even getting there

      Teddy

    24. I’m debating with myself should l bring one or both. They are big. Iplehouse HID and Granado 70Adagio. l just finished both their face ups and body blushing. First time in my life and l’m quite satisfied with the result myself. Now have to do the wigs.

I have a question: will a smallish pram be allowed? I could place the dolls in it and it would give me something to hold on while walking. My back is not the best any more.

And what about car park - the H suite website says they have 150 places, do you think there will be enough places for everybody? I would like to come by car.

      • x 1
    25. I'd have thought so as it's an event venue.

I'm just hoping the people I went with last time are still planing on going this time, as otherwise I have no way of getting there. Public transport would mean going by train to the nearest station, and a taxi from there, which isn't viable for a day trip from where I am. It would also be prohibitively expensive, AND means the issue of relying on a taxi to turn up to get me back to the station for the journey home too (been lt down that way before). I've been assuming all of us had followed through with buying memberships, as we planned, but haven't had confirmation of that. I'll be seeing them on Sunday for a dolly-day so, hopefully, I'll pin them down to a definate yes or no then.

    26. I understand that you are coming from London direction? Then unfortunately I can’t offer you a ride, I come from Telford. Still not sure if car would be better or take the train and then uber. Haven’t tried uber here in UK but in other countries they show up within 10 minutes max and the price is reasonable.

      Dolly-day? I envy you! :love

    27. It's nice of you to think of it but, yes, Wimbledon/London is my starting point.

I don't have the option of an Uber as I'd have no way of arranging for it. I don't own an mobile phone. It would be train to the station, and pick up a taxi from the rank outside the station, and arrange with the driver for a pickup later in the day to tke me back to the station (and hoping it turned up).

One of us hosts one every so often, just a dolly friend or two getting together at someone's house for the day to play with our dolls. This time around it's at my place. I'm not very good at rememebring to set a date and let people know. The last one I hosted was just over a year ago.

      Teddy

    28. Thanks for the reminder about the travelling, just bought train tickets :D

Just need to work out which bus (and where from) from New Street to venue :thumbup edit, the number 80 :daisy

Think I maybe bringing a 1/4 with a new head i have, if I get it all faceupped, and probably making a wig too :sweat and a 1/6 I think too...

    29. @Teddy best of luck with getting your travelling sortes and planned out  tbh using a mobile is so useful - I remember the days (way back) when I travelled without one and it certainly was more stressful in those days. :sweat

    30. Yeah, but it's not woth having one just for teh occasional journey. I had one, twenty-something years ago, and used it so infrequently that it stopped holding a charge, which showed me how little I needed it, and I haven't had one since.

Hopefully, the group travel plan is still in place and a friend will be driving a bunch of us, like last time. I'll find out on Sunday.

      Teddy

    31. I am happy to collect people from the train station if needed!

Also don’t forget to grab your tickets folks! We are down to about 50% :)

    32. I'm hoping that my AE Leilani will be home in time to come with me, but we'll definitely be cutting it close! If not, it will most likely be my terrible son Code

    33. same thing here...wondering which doll to bring. :wiggle

    34. OK, Plan for transport (mostly) in place!!

Which doll to birng will probably be left to the last minute - as usual I'd like to bring Lula, the Magikademia Taliea doll I bought at the last ukbjdcon but, she's such a weight of resin to carry I think I might regret it.

      Teddy

    35. im getting a taxi from New street to near the venue...it should be pretty close ride. Id offer to share but im thinking In staying overnight before the convention. I just find it tiring go and back on the same day...what time is your trinl? im only curious as to how early you can get there? :abambi:

      • x 1
    36. @dbfalcao you are certainly travelling a longer distance so I can understand staying overnight ;) I am getting into New Street at 09:24 :) the bus journey is around 17mins, leaving at 09:35 from the outside station fingers crossed can make it, as getting out of New Street can be time consuming :sweat If so should get to the venue from 09:52. :evilplot: I am leaving the house for the station at a lovely 07:15 though (not looking forward to that ;)).

Staying over sounds very civilised and relaxing

Have you managed to decide who you will be bringing? I think I have decided but need to get them finished for taking along though. Nice to have the push to make it happen :-)

    37. HELLO! Well, reading how most people will come and go same days think I might just do that. :) Im still deciding on which doll, but I think ill bring Doris,. shes a spirit doll 1/2.:D

      • x 2
    38. :aeyepop: 1/2 bjd? Would love to see that in person :D

You are brave! ... then again I will be bringing a 68cm, a 48cm and maybe a pet bjd :thumbup:lol:

    39. NO ! I think you are braver ! :aeyepop::aeyepop::aeyepop::aeyepop::lol:

    40. Wow, that's a heavy chunk of resin to carry around all day

I'd love to bring my Lusion but I'd need to get a push-chair to trundle her around in, there's no way i'd carry her all that time.

      Teddy

    41. Wow! I’ll keep an eye out for you and your doll! Want to see that one! :aeyepop:

      • x 1
    42. Same here haha :D

    43. oh right...I was already changing my mind but in that case I think she'd have to come!

      • x 1
    44. Don't feel pressured, feel free to change your mind anytime and bring another... I may do myself too ;) bring whatever you are comfortable with and carrying around the Con. There will be tables to settle at, but there are also many stalls to wander around too ;) it is a long expensive day out (when you factor travel, etc) to feel uncomfortable taking around a too large heavy bjd.

    45. youre very kind :) I actually changed my plans to stay over and om going and back on the same day! But Doris has already asked me to take her...so. well see! :)

      • x 2
    46. This is a longshot but - does anybody who is going to the Con have a DollsTown or Dollshe BJD in Copper Oriental skintone that they are willing to bring along so I can compare it to a head I'm looking to colour-match for hybrid?

Just a part, like a headcap or a spare hand would do, rather than bringing the whole doll.

      Thanks

      Teddy

    47. So, lately i've been thinking about a way of bringing Doris(1/2 spirit doll) to the convention in a way that is comfortable for me to get in and out of train and walk around the convention for hours. This is what I came up with - see pic-
[IMG]IMG_0887 by Diana Brocken, on Flickr

its a dog pram. She can seat with her legs stretched as well. It seems secure enough and I can use the canopy to cover her, so no one can see her. What do you all think?
      Its that silly? :frownyblush:

      • x 2
    48. No, it’s not silly at all! (says she who has her own dog pram ready to go). Our backbones were not won in a lottery and we shall need them long years, we better care for them.

      • x 1
    49. I purchased that only for carrying her but yes she’s heavy !

      • x 1
    50. It's no sillier than my solution for transporting my dragon around the convention all day. Which is him sitting on my shoulder like a parrot with a little harness on to keep him there and a shoulderpad cushion to keep him from causing pain.

    51. Awwww I’ll be curious to see that !

    52. I got mine for my actual dog when he was old and got tired fast but still enjoyed crowded gatherings. Kept people from stepping on his tale or paws while sitting in an outdoor cafe and crowds walking past. But it can be used for anything.
YESSS!!!! Dragon is coming!!!! Absolutely want to see you both!

    53. Got my ticket. It will be my first ever offline BJD convention.

I have mostly vinyl dolls and I'll probably take 1:3 scale Dollfie Dream Kirika Towa Alma as she's the best match I have for this year's theme. I might also take a 1:4 scale MDD. I took one to a BJD meet recently and she towered over the Barbies lol.

Are any other vinyl doll lovers planning on going?

      • x 2
    54. @Xiongmao don't own any vinyl myself but there should be folks being theirs, I saw 15-20 at one of the mini Cons (they were collated in one place for a time). It was an impressive display :love

    55. Nice idea!
